The fact that Jordan Love threw for 4000 yards this past season and it was his first as an NFL starter. And the Bears have NEVER had a QB throw for 4000 yards in franchise history, over 100 years, that is just an insane stat that's almost hard to believe. I know one thing, they have him set up as good as any rookie QB I've ever seen that has come into the season as the 1st pick overall. Time will tell, but if this goes array, wheeeewwww🫣🫣🫣

Acho is wrong for this take - this is a completely different Bears regime which, over the the past 3 years have proven adept at finding talent and holding players accountable, constant upgrades to the roster in general as well as coaching staff and supporting elements... a rebuilt does not happen in one two or sometimes even three off-seasons but this team in two seasons has gone from cellar-dweller to playoff contender and has an immense amount of draft capital and salary cap for the season coming up to continue

The Bears failed those QBs because they never put a good O-line and team together … this is the first time I’ve even seen a Bears team with this much talent in my life , and I’m 44 years old … Justin would’ve made the playoffs easy with this group and this O-line .. So I don’t expect anything less than that with a supposedly generational talent QB and the third easiest schedule in league

@@9etherbeing866 Ah. This seems to be The Place. "Fields can't read defenses." Do you have a *receipt* for that lobotomy? Because unlearning how to read them is not possible, & Fields was shown to read them ua-cam.com/video/QuhUbISnr8s/v-deo.html at an advanced level, backed by stats & the only person who _tried_ to track down the source of that meme found it to be a rumor. Don't worry, I wouldn't expect anyone here to know that.
But if we got _that_ "obvious thing" wrong about Fields, what *else* might be demonstrably wrong? What about "he holds onto the ball too long?"
That applies to a QB failing to throw to an open receiver from a clean pocket. The way games are filmed one normally can't see (11 minutes into ua-cam.com/video/0nd2Ac1haEQ/v-deo.html) receivers clogging up the passing lanes, but we *can see* the pocket collapsing on Fields *as his teammates run actively away from blocks* ua-cam.com/video/glpaya0xz-4/v-deo.html regularly, something most fans dismiss as 'normal.'
The first 23 minutes of that link being one half of one game shows more Deliberately Missed Blocks than most teams whiff on accidentally All Year.
If you think this is long, I'm actually leaving a _LOT_ of stuff out. I'm sticking to what I have on film. Speaking of which, for Caleb to be 'Generational,' his college highlights, the only thing we can possibly judge this rating by would have to be better than any college highlights of anyone This Generation. It should Be Impossible to find anyone whose college highlight reel looks Even Close to how good his is.
Not only is Fields a better rusher, ua-cam.com/video/5JO1PsupF_U/v-deo.html it's not even in the same tier when it comes to passing. Fields send low missiles that don't give defenders time to adjust & make plays on that drop right in the hands of his receivers. The same kind of thing that makes Darnell Mooney knock them down in surprise.
Fields has gotten blamed for 29 different things that are either untrue or not any QB's responsibility. They went on a 3-week streak in '22 where they led the NFL in offense & *the **_TEAM_* lost all 3 games prompting people to say "this proves that Fields can't win games." He did that with _that_ o-line, with *that* receiver & Chase Claypool.
Anyone care to know what I left out?

