Ham hocks make amazing bean soup
I’m not a huge fan of pork, but will likely try this with turkey-ham. Side note, thank you soooo much for doing a video today. The distraction was appreciated 💕
Spicy Myrtle!!...for a name.
This may be weird but the name ‘Eleanor’ instantly came to me. Not what I’d name my instant pot, but just wanted to say that. For some reason Eleanor screams out to me haha!!!
I absolutely loved this please do it again anytime thank you
Minnie Mae! I have the six quart Ultra...love it. How smart that you've got this while your kitchen is out of commission. Your soup looked yummy.
I just gave my 8 quart to my in need neighbor. Miss having one but don’t need a big one. Love this size. You’ve given me a great idea. Now I have something for my Christmas list.
Yum
Why do I want to call him Hi-yo, Silver.
😂 😆 😂
Those shocks would be sooo good in a pot of black- eyed peas with fresh okra pods cooked on top. Of course served over cooked fluffy white rice. Oh what a wonderful dinner.🤗
🌹 It looks delicious! My husband could live on ham and bean soup! I will definitely be trying your recipe! ♥️
I love my Instant Pot. I have the big one. Looks delish. Next purchase will be the Ninja Air toaster oven the fold away one.
Tiny would be a great name.
I use my mini for making rice. Rinse three times, put equal amounts water to rice and cook for 4 mins. NPR and voila the best fluffy rice! I have the 3 qt ultra, 6 qt duo, and 8 qt ultra. I use the 3 qt almost daily and the 8 qt is the runner up. Love love the ultra models! Btw just push down on the button till it clicks, don’t need to turn it at all. You turn it to pop it back up if needed. But it automatically pops back up on its own when you open the lid so it’s ready to go for next time.
Great comfort food!
Looks yummy!!!😋
Mirepoix is pronounced ... meer-pwa
OMG that looks fabulous! I think Phil thought it tasted fantastic by the um sound I heard! Lol. Great appliance - I might have to think about getting one.
Be safe.
I have the 6 qt Cosori pressure cooker. It came with the glass lid as well so I can use it as a slow cooker. With the Instant Pot brand that glass lid was an extra purchase. I adore my pressure cooker!
Congratulations on your new Instant Pot. Under the circumstances it could be called ‘Savior’.
I don't really need anything bigger than the 3 qt for us (4) most of the time. I love how fast and easy they are to use.
You have heard the saying...cutie pie well name your pot...Cutie Pot!
In French, oi is pronounced WAH. So, Moi is mwah, mirepoix is Meerpwah. Voila! I bought an 8qt Instantpot, for making stock, and it’s perfect for cooking down a canner load of tomato sauce.
That looks delicious.
Thanks for showing us how! What about Saucy Sally! Lol
In case you have not found the pronunciation for this word as yet, it is MEER-A-PWA! It is one of those hard French words.
Looks great and that is my husbands favorite soup. Did you know the slots on the IP handle are designed to hold the lid so you don’t have to lay it on the counter?
Ha... now i want to can a batch of beans and bean soup !!! :)
I had a big one that died. Just replaced it with this little cutie. It does need a cute nick name. I love mine. I use the heck out of it. Thanks for the video!
Scrumptious! For the name, how about "Minnie"?
Looks delicious!!
I’m making this tomorrow. Can’t wait. Looks great and I know my hubby will love it with some crusty Italian bread. Thanks for the inspiration.
"Mighty Po"
Baby limas are my go to for bean soup. Traditional coming from my grandfather, who served it on bread with a ton of black pepper.
Little Phil ( The name )
I would like to suggest your new little cooking friend be named Lucy. She just looks like a Lucy to me.🤗
Looks delicious,😋 love ham and beens. My guess for a name is Mighty Mini 😊
A beautiful soup. Great kitchen gadget to have too. Thanks for sharing 👍😎
We eat this often year round, but mostly in winter. It is AMAZING!!!
Thanks for sharing, Leisa! 🙂
Naming the pot...... Charley!
Got to get me one of those. Yum! Love this recipe!!
Yum
Great show my friends
That soup looks delicious,thank you
That looks wonderful 😋
Oooo a big buttery slice of cornbread would go fantastic with this.
Bean soup looks so good.
I found this video looking for your approved pressure ham and bean canning video.
So delicious and brings back memories of my mom's ham and Lima bean soup. She always made it with the large lima beans, loved the creaminess of it and we would top it with some diced raw oinion. It was one of my first meals I could make when I was first married and starting to make dinners.
Oh, love the mini pot. I have the older version non-digital mini. I have 3 Instant pots all sizes versions and I use this one more than any of them. I call her 'Mini' :))
Oh, yes I'm with your hubby,...hooked on the large lima beans...absolutely love them.
Bertha. Looks amazing!
Call the instant pot Rocking Rosie after Rosie the riviter from wartime poster.
The bean soup looks delicious. Will have to give it a try one of these evenings when I'm short on time! I saw the same 3-qt Instant Pot on sale 2 or 3 weeks ago at such a hot price, I couldn't pass it up. I already had the plain duo 3-qt, but knew one of my daughters wanted one. When it arrived, and I told her about it, she told me if it was ok with me, she'd rather have my original one since it had the same display her bigger pot did. So, I kept the new one, and she got the old one. I fixed a pork roast in it the other night. It was so good!
