- New RELEASE with discount: Waveform's new outdoor 4x4 MIMO log periodic directional antenna. This is the DualPlus Duo antenna as well as the new cables and mounts. This includes a specialty window passage cable to get from indoor to outside without drilling a hole in the house exterior. There is also a new flex mount. In this video I unbox, show, and discuss the products but more videos with testing/performance will be added soon. Waveform sent me these products to review. Omg, that is huge!! I bet it can communicate with one of those plasma orbs.😂
can’t wait for testing 🎉🎉🎉
yes indeed!
I ended up pulling the trigger on this and got it cheaper on their Website by using a Coupon they had for Christmas. I'm gonna try it vs my Original Waveform QuadPro 4X4 Legacy Antenna and see how it does! If it doesn't perform any better then I'll just keep my Original Waveform QuadPro 4X4 Legacy Antenna and send this back but hopefully it will perform better! Waveform does have a really good Warranty I've sent stuff back before after trying some of their Products and they give you 90 day's to return their stuff even if your not happy with it or if it doesn't work out. I'm a huge Fan of Waveform! Their Customer Service is also top notch! I don't remember a Company having such great Customer Service like they do! They stand behind their Products!
@@JoshF151Tech great to hear. Please do let me know how it does. Interested to compare notes!
@NaterTater Will do! Yeah that would be great because it is very Area specific!
Good news Nate let us know some Speedtest when you get time happy holidays
@@GlenBlanchard of course! Video coming soon
Great content Nate, Happy Holidays to you and your family.
@porky7753 thank you! You and yours as well.
Really looking forward to how well it all works and compares. Im in a dead zone and need more than 1 bar of service. Tried all networks and it's still terrible. Even tried the Verizon extender and still at best 1-on a good day 2 intermittent bars
What a beast. I have the quad pro in the attic and love it!
Me as well! QuadPro in the attic. I will compare to this soon!
@NaterTater looking forward to it. Happy Holidays to you and your family Nate!
Same! I was going to mount it outside, but I need to buy a grounding rod & wire.
Well... I've been told by "a friend" that size really does matter. IF SO... then this one should be a winner.!! Actually I am a little impressed.
Question: Did I understand correctly..?? Is this a DUAL QUAD antenna.??
NEVERMIND... I figured it out. DualPlus Duo = Dual 2X2s That makes sense. I'm gonna have to pay better attention I guess.
Still, it's BIG.
Thanks Nate. Looking forward to the testing.
That's right! It's two 2x2 so combined as a 4x4 setup.
Mr. Nater Tater, I was wondering if using the window adapter piece will reduce signal quality and speed vs using the thicker connection cable by itself? Also, would you still need to use 4 of these new directional antennas to match the 4 connections of the Quadpro 4x4 antenna? If you could please address this in your testing. Can't wait to see your testing video on these. Thanks.
Hi, yes technically the window entry cable has measurable loss but probably not significant when talking about a 30ft cable run. Each DualPlus is a 2x2 MIMO so you only need two (the "Duo") to replace a 4x4 MIMO. Hope that makes sense.
Thanks Nate!
@@Step-n-Wolf 👍
Good information.
Thanks
Yet another Gem by Waveform! I have my Waveform QuadPro 4X4 Antenna in my Attic and it works great! Do you think this Newer Antenna would get better Reliability and faster Speeds vs the Waveform QuadPro 4X4 Antenna? I'm thinking about maybe doing an Upgrade to this Antenna! We do have some Tree's and obstacles blocking the line of sight to the nearest Cell Tower so not sure if this Antenna would be able to get around those or not?
@JoshF151Tech it sounds like I am in the exact same boat so I will find out soon!
@@NaterTaterThanks I look forward to it! Before purchasing it I'll definitely watch your next video on it! Thanks for all you do! Hope you have a great Holiday!
Nate, is this a "line of sight" style antenna like the others they have that are similarly shaped...or is it more like the QuadPro? Haven't had time to watch the video yet, so if you answered in it, apologies.
@h2oskiier30 yes this typically would work best with directly LoS but I am going to test it without that.
Interesting Thanks 👍🏻
Will you be reviewing the yeacomm nr610?
You spelled cellular wrong on your template photo.
whoops. I sure did! Corrected. Thanks!
not sure what happen I posted this the other day but cant find it.. I dont care for this is HUGE and expensive and waveform should use a one cable system like Elsys AmpliMax Ultra 5G Outdoor unit is using..one simple cat cable ... hopefull oneday waveform will go that way..
@jb51010 different types of devices. You cant use ethernet for an antenna.
@@NaterTater I understand that maybe waveform should go that way, one nice unit and one nice cable not all that other stuff thenit changing every couple months.
How do I install this on my AT&T 5g gateway??
waveform can provide a guide
@ thanks man!
In my experience, if you want LogP antennas to work, you'd better be able to SEE the tower from the antenna plane. Trees will render it useless.
Not in my experience. I'm using LogP's in a 4x4 configuration aimed at a TMO tower that is over 5 miles from my location. There are interviening trees but not terrain that affects signal. Currently for band 41 RSRP is -85dBm with RSRQ of -11dBm. Latest speed test has a ping of 29 with 380 down and 77 up. For a holiday weekend those of far from useless.
Thanks to both for sharing your experience. Its the fun and challenge with cellular, there are lots of variables and rarely a 1 stop solution for all.
Yeah, cellular always feels more like voodoo than science. I might have different trees or more trees or a different elevation than srcrewchief89 but I got no functional signal with LPDA while good speeds with a directional panel. But I’d still recommend a panel antenna if you’ve got forest between you and a tower.
5G on Mars now....Super.
Worth watching for the awkward pause.

@@RouterRelated 😆 did you see the very end?
@@NaterTaterpew pew pew
Performance is all that matters! Hopefully it's better than the Original Waveform 4X4 Legacy Antenna!
just like always no speed test comparison.. stop pushing their junk.. I have a 2x2 with with the old cables rs600 and tried a new quad pro my 2x2 smoked it... the cables are harder to manage but you get what you pay for have had them cables over 7 years still going strong...
@ingenui hi again. I replied to your similar post on my other video. Copied here for your convenience. Hi, thanks for your input, this video is the technical specs comparo. For speed tests that demonstrate the performance improvement of these Waveform antennas check out ua-cam.com/video/RFZBbSg_pzE/v-deo.html
They definitely aren't junk! It depends on where you place the Antenna and what kind of Antenna you have and what type of Gateway/Modem you have it hooked up to. Cellular Home Internet is very Area specific and it depends on a lot of things when it comes to the Reliability and Speed that you'll get.
