      Beautiful work! I want to design the multi-layered art like you’re doing, and generally have been told you do it in Illustrator or similar. Is Snapmaker somehow better for this specific type of project or simply a personal choice and not much different than doing it in other programs? Thank you!

      Sorry it's been a pain. It's definitely got its issues and some stuff is downright painful but I've been able to get it to do what I need so far. If you have any specific questions I'm happy to at least take a shot at them. I'm not affiliated with Snapmaker other than making these videos on their stuff but I've been in touch with some pretty helpful folks from the company. For sizing, I grabbed each design, made sure the dimensions were identical for each layer and that the starting point / home point for each were identical as well. I didn't really have any issues but I might be missing what you're asking. Let me know if I can help.

      Hey Steve, yeah - all of the vector work can be intimidating at first but I'd recommend trying out Inkscape. Here's an old video I found that might help with what you need. ua-cam.com/video/S-wIs5HN5cc/v-deo.html In Illustrator, you can press CMD/CTRL Y to show the outlines. There's a way to do this in Inkscape to by changing views: tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/View-Misc.html. Hopefully these links help to get you on your way.

    Jack of all trades-master of none. Caveat emptor to all those overly enthused. There's a reason why your lawnmower isn't a vacuum cleaner and a washing machine all in one. Do your search before biting the carrot.

    • @Mr-pm3jp
      @Mr-pm3jp 3 роки тому

      Pretty sure those are all combined in the new SpaceX suits... Isn't it weird your one hand pushes the button on the lawnmower, vacuum and washing machine? Should you attach multiple specialized robot hands to your arms for each tool?
      Would you prefer stranded on an island with jack of all trades, or a useless master accountant?
      What REALLY disturbs me is the idea that outside nature requires human janitorial maintenance, I'm positive it doesn't, Grass is meant to grow.
      If you had hardwood floors, instead of an expensive ripoff vacuum you could by a printer/washing machine. And actually breathe.
      My hands are a washing machines and double as nose picker, typer, etc.
      Taste the meat/carrot/drink before you cut off your hands.

    • @LRN2DIY
      @LRN2DIY  2 роки тому

      It’s honestly way more intuitive than a lot of CNC and laser software. They designed it to be easy to learn and I had no trouble with it. Like anything new, there will be some fiddling around but they also have several training videos to help you get going.
