To be perfectly clear, I knew nothing about ANY of these people (Colleen, Josh, Johnny, etc), with the exception of Adam, prior to all of this being exposed, but just from watching H3's episode with Johnny as well as all of Swoop's coverage, that's been my take all along as well.
I can't imagine how horrendous all of this crap has been to Colleen & her little gang of predators ACTUAL victims, including (imho) Josh himself.
Mr. "I am the only person in the room that matters" Johnny is not only an out and out liar but clearly also the textbook definition of a "Stan".

Honestly I think Johnny had feelings for Josh in an unhealthy way. And this is his way of revenge. I called this out all the way back in June, and I was accused of victim shaming, defending groomers, all of the things. But to me the red flags have been there as soon as Johnny started tweeting. He’s been ruthless, obsessive and hungry for attention and fame.

And the part where Johnny says “not YET at least” absolutely to me, sounds like he’s feeling like the ball is in his court and he can try and get Josh back. It’s actually super weird. Definitely obsessive behavior in my eyes.

@@Kristen_B123 yeah I feel like he wanted to present himself as someone Josh was interested in since everyone else’s allegations were about Colleen. Im sure it made him feel special that no one else came forward saying Josh gave them his number, or that Josh was grooming them, and that’s the high he rode. I think he mistook Josh’s actions as advances and interest. And several years later he got to capitalize on rejection. He made it seem like he was really close with Josh even tho he wasn’t. He came out to him, I’m sure hoping for a better response. And then years later at a prime opportunity… he spent MONTHS attacking & trying to ruin Josh’s life.

He was in love with Josh at a young age when he wasn’t able to realistically deal with those emotions and now feels hurt that the fantasy his teen self had played up never came true. As for the things about Johnny, he probably didn't think he'd be believed and as he's been continually saying, his life isn't online anymore. Plus I could see how apologizing for the parts you own up to can become muddied and disingenuous if you, the alleged perpetrator, then deny everything else. Looking forward to Swoop's next video!!

Given the inconsistencies with Johnny story as an alleged victim and the amount that he has diminished the other victims of Colleen ballanger, including her husband who was allegedly physically abused, it appears that Johnny was obsessed with Josh to a degree that was unhealthy and josh's disappearance after his divorce from Colleen. Was in Johnny's mind of a trail. Of his love, it really honestly feels like Johnny is writing. The coat tails of the other victims experience and their statements, which are more than likely true as a revenge plot for a man that he was obsessed with in some capacity, whether it be in a demigod kind of a way a spengali or romantic interest that was unreciprocated.

Some things I remember from Colleen and Joshua's breakup:
They divorced after a year, had a huge wedding where Colleen wore a princess ballgown which she later claimed was "not her style at all" since she would prefer an intimate wedding and it was really more for Joshua. In her announcement video of the divorce she says something along the lines of "I thought all our problems would go away after getting married but things got worse". I and many others were under the impression Joshua was abusive because of Colleen's statements. It later comes out that the timeline of when Colleen met current husband Erik overlaps during the year of marriage with Joshua. This is why many allege that Colleen cheated on Josh, though Colleen claims she and Erik were only friends until many months after the divorce was finalized. I remember Joshua would post angry videos about Colleen YEARS after the divorce, despite being in a happy relationship with his current wife. He stated he would "expose Colleen" but it sounded like his wife encouraged him not to, so he never did. I always thought he had to be a bit unhinged to be making such angry videos after so much time had passed and he had moved on with someone else, but I can also see, the constant harassment Josh received in comments from Colleen's fans blaming him for the divorce could have that effect on a person

I think it is so very obvious that Johnny felt betrayed by Joshua for ignoring him (the man was going through a terrible divorce and was being harassed by the internet daily, he had a legitimate reason to not wanna talk) and was envious of the "fame" and validation Adam has FINALLY been receiving, and decided to use Colleen and the other victims to broaden his platform so he could drag Joshua through the mud in front of an audience. I didnt like how he spoke over Oliver and Becky in that interview. It feels like all the attention has to be on him always, "comparing" Trishas and Colleens videos. That whole interview with Swoop gave me an ick. If you haven't watched Swoop's newest video, I highly reccomend it. Johnny said some really wild things regarding D/A victims and grooming. He got 3 apologies from Joshua that sounded sincere and he still chooses to call him a groomer and predator with absolutely NO evidence. If I were Joshua, I would sue for defamation. Johnny is making a joke out of the word and meaning of "grooming" and it's really upsetting. I've texted my teenage daughter's best friend before, I am friends with all my kids' friends on social media and we comment back and forth, by Johnny's standards, I would be a groomer for that. 🤦‍♀️ i always back victims, I just think there is enough proof that Joshua is the actual victim in this situation.