@@JWLSports actually you are calling out outliers and acting like it’s the norm. The Saints were the Aints until Sean Payton. Remember all those great New England teams from before Bellichick? All it takes is a coach who cares to win regardless of logo. Still, you're right in this case despite perhaps not remembering why. NFL team owners are _business_ owners.
I don't even know if a Single One Cares about winning outside of what's his name trying to buy a ring for his Falcons now.
What you get are mainly egomaniacs who like to pretend they know what they're doing (Jerry Jones) or those who prefer to never expose themselves & are hands-off. That's what the Bears have. & the end result could be they stumble into a Sean Payton.
Or what they have. After a week 5 game in '22 media was all over Eberlfus to explain wtf happened that Fields stopped himself mid-launch from throwing to Wide-Open receivers. He looked So Unnatural doing it that people watching that game thought he'd been concussed.
The the Bears _didn't take him in_ to the blue tent after he did the same thing at least twice more the same game & it became clear how they could know he wasn't concussed without checking or why they weren't surprised. They _ordered him to_ not throw to certain receivers on certain plays in advance & Fields was enacting those orders.
He'd stop himself after the receiver turned & he could read their jersey # & realize it belonged to someone he was ordered not to throw to.
For _weeks_ Eberflus tried shutting up reporters who Dared To Question Him by angrily chop-waving his hand. Then, worse, although he didn't name names, Fields called out his coaches after week 7. Eberflus went into panic mode.
Weeks 8-10 the Bears led the NFL in offense proving that play-calling _was_ The Only Problem with this offense. After that however, Eberflus returned to calling the previous play-set & You The Fans dismissed all this. But didn't you notice something odd in this story?
How did the Bears Respond to Fields calling out his coaches?
Surely that's not something you shrug off. If Justin *Herbert* had publicly said "my coaches are confusing me & I don't know what they expect me to do (on the field)" someone would get fired. So how did the _Bears respond_ to finding out that one of their own coaches was sabotaging their offense?
      With dead silence.
The owner didn't care enough to even worry about internal affair being aired publicly. The HC whose job supposedly depended on winning with This QB said & did absolutely nothing. & the GM who hired that HC & whose career could be haunted by trading away a quality QB for less than the #1 pick could get him also was completely unconcerned that someone was undermining His Team.
Hands-off owners allow their staff to do whatever they want, no accountability. Poles & Eberflus for whatever reason wanted Their Pick in at QB. If Bellichick had responded to finding out Mac Jones was seeking advice outside the Pats with Dead Silence, we'd all know Jones was a goner. When the Bears _did respond_ to Fields' public cry for help with Dead Silence, _I knew _*_he_* was a goner. The rest of NFL fandom seems to have Deliberately Forgotten all this for some reason.
Wanna see something funny? Someone spliced Fields' college highlights together with Williams'. Can you _see_ it? ua-cam.com/video/5JO1PsupF_U/v-deo.html.
Fields is a better rusher & _FAR_ more accurate passer! Poles & 'Flus got what they thought they wanted, but they never checked to see if it was as advertised. They did all this to get Their Pick in & went to all that effort & they *got a **_downgrade_** at QB!!*
      Karma, Baby.

You can say what you want but going on now 75 years or so of history is screaming at us that this is going to be a disaster. Chicago has not successfully drafted and developed a QB in the better part of a century. Different owners, different GMs, different coaches, players come and go, history passes us by but one stable fact has remained and that its the Bears can not draft a QB. I get the inherent fallacy of believing that just because the past has been bad can't mean the future will but at some point there has to be something to it. Consider this, there have been a few teams through NFL history that really have historically struggled mightily to draft and develop a QB.. not just Chicago so lets look at what those teams have in common. Cleveland and the Jets also have an atrocious record of drafting and developing a QB. Forget about the organizational dysfunction for a moment which certainly exists but there are other factors possibly at play in these QBs struggling. These cities they play in are cold and very windy cities and the divisions they play in have a lot of outdoor stadiums and other windy conditions. Isn't it possible that the major underlying factor in these QBS struggling to find consistency is the inherent inconsistency of always playing in cold windy games. Every once in a while a guy comes along who transcends those conditions but usually they wind up on a team with a great history of success and have offensive schemes in place that help the QB. Chicago, an also the Browns and Jets, historically are very dysfunctional and have defensive cultures in place which simply make it more difficult for a young QB to thrive... it just does. So for now, I'll maintain my stance on Caleb that I think he will struggle and eventually fail as every Chicago QB has before him until the Bears prove they can actually develop a young QB and Caleb proves me wrong.

