    Good video to a point. Downloaded and installed Tools went perfect. BUT there seems to be 2 missing pieces: 1-installing post-processor configuration 2-installing actual machine configuration so the proper machine can be selected during setup.

      Yeah, it's sad Snap Maker seem to not be very active in supporting their printer with arguably de facto standard third party software. Here's hoping that they change their mind and provide a machine file for CNC and Additive manufacturing in Fusion.

    This has really helped me feel less intimidated by CNC in general, it makes it feel a lot more like 3D printing which i'm more familiar with and it taught me some good tips for 360 I didn't know like the ability to make tabs easily. More vids like this please, maybe go over best instructions for specific materials on the laser cutting/etching and CNC? We already have a video talking about different filament types, would be nice to know how to laser cut wood versus acrylic or EVA foam.

    Stupid question, but how can SM2 handle a tool change request by gcode? I tried this for many times in sequence M05 (turn off spindle), M00 (Pause machine), (manual tool change and Z-Zero), M03 P100 and go next, but the machine should request any human interaction --> it don't :(
    I already checked the marlin gcode sheet and it looks like my way of "tool-changing" should work. But again, there is no user interaction request on display. The machine just stopps and thats it.
    Can somebody explain me how this should work here or has this feature not implemented yet?

Then, go back to Fusion 360 - Manufacture Mode - Actions - Post Process. At the TOP of the pop-up menu, select the extracted file folder as the "Configuration Folder", and the "Generic Snapmaker (Marlin) " will be imported automatically. Dumb question - that cnc "wasteboard" will get drilled through and damaged over time because we will always drill a bit lover than our material thicknes is during cuting so we will need to order replacements periodicaly? i know it depends on projects but do we know some average livespan of that part? and is it somehow standardized sizewise or replacements have to be original? maybe im wrong and overthinking it but im curious how that works - never had cnc before :)

    • @Snapmaker
      @Snapmaker  4 роки тому +2

      That's a very common question :) You need to replace the wasteboard when you can't fix the material to it steadily because there are too many grooves, which depands on project as you said. So there is not a lifespan as far as we know. And you don't have to use an original one. Any MDF board with a similar size is OK.

  • @paulhorstink8372
    @paulhorstink8372 4 роки тому

    • @tiloreuter796

    So much content missing that makes this video impossible to follow for most snap maker owners. You're jumping around and skipping so much that the "next step" isn't reachable making this video pointless.

    How to setup tool library?

    • @Snapmaker
      @Snapmaker  4 роки тому

      To add a customized tool, you could try going to Manufacture Mode -> Manage -> Tool Library, create a new library under Local folder, so that you can add a new bit by clicking New Mill Tool icon in the top right corner. If you want to add the default Snapmaker tool library to Fusion 360, follow the video at 7:00. If this does not help still, welcome to share your question with us in any way (such as forum, social media or email :)
