  • Fishing industry is the major contributor to Senegal's economy and export. At one of the biggest fishing ports in Senegal, M’bour, canoes are arriving from the sea everyday, packed with fishermen and fish. The fishermen have spent 15 days out at sea from the Atlantic coast in M’bour, to the direction of the Mauritanian coast, or further south, to the waters of Guinea-Bissau. Despite the risk of losing their life, many young men turn to fishing due to economic pressure. In this video, I documented an ordinary day at the fishing port in M’bour, and the fishing traditions that has been maintained for decades.