You don't have to "devlop" a polished product, which is why it's crucial to draft appropriately, particularly at Qb. The right Qb will only evolve and become a great inevitably if coached right and had the appropriate personnnel around em. Jay Cutler was whom he is and you witnessed him even thrive for that very first yr under Larc Trestman wheb the Bears had a good scheme that wasn't figured out and productive wrs. Acho says he played with some of the Bears former Qbs...How MANY exactly because you're literally talking about the league's oldest franchise🤨🤔 They don't have a dome stadium yet to date which would help the passing game thrive with a solid Qb and is a reflection of the run the ball with a great defense method. The Bears have simply never catered towards valuing the Qb position as one of Greatness. This wouldn't have been the case with under better ownership and FO management.

I don't NOT agree with you! I totally agree that history WILL NOT affect today's players. With that being said, I understand his take and here's why; the Bears (the McCaskeys, old president Ted Phillips, et al, in general) have been known to only model their teams after George Halas' ideas. Run the ball and play great defense. I've watched this team since 1979 and I've tried so hard to believe that narrative wasn't true. I even got into multiple arguments with others DEFENDING against that narrative that the organization wasn't worried about changing (or updating) their philosophy to a more pass happy offensive genre. But the more facts piled up, the more I couldn't defend them anymore. It sucks that they are the only team w/o a 4000 yard passer. Does that define a team?? Absolutely not. But it puts into perspective the type of organization and where their focus is and what they do or don't care about. I've heard and seen many analysts and former Bears coaches close to the organization say the McCaskeys have been quite stubborn and have resisted change knowing that the league has left them behind....UNTIL...Ryan Poles and Kevin Warren got here and I am guessing that the McCaskeys FINALLY decided to step into the lime light and model their team after current iterations of NFL teams. Again, does CW need to throw for 4000??? Nope. Can the Bears still have a great defense and run the ball?? Of course! But NOW, they will have an actual passing attack that can win games not only on the ground but through the air as well....especially when you NEED to. That's just MY opinion. I actually think Acho is a pretty decent analyst but, like ALL analysts, he sometimes can't really hit his mark when trying to explain his opinion! 😂😂😂

I don't get why dude thinks it's totally absurd to think that about the Bears. In fact he's proving that it's not completely absurd at all. First, dude said himself that unless it's the same GM, the same coaches the same this or that, the same everything, then yeah those reasons why Williams will be a bust. Except well it hasn't been the same GMs, it hasn't been the same coaches/coordinators/players. They constantly change things and the Bears STILL haven't been able to succeed at the quarterback position whatsoever in forever.
That right there is an unfathomable way alone that proves it's been the Bears. The results speak for themselves. They not only keep failing at QB they've yet to ever develop ANY meaningful quarterbacks, ever! 🤯
Lastly, how his reasoning is even more flawed, it contradicts itself. There's one thing that the Bears have never changed and has stayed the same for decades and technically even longer than that. Ownership! The one thing that keeps bad franchises bad franchises over and over again, year after year, failed player after failed player, OWNERSHIP.
If the Bears F this up again well then not so crazy to think that just maybe, just maybe it could be the Bears who were at fault the entire time.
But hey, if and when they undoubtedly fail at QB again and Caleb busts, Chicago can look at the bright side. We'll be able to admit, agree, and start addressing the prob being all on the same page. 👍
Goooood luuuuuck making THAT kind of change and finally fixing the infinite dumpster fire known as the Chicago Bears quarterback position! 🤣
    🤦‍♂

Couldn't have stated that better myself. Fan since 1979 and I've seen the McCaskeys be stubborn asl and NOT try to adjust to today's NFL....there's NO EFFIN WAY that you are a flagship franchise, at one point had the most wins in the NFL and you let your team sink to the depths of mediocrity. IMHO, they're just waiting for either:
      A. This new stadium which will be in Arlington Heights gets done.
      B. Virginia McCaskey to pass away
      C. BOTH
...to finally sell this team, which after (A) will be worth upwards of 10B or more depending on if they add a hotels or hotels and other businesses. All that area will be there's to sell!! They wouldn't even need to sell entirely...they could just keep a minority stock in the team and STILL be set for life for that entire family!
