I almost died from thyroid storm. I started having crazy panic attacks and my blood pressure shot up to crazy levels. I was waking up at 3 am every night and staying in the bathroom for hours. I lost 70 pds in 5 months and had my first seizure. Horrible. I’m so proud of you. Within a month of adjusting my levothyroxine I was almost back to feeling normal.

I have hyperthyroidism caused by Grave's Disease.. its so hereditary in the women in my family that my episodes started when I was 15 (I'm now 18), my first episode was a thyroid storm triggered by severe stress from trauma. I had minor seizures, high blood pressure and heart rate, confusion, and high levels of cortisol and adrenaline.. I couldn't eat or sleep for 7 days and after that it took my body 3 months to recover. My mother, who has hyperthyroidism, told me that I have the same symptoms of this disease as her. I'm doing better now, but I'm really prone to stress and can easily have another episode any day. I know its bad if I don't an appetite for a few days. God bless, and I hope you continue to stay healthy.

I've got Graves & PTSD both are highly sensitive to Stress Levels!
Recently went through a terrible experience with Family Violence which incorporated Current & Ex Military guys who HATE people with PTSD & believe it's their personal mission to Terrorise & Traumatise people with PTSD just for the lulz of it...
Man were my stress levels HIGH for a severely extended period of time, 7 years of it actually & combined with the underlying Graves disease, I'm just so thankful I didn't get sicker earlier; it it certainly explained my extra, extra heightened Hypervigilance from the PTSD & why the Anxiety would carry so much adrenalin with it...
I was forcefully medicated soon after for a misdiagnosis that has nothing to do with PTSD & consequently went into a repeatative Thyroid Storm state that lasted for 5 months when I nearly died multiple times but I had no chance in hell for accessing Medical Attention & when I tried the Ambulance Drivers just laughed at me collapsed on the Ground & drove off!
I never, ever, ever, ever want to experience a Thyroid Storm again, let alone one that continues for months on end!

My heart goes out to you, hopefully 🙏 you are in a better place today, and have a plan in case things get dicey again. I am working on my plan, I had stormed for more than 5 months and then the road back to health was longer ( our bodies are exhausted). There is no test to see if people are storming so you have to piece together what you remember and ask others. No worries we got this.

I had a thyroid storm in 2012. for months before i had been getting stomach and mouth ulsurs that were very painful. the doctor kept giving me more and stronger doses of acid reflux medicine but never tested my thyroid. i kept getting sicker and weaker and losing weight. it became harder for me to eat and i would randomly be unable to swallow food at some points. then i got a gum infection+ strep+diarrhea. At one point i remember laying halway on the couch with my arm over my eyes, praying that i would get better becuase i felt so weak and awful and mom said "want to go to the hospital honey?" and i agreed... i've always hated needles and going to the emergency room but once everything was settled the doctors told me i would have died if i waited another day or two. my heart rate was 175+ and they gave me a medicine that reset my heart to make it beat faster.. it hurt really bad and my heartrate shot up to 200+ instead. they tried it again and it didn't help. eventually they finally found out the problem and put me on medicine that helped calm my heart down and relax me. i was in the hospital for 5-6 days and when they were taking one of the iv's out to let me go home i fainted and my heart was stopped for longer than usual during it so they moved me to a bigger hospital for another day to observe my heart. i had fatigue so badly i could barely bathe myself or walk from room to room when i got home for months and even years. it improved a tiny bit but i still have bad chronic fatigue and muscle weakness. I ended up getting the thyroid removed with a radioactive iodine treatment.

It sucks ! This is the exact same thing that you have to deal with when being treated life long for thyroid cancer . As forced hyperthyroidism is necessary to keep the thyroid cancer cells asleep and not reproduce. And sometimes the levels will make you have a heart attack , tac out , or respiratory problems and ya end up with a bradycardia incident , that one sucks bigtime as it feels like a heart attack but it’s not . Pulse drops to 37 bpm oxygen drops to low 90s but you can get out of it by taking a two aspirin and a glycerin pill ,
And there is the opposite where your blood pressure hits let’s say 260/180 and your rushed into the cardiac unit and hit with enough advan to knock out a horse to bring ya down before ya stroke out .
Folks it’s been one hell of a ride, but I like it here so I take my medicine..

Are you kidding me!? Ive had a couple of drs who are looking at my tsh being 0.015, im having trouble walking most of the time right now because im stressed out for the past 2 months i lost my job, have to mkve back in with mom. 6 months ago the heart beating out of my chest, exhausted doesnt describe it well enough, weigh 110, you can tell my muscle mass is different, stairs i look at. Cry daily because its either pulling muscles, hips will hurt and just like you said flexibility changed. Been waking up feeling like my shin was kicked wjen no one did it. There is an active dimple in calf muscle that wasnt there. Dr says thyroid doesnt do that. Thats why i asked if you can have a thyroid storm for months. Its not at the extreme as i described all the time. Never fully normal but stress ive noticed lately is what I was referring to as an episode. Most drs blew me off, the one recently whos trying to help me but knows im strapped for money, has been calling me to ask how im feeling. Thought it was weird butt now im wondering of she is picking up on me heading towards a storm? Im waiting on the full thyroid panel but i know my tsh is 0.015 and im getting looks of concern but no suggestion to be hospitalized. Thyroid thought process over. Sorry and great video 😊