Looks good, my first instapot arrives this week, maybe ham and beans are in my future😄
Looks amazing
I made this yummy recipe today! Yum
I got a small instant pot and loved it so much that I bought the 6 qt. We now use the small one at the cottage and take it camping. I made bean soup and let the steam out and bean soup came spitting out of the vent so now when I make it I let it slow release until the pin drops. Made potatoes, corn on cob (cut up in 1/4) , carrots , cabbage and polish sausage. That is really good too.
My 3 qt is named Minnie :)
How do you make ham stock? I’m assuming cook ham bones and water. Do you put any vegetables with it? I guess I wondered if it was very salty?
Not salty at all, but our hams are not sty. I just pressure cook the ham bone in water, but you can add veggies too
We raise our own pigs too. My daughters have now requested ham and bean soup haha!
That is simply a CUTIE PIE
Minnie. The mini instapot.
Little Sally
Your ham looks very good.
Mrs. Potts!
Brilliant!
It looks delicious. I also like lots of crackers.
It is just me and my husband just like you and Phil that little 3 quart instant pot would do me just real good yes it but I got to get me one
great video 👍 Blessings
Geraldine the Instant Pot
Oh, and mirepoix = meer-pwah 😉
I make my beans in my IP as well. I’ll never go back to stove top. I own two 6 qt Ultras and one 3 qt Ultra. I use all three and last year I cooked my entire Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner in my IP’s and that included Butterball turkey breasts. Dinner was ready in an hour and turned out perfectly.
Maybe Alice after Brady bunch housekeeper and Alice's restaurant...
Welcome to insta pot cookers . I now own two makes dinner time easy and fast
The 3 qt is a great size, I use it all the time, most often for rice, or potatoes. It is a nice size for cooking for 2.
You need a nice sharp chef knife, looks like you are using a not so sharp filleting knife. The correct knife makes such a difference when you are tired and wanting to prepare quick. Thanks for this lovely recipe. The ham hock in Australia is the ankle section of the pig. I am looking forward to trying this. also thank you for showing me what an instant pot can do. Blessings.
YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM!! That looks sooooo delicious, Leisa. Thanks for sharing. :-D
Oh my goodness so CUTE*
Lol starting in couple days my electric stove will be disconnected. So got my electric skillet, instant-pot, and my counter oven ready for meal prep. Lol I even have a rotisserie and grill so good here as well. Got a generator always on stand by., but doubt we’ll need it. Worse Scenario there’s always the trusted campfire 😉
Going to try this recipe , sounds really good. TEENY* is a cute name LOL GOOD LUCK with the name.
Bertha😊
That looks great....we don’t use beans for this, we used dried peas. I love it but would like to try yours
My 3 Qt Instapot is named ‘Lil Bit.
I have a chicken by that name, lol.
Meero pwa...
Looks good, reminds me of my job in college ... I would say fewer beans though instead of more liquid, may a cup of dry beans, but thats just me
What are you checking the beans for? Asking for a friend. Lol
Broken beans and most importantly rocks.
I remember my first experience with the newer Instant Pot. I would forget you have to push start as the old one just starts on it’s own. I would walk away to come back frustrated that it didn’t cook!🤬
We don't like white beans. STRICTLY PINTOS FOR US... We love our Pinto Beans & White Cornbread.. ENJOY
Call her Betty
Name suggestion: Tootsy
Looks yummy. “ mighty mini”
So the ratio of water to beans is 32 oz. of liquid or 4 cups water or broth to 2 cups of dry beans? Looks very tasty. Sure beats cooking all day watching the pot so the beans won’t burn!
How long did you cook the soup after you added the ham? It looks delicious!
name suggestion for IP ...Bee Bop lol
Name that pot Little Susie, hahaha.❤️
The bone is where all the flavor comes from the fat as well
Can anyone tell me if the air fryer attachment is worth it on the instant pot?
I don't have an insta pot....could I do this in my pressure cooker instead?
Yes
You get the hang of this pretty girl, and teach us, I will b certified to fly a jet..
Name: Gertrude, and called her Gertie. 😊
I 2nd that! Lol
@Gerty...😄.
How about Porta-Potty?
Name suggestion: Johnny Six. “Johnny six, cooks things quick”. (Watch the movie “Short Circuit” if you don’t get the reference :)
I have a question and im not sure if this is your recipe or someone elses but I knew you would probably be able to help me. The recipe is canning ham and bean soup but instead of celery do you think I could substitute green bell pepper? I will also try this recipe in my instapot as long as there not lima beans... Lol
Yes you can
Mini
Mir -quah
She looks like her name is Dandy or Sandy
Looks delicious but I have a question? Why do you not cook your ham in with the soup? I've never tried it separate before. Also have you ever put carrots or celery in your bean soup? It's so yummy.
Carrots and celery, yes. I would have added if I knew what box i packed them in..........lol
I wanted to puree part of the beans, it would not have worked if I had ham in the pot.
@@SuttonsDaze oh yeah gotcha!! I just didn't know if it was a instapot thing with the ham or not. Lol.
Can you also add a cube of pork back or a half slice of bacon?
Sure!
@@SuttonsDaze I absolutely love your shows. Love love love, I've learned so much.
I dont have an immersion blender. What do I do?
Potate masher
Thanks! I am going to try it for dinner tommorow!