Olivia did a fantastic job here as always, but there are a couple other things that stood out to me from SWOOP’s video that she didn’t mention:
    1) Johnny straight up stole a bunch of Adam’s stories with Colleen and pretended they happened to him with Josh. He even lied about Adam’s allegations and said things happened to Adam that Adam had never claimed. SWOOP found multiple examples of Johnny contradicting himself in major ways or giving dates that were wrong and infeasible.
    2) There are some very damning allegations about Johnny doing many of the things he lied about Josh doing. He was video chatting regularly with multiple young kids, he and his friend were encouraging those kids to drink on camera, and he even talked about them in a sexual way. He’s still in a groupchat with at least some of these people to this day, so he absolutely knows he’s lying when he says “it’s inappropriate for adults to be friends with minors.”
This is just the tip of the iceberg, so I encourage people to watch it. I agree with the crush theory, but this became something so much darker than just hurt feelings.

But his way of dealing with those feelings has been completely inappropriate. He’s on a rampage and not making good decisions or acknowledging the harm his current actions are causing. The lies aren’t necessary. Taking advantage of others’ pain isn’t necessary. He needs to reflect on how his actions hurt both himself and others.

So, he gave him the phone number to assist as help him learn the ropes. Johnny took that to stalk Josh and show up to random events, sometimes with no notice. Johnny and his parents also badgered and belittled Josh as to why he hadn't proposed to Colleen already.
I fully believe Johnny is still a fan of Colleen's and is using this trumped up story to take away the narrative that Colleen is a bad person and that Josh is the true monster. It's a revenge tactic, because Josh never returned Johnny's interest in him.

I’ve been standing with Josh since the divorce
I smelled a rat (Colleen and her husband and friends) and knew they were exploiting his emotions and pain for their gain
I hope he more and more and more gets the support he deserves through all the bull he’s been put through for just loving someone who didn’t love him.

I just had this epiphany… When Johnny says “what Josh did to me is WAY worse”. I think he did have a crush on Josh. Josh did not reciprocate. And ultimately disappeared from Johnnys life. And when Johnny says with such conviction that What Josh did to him was worse …..Josh essentially broke his heart if you will. Johnny felt that on a real level and feels he was wronged by Josh. So when he says what Josh did to him was way worse that’s true for Johnny internally …..but externally he just making these false allegations that he can’t show receipts for. He is really reaching with the examples he does give. Johnny probably wasn’t counting on being asked so pointedly about the grooming by swoop or anyone else, and thought that he could just continue saying he doesn’t have to talk about what happened to him. And because Johnny had feelings for Josh, to which Josh did not reciprocate, I believe this is how internally Johnny justifies saying that Josh was grooming him. Johnny is equating his feelings for Josh to being groomed.

Johnny is internalizing his feelings and upset that they never got any closer. That they never "took the world by storm". When you think about what we know about Johnny now and the lengths he’s willing to go it makes sense that josh apologized in that way. He already had experienced the Johnny we now know(obsessive, and dramatic and emotional) so in his mind he’s apologizing for hurting Johnny and he’s validating Johnny feelings by being as soft and gentle as he can with his words. Everyone took it as “if he’s apologizing then he’s guilty” but if you actually read it and hear what he’s saying it’s not that at all. Josh’s apologies were as grown up and gentle as they could be considering Johnny outright tweet he was a groomer. It’s insane really.

You know what makes me the saddest about this whole situation… imagine Johnny wasn’t like this. Imagine he wasn’t so entitled and self absorbed and thought he should be handed things. Imagine he worked hard and became successful in the entertainment industry.
When people asked how he got his start, he’d say: “when I was 16, I met one of my idols. He said he would mentor me, and help me start my UA-cam career. He liked a parody Twitter account I ran of one of his characters, and asked me to run the official one. I was so excited, and nervous, but I took the job seriously and it was very successful. I would run my ideas for my own channel by him sometimes, and occasionally I would go to his shows. He’d introduce me to others in the industry, and I did a lot of networking. I went to auditions, grew my UA-cam channel, and almost 4 years to the day we met I landed my first pilot.”
That story, the “what could have been” would have been heartwarming and Josh would’ve had an opportunity to share his success with someone else, a feeling he didn’t get to experience with his own wife. I’m sure that’s how Josh thought it would go, listening to his apologies. Naive? Maybe. Instead, because of Johnnys specific actions, more and more teens will instead say “I went to a show to see my hero and they wouldn’t even let me give them a hug.”

Yes I have said this exact thing. If Johnny wasn't an absolutely obsessed asshat, I think his relationship with Josh would have panned out just fine. Josh could have actually helped Johnny. Maybe helped him go through whatever depression or mental struggle he was going through at the time. But no, Johnny had to make Josh "ghosting" him (really just having his whole fucking life fall apart) into a personal vendetta against Josh and add sharp, grainy salt to the wound. It's actually pretty disgusting and I feel SO bad for Josh. Johnny is pretty fucking evil.

