Ok so, what I belive is happening is that when you exit and continue the run, the bombs you placed as well as the scatter bombs are replaced for enviroment bombs or lose the tag of being placed by you, explaining why they don't keep rerolling upong continuing the run since the base game doesn't really have to take in account that you placed them, but do take in account that you did when taking ot from your bombs counter, which might be also the way the mod item recognizes that you placed a bomb so it doesn't trigger out of troll bombs or red bombs

I feel like a cool downside for this item would be that depending on the type of dice you're holding, like the d6 would cost like 5 bombs to actually reroll the item, and different types of dices would cost different amount of bombs

I feel like an easy way to balance it would be to add a percentage based chance to simply destroy the pedestal (because y'know, explosion). Basically a passive ED6, though personally I'd give it a higher percentage than 50%, maybe even as high as 80%. Without any risk factor, it is ridiculously overpowered.
Dice Bombs is so incredibly broken, but I have an idea that would balance it. Probably. Make the item pedestal act like a reroll machine. Every bomb has a chance to double roll it and stop rolling after that. That or the item could literally explode into a few pickups or something, that’d be pretty funny.
Eh more of a transmute power cause it’s very different and I mean different. By transmute I’m actually referencing another BoI:Repentance Roguelike game and it’s Undermine. Same concept but with Undermine having a cost to reroll items is using health and it was interestingly balanced but eh I digress. And I’m hoping Lazy Matt would see this cause Undermine’s still good cause it does have more unique enemies BUT the interesting part is curses that afflict your character every, single floor you go to. Some are strong with the right loadouts being cursed for more Dmg or just for fun really.

Having the remote detonator would mean the bombs don't use d6, it's based on the dice you hold right?
