You can pre soak your beans in the PRESSURE cook 8 minutes add 2 inches of water over the beans. I rinse the beans Then follow your recipe as usual add the rest of ingredients and pressure cook the meal.
if you like it thick take out 1/3 of the cooked beans and put them into the blender , put the paste back into the pot and it will thicken up really quickly
what would be the easiest and most filling rice cooker meal for a guy who needs proteins and veggies and healthy carbs. In the gym everyday and I need something easy to make that tastes good, but also extremely healthy to the point of living on it.
Inf7cted Hmmm...that's a good question. Chicken and fish are lean meats that provide protein as well as all 9 essential amino acids. You could get protein from veggies as well but there aren't any plants that will provide all the essential amino acids in one like the meats so you just have to know how to combine what veg with what veg to get them all. A healthy carb might be something 100% whole wheat or maybe a brown rice. I'd have to look into that more.
p chris Why not use black eyed peas! Nice. With canned you really only need to warm them through. I’d add them when the ham hocks are done and pressure cook for only a few minutes.
What about gas? When I make navy beans we never have a problem with it because I soak for a long time and rinse several times. I want to try your recipe and just thought I’d ask.
Looks like the ham is not done to me..it is supposed to fall off..you are prying it off..it is not done at all....fyi...pressure cooking ..is not a good way for your exercise in ham and beans..it appears to me....
Inf7cted it might be over cooked. I usually put mine in the pressure cooker for the minimum time suggested by my machine. Cook times are very short in a pressure cooker.
If you are vegan, we applaud you but you do not have to disregard social graces and insult others. It's your choice to be crude. I find the vegan diet much too fatty, between the oils and sugars and carbs, it's a high calorie commitment; I definitely respect your way of life.
Must have black pepper...very nice video!
Thanks for teachings, esp. water level , oil, and not adding salt. This looked delicious.

Hello. This looks very good and exactly what I was looking for! Is there anyone you have the recipe written down so that I could print?
Can I use Black Eye Peas? Also, if I used canned beans, I'll rinse them, but when should I put them in after pressure cooking the Ham Hocks?
