anyone else taking a trip down memory lane, listening to all the good punk bands when we were in high school? Just some punk skateboarders with nothing to lose, nothing to worry about. Just living in that moment. Love Strung Out, love this song. So many good memories.
36. Still skate transition almost daily even after some serious injuries, still listen to 90s punk, still rocking band shirts dickies and vans. I refuse to grow up
That's exactly why I'm here. High school teacher, 30 years old but I feel 15 when I'm hearing this. Still know every damn word. Gonna share it with some of my students. Gotta keep this stuff alive!
It's that line " I just comb my hair and wash my face walk straight ahead and keep my pace. Don't think about nothing and everything will be all right" that is so sincere, down to earth and very relatable to anyone going through hard times that it gets me everytime. ..Haven't listened to strung out in so many years...very nostalgic
Ryan Carey man my best friend passed awhile back but strung out was his favorite band if it wasn't for Him I would have never gotten into them unfortunately I was on the west coast when his funeral was on the east coast otherwise I would have done the same thing
One of my favourite songs by anyone ever. Twisted By Design helped me through some hard times and this song still gives me goosebumps. I kept on at a friend for years to check it out, 8 years later he comes to me and said "I just listened to that Strung Out album.... You were right, it is amazing" and he isn't the type of person to say it unless he meant it.
i LOVE my BROTHERS!!! Been in the Strung Out band FAM since 99' From back stage to fast cars to dive bars, I've got to experience it all with them!! CHEERS TO ALL YOU OTHERS THAT STILL GET GOOSEBUMPS!!
This song means so much to me it's hard to listen to without getting choked up. It has so many amazing memories attached to it. This is my favorite song ever written. Thank you Strung Out.
I can see it in your eyes I can hear it in your voice the signs are obvious that all we had has run its course and I don't mind giving up the upper hand in this little charade cause I've spent too many nights here on the floor waiting for something inside you to change Don't look back in anger now is all that you can see cause angers all I got to keep me warm when you're away and I know that this is nothing new but tonight it's all I know disconnect myself from your memory and never feel anything at all to justify with all your words don't mean anything to me cause I've cut you off So here we stand and face each other we've got nothing to say a flashback to another time when silence was a welcomed friend now I'm sorry I can never really say all the things going on inside my head silence is a justified expression of my war now nothings like it was before Don't look back in anger now is all that you can see cause angers all I got to keep me warm when you're away and all your words and all your actions don't mean anything to me cause I've cut you off Don't look back at anger Don't look back at anger Don't look back at anger It's just a memory It's easy to forget your face and it's easy to survive in this place without you, without you I just comb my hair and wash my face keep straight ahead and keep my pace just think about nothing, I might never be alright well I got my friends, I got my pen got a million distractions to keep me warm and I know that I'll be alright, that I'll be alright
@schm0sbyy989 I'm 25 now :) Things have been good! Finishing up my degree next year, moved cities. Life has been pretty good to me these days. Thanks for this blast from the past!!
i'm 17 right now, and those days are just about to end for me, im a senior. i know im already generation but like this was the way to live. love getting old punk tapes. but whether its this generation or the last i'm gonna miss it.
bobrulerofall Never too late to revive something like that, you just need to bring up some of your friends and go for it. If you don't have friends, then it's never too late to make some!
h Haven't listened to this in over ten years. Rediscovered this little gem at the perfect time to assist in the recovery after the devastation of September 11th 2017. Onward and upward.
For me, this was a time when I was just discovering music sharing, I think maybe even after Napster, like Limewire maybe? I've never heard of the band or the song, and a friend of mine said that her boyfriend was annoying her because all he listens to is this song on the way to school. So I downloaded it (took like 30 mins of course) and played it. Then played it again. Then didn't stop playing it. If I ever burn a CD again, this will absolutely be one of the songs on it.
I think early face to face gets the slight nod over these fellas, as well as NOFX, blink (yup), lagwagon...it's close. But hey, all these bands are fucking ridiculous and who's better than who can get silly. This song fucking rules. That's the takeaway. I take back what I said about early face to face. The best Strung Out songs can hang with them.
My dad introduced me to every punk/rock band I know from the 70s to the 90s. To be fair, he was only 18 when I was born in 92. Hes not that old even today.
janessa laboucan dag nasty And All - she's my ex Schreen Long distance I hope these are new to you because when you hit play you'll be in heaven. What are your 4 or 5 favorite bands? Darn I really wish I was hearing them for the first time. Oh so good.
90's punk had it right, I go right back to this era when I'm feeling good and want good hard cords. One of the most underrated bands ever, rock every show.
This song is the only song that has severed the ties that kept me sad and crying over a piece of shite who never amounted to anything, even if it was for a minute.
S.O. fan here from the old days before STWB. I like how their style has changed with their perception of life. We grow older and appreciate more and different things. Long live S.O. Also, I have the logo (atom) tatted on my right forearm.
i had my first big break up just out of high school and this song got me through it. 14 years later im going through a hard separation with my fiance and this song still gives me motivated to get out of the house and carry on with my life
i sure hope so. everyone seems so much ahead of me though in life, school, their interests. i know theres only 4 years in high school but i completely wasted it and it's still gonna be gone forever.
This band is by far one of my favorites!!! Meaning it is in the top five for certain. So many good memories to their multitude of albums.Especially braking my bones, my face, and last but certainly not least. ..........My treasured Man Grapes while thrashing it up on my skateboard!! I fucking love you guy's. Sincerely........Great sound, song writing, talented band mates. Your music saved my life. I know it sounds gay, but its true. Love twisted assholes!!
