In X-Men #18, Wolverine, Synch and Darwin’s journey to the Vault quickly escalated to a battle with the Children of the Vault, and a massive explosion ended the issue. We pick up from there, with the crew of course surviving - that’s their combined skillset, and why they were chosen - and Hickman and company quickly escalate the passage of time, within two pages Synch says “The first fifty years were the longest.”
