I love that Fractal still refuses to put RGB in most of their stuff. It's refreshing.
They should use it as a headline on their website. "No #^%@*!! RGB"
And then I went and filled mine to the brim with Corsair unicorn jizz
Honesly the only rgb you need is the ram, cpu cooler and maybe leds
@@momsfreind7221 Well technically you don't need any at all.
Fractal sells RGB fans and AIO coolers (“Prisma” name) but no RGB is included out of the box with the case.
I love these quick regular 10-minute-ish "let's just build a PC" to show off "X" component(s). I would watch these no matter how many of them they make. I hope this is something they continue to do more of
Used to be pretty common, but then they said there was no money in it so they dropped that until this channel started up.
i really like your "no bullshit" style of presentation. so laid back, easy to watch. perfect.
@Z390 tryhard?
Lol I found it entertaining. This pc got taken apart 15 mins later and is about the case not the components. so who cares what components are used. Grab whatever is closest. I'd do the same thing
Thanks! Go @ Alex on Twitter
@@callum7334 Don't worry. It's the Z390. He is dumb, slow and inefficient.

When all LMG videos are so absurd and insane that a normal PC build *is* the April fools joke.

@@zacharyc.3709 Multiple people at LTT write scripts, including most of the hosts.
I’m so amused that people aren’t sure if this is an April Fools joke. Personally I think it’s actually kinda useful to know that the case is so easy to build in that you can just kinda go for it with very little prep and it’s that forgiving.
YEA. Case reviews are back. This better not be an April Fools "joke"
That's not a review though
@@Kriae you’re totally right. “Review” is the wrong word.
I love Alex videos -- it always starts out with him saying "It'll be super easy, barely an inconvenience" and then proceeds to be super not-easy, full of many inconveniences...
Oh really?
liking this comment was super easy, barely an inconvenience
I find his videos so unintentionally funny, love them
Wow wow wow wow

Its good see that the level of prep for these videos has improved its gone from 0% to 6% so heading the right way. Keep at it guys :)
i think this vid is a joke "april fools" since when have they reviewed cases?
Fractal always had a soft spot in my heart. This is a testament of their forward movement. Cheap, silent, high quality, good air flow and cooling. Not to mention super easy to build with.
What's not to love?!
Theres a torrent in da house
You can’t go wrong with LTT only fans, that video was LIT 🔥

Nah, imo pretty disturbing lol
really love build videos, no matter how insignificant you think they are, they are always enjoyable to watch!
"This build will be so easy!!"
*Forgets every crucial step, does things out of order and makes it 10x harder than it should be*
And that's the joke
Which is exactly how it always plays out.
He didn't use a Swiss army knife that probably has a philips screwdriver
There isn't just "one" order to building.
Alex: "The big thing with this case is that you get no RGB".
Me: "Is that considered a problem?"
No, it's a feature. Combine it with something like the MSI B550-A Pro, some black Noctua fans, and you can build yourself a super stealth PC.
You know what else you can’t go wrong with...

