My heart literally dropped when I heard that Moon Shadows took such a disastrous hit!! Ironically I had been using moonshadows matchbook to light my fireplace all week before this historical disaster. God bless this family - I pray that they will raise up and stay vigilant!! This will forever change everyone's lives in Los Angeles and those love the community!!
I went to this restaurant with my mom back in the summer of 2022 we’re from the east coast and just driving down the PCH it was my first time in SoCal and we hit up Moon Shadows for dinner with a sunset and hearing the waves of the Pacific Ocean crash along the rocks. I’m so devastated to hear that this great jewel of a restaurant is gone and hope that one day it returns to its former glory
My fiance proposed to me here, my heart sunk when I heard that it had burned down. I hope that they'll one day rebuild and I hope those there will get through this okay
If you can pre-attach a wrench to your gas line. If you can turn off the gas before evacuation it’s good. If wrench is attached it’s fast to turn off.i learned this from my risk control dad when I was 7 and we lived in California, it’s easy
I'll never understand how restaurants damn near in the ocean burns to a crisp....how does an area on the coast run out of water????? IT'S NEAR THE OCEAN
If there werent enough firefighters to fight it They dont make firefighting equipment that can suck water out of somewhere and then spray it directly somewhere else because almost no fires occur directly next to water bodies, statistically Or maybe they only got there in time to watch it burn and it just wasnt worth saving at that point...you understand how theres just no use speculating? It could be literally anything. The complexity of fighting a fire this size is absolutely mind boggling. Its literally millions of different working parts...
@cameronspence4977 Being a sheep is mind-boggling to me. And yes, they do have fire fighting equipment that can pump water from the ocean, says my husband, who was a firefighter who used this pump. They exist. They should have been used.
@@1Sakks0 The hot, dry wind was blowing at category 2 hurricane speeds down the hill towards the water, pre-heating everything in its path before devouring it. Even if there was equipment handy to pump water out of the ocean, you can't put out a 100mph blowtorch. This was an unstoppable fire. Anyone standing between the blowtorch and the restaurant would be a nugget in seconds. The superscooper aircraft were unable to fly, due to the high winds, but as many have pointed out, the water would have blown away before it hit the ground. I guess you don't live here, or you would understand - the wind was stronger that night than I've ever seen it here, and I've lived on the west side of LA for 75 years.
@1Sakks0 if they exist, I have never heard of them and Ive never heard a single person mention them or seen a shred of evidence of their existence. 99.99% of fires occur far from water bodies. If they do, how much range do those pumps have? Do they interface with the needed firefighting equipment? Do they work alone or is another part needed? Were they able to get them in time before those houses burned? I can keep going. Do you see how pointless being a backseat driver is?
Do not rebuild restaurants and residences on that strip of coastline. The fury of the Chumush Spirits will disciminate you again. Let the coastline go back to Mother Nature.
It's not that big a deal to eat at a fancy restaurant. I'm not in the "power elite" - just a working stiff - and I've dropped $400 on a meal more than once. So what? Jealous?
Apparently this “rich people “ restaurant is paying a living wage to their “not as rich” employees since some of them has been working there since it opened 30 yrs ago.
How are you asking for money when 99.9 percent of your patrons are wealthy including you owners. Pay tf up out of your fat pockets that place has been open for the rich for decades. You people would be fools to donate while you're possibly struggling to find your next meal

I really hope they are able to rebuild! It is a part of So Cal life!! Life long resident here, 4th generation. LA STRONG!!!
We Spent many good times there.....bless you and keep you all.
Notice how its always small businesses doing this and never corporations? We need to get rid of these corporations and have more businesses like this
So sad love love Moon Shadows. Great memories! 💔

Every time I drove by
Moonshadows …. 🌙🌗
I would sing 🎶 out the iconic song by
Cat Stevens 💞💝
😎💯👍 Been There.
Are they going to REBUILD Moonshadows?!?!
Nope. It is already long gone!!!!
@ I understand it’s gone, but they’re rebuilding The Reel Inn down the street, so I was hoping Moonshadows would be rebuilt as well.

Thank a Democrat! ❤️
I never really liked Moonshadows especially the food . The drinks were good I had a few dates there but the loses are enormous.
Rest easy! The power elite dines at NOBU and it's A-OK!

@@omi_god You miss the point entirely. Not surprising.
Rich people restaurant
Who's fault is it that you are poor?
compassion and empathy are free
Or people who just want to have a nice dinner once in a while...low iq ahh comment
WTF does this have to do with rich people?!?!?!?! Are you out of your mind!?!?!?!

Moonshadows is "for the rich"? What are you smoking, and can I have some?
@omi_god Adios owners take care of yor employees
@ You know nothing about this man's business.
@@omi_god you do?
@ I know enough to know better than to blather like this when everyone is suffering.
Raised money really, they don’t want to used their own money. This is just publicity, they dont care about the slaves that overworked for them