See to me, I don’t think Josh giving out his number to Johnny was the biggest deal. For starters, the societal standards when he did that were a lot different than they are now. Even in a year societal standards will change. But that aside, Johnny was an aspiring UA-camr and Josh thought he could be a mentor to him because he already was a UA-camr. He likely did that with the purest of intentions, ie: he’s been through it, at least to some degree, so he can help Johnny navigate the industry. But the biggest thing is this was done with Johnny’s family present. At the end of the day, when you’re a kid, your parents decide what they are and aren’t comfortable with for you (within the confines of the law). They knew their son wanted to be successful on UA-cam and they knew Josh had some success and his wife had even more success. The way Johnny continually paints it is that his parents were proud that he’d made this industry connection with Josh.
The idea that there has to be this gigantic divide in life between kids and adults not only isn’t realistic but it’s kind of ridiculous. Coaches mentor kids, teachers mentor kids, big brother/big sister programs mentor kids, aunts and uncles mentor their nieces and nephews. When grooming is painted with the ridiculously broad brush Johnny has attempted to paint it with (“uh so yeah a guy with an ego let me win a roll of duct tape and ghosted me after his life fell apart and before that, he hung out with me twice in public places, so yeah obviously he groomed the sht out of me”) it sets the dangerous and false precedent that any adult that ever speaks to any kid that isn’t their kid is trying to groom and in some way take advantage of them. Are there adults in trusted positions like coaches, teachers, etc, that do groom and take advantage of kids? Absolutely. And they’re the worst of the worst bc they know they’ve been given trust by the parents and the kid, too. But it feels like every day, we’re trying to draw these black and white lines in the sand for human behavior and the majority of human behavior is too nuanced and situational for that. I mean even the sentiment that kids and adults should never talk to each other about sex isn’t accurate. On the surface it seems like it should be, bc you think, why would adults ever need to talk to kids about sex? But then you remember that when kids get the sex talk at school, they’re told to ask the adult giving the sex talk/class questions if they have any. It’s also possible that kids will still be curious and continue asking their parents or another trusted adult questions even after the sex talk. When it comes to boundaries between kids and adults and what constitutes the crossing of them, I think a lot of this stuff is instinctual. Most people know when they’re crossing a line. Most will admit that the inappropriate behavior (even just talking) felt abnormal to the adult who did it. All I know is that the Colleen situation brought grooming behaviors into the forefront of discussions in a way that way seemed informative and forward thinking, but now, Johnny gives naysayers the easy out to say, “Look what happened with that Johnny kid. He was calling a guy that barely even talked to him a groomer. It’s just a snowflake being too sensitive again, they weren’t really groomed.”

What it all comes down to is who was the one cultivating the relationship. Colleen was definitely getting involved, intentionally and purposely developing relationships with underage fans.
Between Joshua and Johnny, it was Johnny who was pushing, visiting, asking for attention, trying to get closer. It really seems like Joshua was trying to keep some distance there. He actually apologised for not letting Johnny get as close as he (Johnny) clearly wanted. That is not grooming.
The allegations definitely feel like revenge against Joshua for not getting the type of relationship he wanted.

  • @palomabennettwordpressblog7490

You can groom a child or an adult & it doesn’t need to be sexual to be grooming. Here is the definition: “Grooming is a form of abuse that involves manipulating someone until they’re isolated, dependent, and more vulnerable to exploitation. “ That being said I don’t think Johnny was groomed by Josh.

Expanding the definition of grooming takes away its power. Grooming is calculated; it involves isolation, the keeping of secrets, inappropriate intimacy. It’s like you guys said: had Johnny claimed that Josh was inappropriate, that’s pretty valid. But grooming is something specific, heinous, and calculated. This also isn’t me trying to limit who can say they were groomed or not but words have meaning and that can’t just be expanded to include inappropriate behavior on levels that were not severe or as severe as grooming.

I can FULLY see Johnny having a crush on Josh (especially in the "as IF I had a crush on Josh" BS. Lol how many of us have said that after a crush rejected us to make ourselves feel better?) And being spiteful and hurt that it wasn't reciprocated. Like ok yeah sure, Josh interacted with him, but it certainly doesn't seem nearly as nefarious as it was played up to be by Johnny. Like sure he ran a twitter for Josh's character, BUT that's after he ran a parody twitter and Josh asked someone ELSE because he thought THEY ran it. Like idk I just don't see any actual ill intent on Josh's part. Especially given how willing he was to hand over what he had in screen recording instead of screenshot but just in general his willingness. If he had something to hide, it would've shown up SOMEWHERE (especially Johnny's screenshots because HES the one making accusations so of course he'd keep anything that'd incriminate Josh) so idk I think johnnys just hurt Josh wasn't into him