I have this case currently sitting in my office. I still need to buy like 90 percent of the other components for my build, I've given up on the graphics card, but now I feel validated for my case selection. 😊
Built my PC in the Meshify C a couple months ago and loved the design. Fractal really knows how to make eye compelling cases!
I already have the Meshify C, but I'm 90% sure that the "2" will be my next case; it addresses nearly all of my issues with the 1st gen.
I was like that's my case, then I realized that one is much better.
Same!
Saaame
oh yes, I love my Meshify C and this one is just next level
I just finished my build in the 2. Absolutely love the case.
I have the fractal meshify s2. It's such a nice case to build in and do maintenance for. Love their cases.
Have a great old day Alex and crew!
That was a good short circuit. Good to see a build as part of the breakdown.
I have the case in the standard larger version as homeserver and it's honestly great!
I have the meschify c (so v1) and still use it, it’s awesome and such a small footprint. Also the tinted glass is awesome. It can fit all full size components. And the fact this new version has all the fans. It’s the best deal out there. Good layout, epic cooling and all filters that are easy to clean.
"Building in the case may be easy, but that won't keep me from making it more difficult for myself"
Literally just got this case last week and it's amazing. I got it in grey and it looks great!
Meshifys are one of my favorites, good airflow, low key, modern looking, I think it’s a great case.
I built my new pc in this case. 9/10 really loved it! I used an arctic 240 up top instead of a 360 rad on the front because of gpu clearance. Only complaint I had was the pcie expansion slot screws were over torqued from factory.
published 30 seconds ago? thats a lucky hit.
Whoda thought
Just rebuilt my friend's PC in the meshify 2 XL last week. (She has 16 HDDs now in RAID 50)
Was a pleasure to work in and huge
7:16 That "Exynos" hard drive looks sick! :D
The Meshify C TG is just awesome and this is a worthy successor imho. I especially just love that they improved the front panel so much as the old one is a nightmare to get off. Also, woot woot! case reviews are back!
The Meshify C is such a cool case. I have the white one and it is great. The new one looks a bit worse around the front i think, but the toolless design and extra fans look sick.
And its slightly longer so you can actually fit new GPUs in it
@@WayStedYou I have a 5950X and a 3090 in the original Meshify C without having to do anything fancy to make the GPU fit (3x120mm normal fans in the normal position in the front). Some of the oversized 3090 models might not fit, but regular full-sized 3090s fit. Front watercooling is possible with a 3090, but only if you go with slim 120mm fans on the mesh side of the case.
No 5.25'' drive bays though. And no, they're not just for optical drives.
@@arnox4554 Very few users need 5.25” drive bays. When I got the Meshify C, I bought an external enclosure for my bluray burner, but I’ve never used it since. What else are they good for other than optical drives and hot swap bays (which don’t belong in consumer desktops) that can’t be replaced with external devices?
@@guspaz Yeah, you don't NEED a 5.25'' bay(s), just like you don't NEED a USB-C port(s) on the front, and you don't NEED a Lamborghini in blue. But it's nice to have, so I have no idea what your point is there.
Also, I think you only say the external hot swap bays don't belong in "consumer" desktops because you don't have one and haven't actually seen how nice they are. They are super convenient to have and also allows you to use cheap internal storage as hot-swappable external storage anytime with full read/write speeds. A 5.25'' bay also ensures you don't have to install some clunky enclosure for your optical drive in case you actually wanna watch movies on your computer or you have some archived content you need to see. And finally, the bays allows you to mount more external ports to the front of the PC in case you need them.
There is only ONE reason why you wouldn't want the bays, and that is because you want to maximize air flow. But unless you're overclocking your PC to hell (waste of time anyway in my opinion), you don't need all that air flow. I run a workstation desktop with 3 5.25'' drive bays and it runs absolutely fine. Quiet even. And yes, I do some crypto-mining on it as well even and it still works absolutely fine.
The Arctic cooler's VRM fans work perfectly for me in my SFF ITX build. On a large case with a lot of airflow or in motherboards with active VRM cooling, it might be a gimmick, but in an SFF case with a motherboard without active VRM coolers, this really works.
I've built three computers recently, one of which in this case. One in the Meshify 2, and another in the be quiet 500dx. So a comparison on another compact atx case and the bigger version of this case.
The Meshify 2C was the most tight of them all. In particular, I actually had to work really really hard to get the back to close up fully on mine. Maybe one of the corners was faulty and came off easy, but even then, you still put pressure outwards against the back if you don't do it perfectly. The other two cases had a lot more room for cables, so I didn't really have to worry about cable management on either.
