Hey Clint, we're thrilled to hear you had a good experience with us! Quick updates for everyone: we now support transatlantic sales if buyers are up for covering the shipping and customs fees.✈📦 Plus, you can now chat directly with sellers to get all your questions answered before buying.💬🚴♂ Thanks for sharing and happy riding!😃🚴♀
Good news! Thanks for continually updating the platform.
Stop worrying about your social media status and actually support your buyers and sellers. Three days with no reply to queries is not good enough. Sort it out.
Sold a gravel bike on buycycle last month. We ended up meeting in person but still thankful for the platform to facilitate that.
There is direct communication with the buyer now 🎉
Thanks Clint, I just. found out about BuyCycle about. a month ago and was wondering what it was like in the real world.
I sold a bike but the whole process is awful. They don't respond to queries, the packaging that is supposed to take three days actually took 11. Its just a terrible experience. E bay is more expensive but i never had an issue in decades.
I haven't used it, but I am about to. Got 2 bikes that need a good home. I need money for parts on a new build I'm doing.
On the buyer side I am nervous as well. I can tell you that you can purchase from Europe if you are in the states. I’m waiting for bike to arrive from Germany. They give you the duty fees and freight up front and I contacted before the purchase to confirm those fees would not change and was assured they would not. Made payment and now waiting. Hoping it arrives in the new condition it shows and I don’t have to try out the buyer protection that is part of buying. Thanks for doing the video.
What was your quoted shipping time ?
Did you get it yet?
Had a couple saved for later when I went to my fit. Compared and saw something cheaper in store I could option up closer to what I wanted and take out that day.
When you say fit, did you get a bike fit ?
Thanks!
Just sold a bike on the platform and had the same hiccups as you. Packing materials took 10 days to arrive. Now waiting for payment but I feel a little better that yours took longer than expected too. Hopefully the payment is released soon since the bike was delivered 4 days ago.
Thanks for this info. Just this week I listed a bike for sale on BuyCycle & yesterday received an offer. I was feeling a bit nervous if I could trust the BC process. Sounds like it went well for you, and that is reassuring.
I'm in the same boat as you now. How did it go?
Well…the sale didn’t happen, & I suspect it was due to technical issues in the BuyCycle systems. I accepted an offer and then (1) heard nothing from BuyCycle nor from the buyer and (2) more offers came in from others after accepting that 1st offer. I emailed support & heard nothing. After a few days - waited several days b/c BuyCycle said something about ~3 days to complete a sale in their system - I accepted a different offer. This 2nd attempted sale had the same issues - complete silence from all parties.
So, I went to the dark side & sold locally on Facebook Marketplace.
I hope your experience goes better.
@daboo2 , lol, what a experience. The thing that worries me is that I placed the ad yesterday, and today, someone wants to buy the bike. No negotiations, no questions. And the second thing is, in order to get my money I have to basically log in into my online bank account through some third-party site. I'm really anxious about what to do. I feel if I miss this opportunity to sell the bike now. The price is great for me. I would pay that price for sure if I was the buyer.
Had a lot of tire kickers, repetitive questions not relevant to the bike, and empty messages. Bike was priced very fairly. Also, no seller protection- someone can ride and destroy your bike and claim you shipped it that way. Ended up selling through FB marketplace. Much less hassle.
Three bikes sold on BuyCycle and all flowless.
Clint Gibbs: would love to see a video, on if it is worth paying money for a professional bike fit ?
Depends how expensive it is, but if you spend a long time on the saddle, even if you are just commuting to work, it is worth it. if the height is incorrect or something is misaligned you might develop back or knee pain.
Yeah I’m about done with eBay as well because the fees.
I quit them years ago, I think all the fees amounts to 12-13 percent.
@@boballard6040 more like 25%+.
Currently selling a bike: I received the bike packaging but it's too small and the bike doesn't fit and this is going to delay the whole process.
Unfortunately I couldn't check the packaging immediately myself, but do it if you can!
Have you ever used the Pro's Closet to sell one of your bikes?
Not a chance😂
They are the Gamestop of bicycles.
Got the worst price ever there
Great idea being poorly implemented. At least buying from outside the US. If you’re buying from Europe just know you’ll wait 3-4 weeks. They say they will check packaging before they move it on to you ( they don’t) and if you have an issue (my bike came missing parts) they really have no active customer service. I sent a question about missing parts and damaged packaging and got back an automated response but after a week I still have no actual response. I count myself lucky that the bike is close to what was described and I only had to spend an additional $100 on parts to be able to ride the never before ridden bike I bought. Maybe it’s better on all U.S. transactions but there are plenty of horror stories if you look.
I'm trying to do a search and a pop-up for whatever doesn't stop popping up. So i quit. Not gonna put up with that kind of bullshit
Exciting stuff! Can't wait to hear about your first experience with BuyCycle. We sent you an email, take a look.