has anyone ever thought this song was kind of an "act II" to Paperwalls? just a little food for thought!! i fucking love this band and everything they stand for and this is by far the best song theyve ever done.
Might be the best break up song ever, when you've finally come to terms to not allow a person to keep ripping your heart out again and again" to justify with all your words doesn't mean anything to me, because I cut you off".. There's a reason they close their shows with this song every time..
I always escribed this record as METAL/POP those metallic leads are killer.. proper tight and fast.. loved this record as a nipper (that means a young guy to those americans on this page!)
Is he saying "I got you off" or "I cut you off" in the chorus? The lyrics everywhere I can find say it's the former but I feel like the latter suits the song better.
90s skate punk = most underrated genre ever. strung out = most underrated band ever.
Philip Trippe I’ve been in countless fights over my love for this band. Will defend them until the day I die.
It was my favorite punk rock band back then ❤
It’s true
In the 90s, this band and this genre, werent so underrated
Got into some nasty fights over this band. Nothing I'm proud of. Except I was right.
anyone else taking a trip down memory lane, listening to all the good punk bands when we were in high school? Just some punk skateboarders with nothing to lose, nothing to worry about. Just living in that moment. Love Strung Out, love this song. So many good memories.
Yes. Yes I am.
36. Still skate transition almost daily even after some serious injuries, still listen to 90s punk, still rocking band shirts dickies and vans. I refuse to grow up
Fuck. Yes.
10 years later and we’re still here 🤙
Always gotta keep it true.
The world is a better place with this song in it.
That's exactly why I'm here. High school teacher, 30 years old but I feel 15 when I'm hearing this. Still know every damn word. Gonna share it with some of my students. Gotta keep this stuff alive!
Dude I wish you were my teacher, I haven’t had a teacher with hood music taste in years
It's that line " I just comb my hair and wash my face walk straight ahead and keep my pace. Don't think about nothing and everything will be all right" that is so sincere, down to earth and very relatable to anyone going through hard times that it gets me everytime. ..Haven't listened to strung out in so many years...very nostalgic
CZni1776 Just saw them october, still kicking ass. New album is so good.
I love this part of song!!
Dude yesss
Played this at my friends funeral. One of his favorites.
I have the new Strung out and Good riddance album if you wish.
you're friend had great taste, sorry for your loss
RIP to your homie, dude. He'll live on through this beautiful music.
want it at my funeral
Ryan Carey man my best friend passed awhile back but strung out was his favorite band if it wasn't for
Him I would have never gotten into them unfortunately I was on the west coast when his funeral was on the east coast otherwise I would have done the same thing
42 years young. Cause of music like this. Strung Out can do no wrong in my book..
37 years old. A break up. A love lost. A Matchbook set in flames. God bless 90s punk
Hang in there brother I’m 38 and promise it gets better
One of my favourite songs by anyone ever. Twisted By Design helped me through some hard times and this song still gives me goosebumps. I think this song will always make me tear up.
best part - 00:00 - 4:25
i LOVE my BROTHERS!!! Been in the Strung Out band FAM since 99' From back stage to fast cars to dive bars, I've got to experience it all with them!! CHEERS TO ALL YOU OTHERS THAT STILL GET GOOSEBUMPS!!
Hell yes my dude!
This song means so much to me it's hard to listen to without getting choked up. It has so many amazing memories attached to it. This is my favorite song ever written. Thank you Strung Out.
I can see it in your eyes
I can hear it in your voice
the signs are obvious
that all we had has run its course
and I don't mind giving up the upper hand
in this little charade
cause I've spent too many nights here on the floor
waiting for something inside you to change
Don't look back in anger now is all that you can see
cause angers all I got to keep me warm when you're away
and I know that this is nothing new
but tonight it's all I know
disconnect myself from your memory
and never feel anything at all
to justify with all your words
don't mean anything to me
cause I've cut you off
So here we stand and face each other
we've got nothing to say
a flashback to another time
when silence was a welcomed friend
now I'm sorry I can never really say
all the things going on inside my head
silence is a justified expression of my war
now nothings like it was before
Don't look back in anger now is all that you can see
cause angers all I got to keep me warm when you're away
and all your words and all your actions
don't mean anything to me
cause I've cut you off
Don't look back at anger
Don't look back at anger
Don't look back at anger
It's just a memory
It's easy to forget your face
and it's easy to survive in this place
without you, without you
I just comb my hair and wash my face
keep straight ahead and keep my pace
just think about nothing, I might never be alright
well I got my friends, I got my pen
got a million distractions to keep me warm
and I know that I'll be alright, that I'll be alright
Forgot how good this song was!
The ending makes me feel like all is gonna be alright
You didn't understand it and I hope you never will.
I come back to this daily! upvote this c'mon!
Watched them close the set with this tune last night. Man, it still delivers after all these years. Great show.
This was the first punk band I saw back in 1998. Amazing how time flies - and this song still rocks!!
either way this is one of the best Strung Out songs of all time
Faulther agreed
one of greatest lyrical songs ever period
It’s not just one of their best, it is their best!
These guys are amazing! I went to their concert on July 25 with my mom. It was at a bar, I'm only 14. Best concert of my life.
woah 24 now. how's life?
@schm0sbyy989 I'm 25 now :)
Things have been good! Finishing up my degree next year, moved cities. Life has been pretty good to me these days.
Thanks for this blast from the past!!
Favorite band of all time. Seen them too many times to count. Long live the Strung Out Fam!!
90's were such a simple time
Saw these guys in London ontario like 20 years ago. About to see them in Toronto in a week and a half. So pumped!
i'm 17 right now, and those days are just about to end for me, im a senior. i know im already generation but like this was the way to live. love getting old punk tapes. but whether its this generation or the last i'm gonna miss it.

