Nostalgia Funny Car is considered a pro class in NHRA's Heritage Series. They run modern parts but the engine is limited to a 21 gal per minute fuel pump, a single Magnito, and a 6-71 supercharger. The chassis range from old NHRA "Big Show" chassis to cars specifically build for Nostalgia Funny Car.

you are looking at being over $10,000 for just the chassis/body you can run a front engine dragster much cheaper kings chassis makes a nice NHRA legal chassis for around $5000
Sacramento Raceway Park is not as entertaining as it used to be! The annual Funny Car Fever was full of nitromethane powered late model cars, along with Pro Mod cars from both coasts...Not the boring alcohol powered stuff you see here. I guess the facility lost its vibe when nearby residential homes were built and the wimpy folks started to complain about "noise pollution."
These are just so much cooler than the current funnies. The noise, the smoke, I love these things.

I was stationed at Travis Air Force Base from 2004-2007. I loved going there to Sacramento.
