I was surprised to hear how similar the 60's and Hot pickups were, and man, that new pickup is PUNCHY! Hits you in the gut! Congratulations, Aguilar!
I just ordered the Hot 4p and the DCB 4p for my Fender Blacktop jazz bass. I’m pretty excited.
I’ve tested the 4P-60 & the 4P-hot. Out of those two pickups, I chose the 4P-60. The DCB sounds bright in this video, but I’m sure it would sound great in a ‘70’s style P bass (ash body, maple neck & fretboard)
The 4p-hot for me
None of these sound like a p-bass to me and are extremely dark/filtered in the midrange which is where it would sound like a p-bass if it was going to
40p-60 for me

I don't like the sound of any Aguilar pickup for some reason. Probably same reason I found the Tone Hammer 500 dull. Something in the low mids is not there I think. Or the high end sounds compressed...