Haven't listened to this in over ten years. Rediscovered this little gem at the perfect time to assist in the recovery after the devastation of September 11th 2017.
Onward and upward.

“Without you”. Great bookends I gotta say.

This song takes me way back when.
I want to make a high school movie with this song playing at the end
One of my top ten all favorite tracks... thank you
Wow. I love watching people hearing strung for the first time.
For me, this was a time when I was just discovering music sharing, I think maybe even after Napster, like Limewire maybe? I've never heard of the band or the song, and a friend of mine said that her boyfriend was annoying her because all he listens to is this song on the way to school. I just teleported back to 1998. Taking "burn cruises" looking for somewhere to skate with my friends at 1 am
This is my most favorite-ist song ever! It’s the only song I ever listen to and then “one more time”, 5-6 times in a row, every time...
awesome song, forgot how much i liked this band
One of the best songs ever. This song is about as old as me and I love it. Can't beat strung out. Except No Use for A Name
Cory Bailey Snuff and Lagwagon can.
And NOFX and Rise Against
Propagandhi, Good Riddance, Ignite, etc...
in punk rock, none can!!
The first album of my dad's that I "borrowed"
janessa laboucan Dads music?
I thought getting old meant listening to softer music, like culture club the police or Garth brooks
My dad introduced me to every punk/rock band I know from the 70s to the 90s. To be fair, he was only 18 when I was born in 92. Hes not that old even today.
janessa laboucan dag nasty
And All - she's my ex
Schreen
Long distance
I hope these are new to you because when you hit play you'll be in heaven.
What are your 4 or 5 favorite bands?
Darn I really wish I was hearing them for the first time. Oh so good.

This song is the only song that has severed the ties that kept me sad and crying over a piece of shite who never amounted to anything, even if it was for a minute.
Best. Song. Ever.

Osti ; c'est toujours aussi bon !
En Tabarnack ma cher !
esta es mi cancion favorita de strung out
Might be the best break up song ever, when you've finally come to terms to not allow a person to keep ripping your heart out again and again" to justify with all your words doesn't mean anything to me, because I cut you off".. There's a reason they close their shows with this song every time..