That's my main complaint. Both the 500dx and this are about the same size, but this is a few mm smaller in each direction. Both are tiny, and I love both. But the 500dx is just a bit more convenient on your hands.
This has rubber grommets, but the 500dx felt like it had more space for pulling in cables from the back. Both Meshifys I was forced to have a long loop of cable come out on a weird angle for the usb 3 gen 1 type a connector on the bottom. I used a different motherboard for the 500dx, but I don't think that one would have as big of a problem.
The 500dx is more gamer looking. This is more subdued, but both are very very pretty.
The Meshify 2 felt the most premium of all three. The paint on the screws of the 500dx was a bit meh, and something felt a bit cheaper on this case. But every single thing on the Meshify 2 felt so so amazing.
Which case would I recommend? Literally whatever. They all do feel very premium, and are all very nice. The Meshify 2C and the 500dx let you feel a bit like you're building itx but get all your atx goodies. The Meshifys have a convenient top removal that makes building more convenient. Nothing will feel more compact than the Meshify 2C, but you will get all you want out of it. (Except for top 280mm radiator. I was able to barely fit a 280mm radiator on top of the 500dx, but I really don't recommend doing it. Had to cut the edges of the fans a bit to fit.)
An ever so slightly taller (for the 280mm radiators) and ever so slightly wider (for the cable management) version of this Meshify 2C case would make it perfect. Or a taller 500dx. Generally, most people really don't need that extra space on the front. Compact cases can still be big enough for the biggest graphics cards, so ones with all that front space is really not necessary.
10/10 would recommend any of the above cases, so long as you keep mentioned caveats in mind.
The meshify compact is literally the slightly bigger case than the meshify c so maybe that's nicer to build. With modern GPUs c is really on its limit. My brothers rtx 3080 had 2-3mm space to the front fans.
Had this case a month now... great looks, thermal performance, and super easy to build in with the designed cable runs :)
do your front fans, moreso the upper one vibrate like hell?
@@ribale609 I didn’t notice them vibrating. Whilst they’re definitely not the worst fans I’ve seen included with a case, they’re not as quiet as the Noctuas I had in my previous case so I switched them out after a week
6:16 I literally haven't seen someone do that little flip with their fingers since I was in 6th grade that was over 15 years ago.
Glad to see this video get uploaded since I just bought the Meshify 2 White
Wait, what? No RGB!?!? THAT'S LOVELY!! (And no, this is not an Aprils fool)
There's a solid side panel option too.
Dust filter on the front is a big no for me but it’s not like you can’t just take it out. Living in a desert environment that’s extremely dusty, I actually find that the mesh front on my case is plenty enough to keep the dust out. Filter just further impedes air flow if in front of a mesh front.
3:34 I still have scars on my fingers from those razor wire filled cases...
Friend: Oh dude epic scar, how did you get it!?
Me: Building computers like a BAWS!
If you're talking to somebody who isn't familiar with PC building, saying "I was slashed by a Hyper 212" sounds kinda badass.
My case it's one of those old razor sharp ones and every time I have to do something on it I cut myself
Well, you sold me on this case. Got it a couple of weeks ago and i LOVE IT! thanks!
Great to hear!
Alex: "Building a PC is easiest it's ever been"
Also Alex: *proceeds to get the wrong CPU rad size, need a tool to clip a fan on the cooler, forgets to plug the USB header in, struggles with cable management and technically gets the name of the harddrive wrong* :P Exos. Exynos is a Samsung chip
I'm gonna assume this video was done with no prep work except "we need the review of the meshify done by yesterday"
Mine arrived 2 days ago! such a beauty!
"the reason why I'm more inclined recommend this one, is because they're our sponsor."
Tbh might be the case, buuuut the power supply would be a deal braker for me. I have a ATX PSU and if I would get a new case I would look for one that can take a ATX PSU to save myself the hassle of selling the old one and buying a new smaller one.
Honestly it’s a really solid compact standard looking case. I’d recommend this thing even if I wasn’t sponsored
3:21 this is so nice with the top gone, thats what he said
Seems like a nice little case...
"No RGB whatsoever."
Sold!
I was thinking about buying this case before this video came out. Now it's out of stock thanks to you guys.
The whole time I was expecting this to turn into an April fools joke
Me with every video I see today lol
@@Jackofafewtrades Same
That was a reverse psychology joke. They did something what most people didn't expect that is to build a pc normally.
Love my define R5 with black side panel. Will be keeping this case for years to come
This is super helpful because I'm deciding whether to go for a compact or full-size case. I think having to be a bit careful with part selection and everything being a bit tight will annoy me slightly more than having the wasted space in a larger case, so I think I'm gunna go full-size.
You guys nearly built my PC, old Meshify C, 3900X, Liquid Freezer II 280, Seasonic PX 750, Samsung SSD, 12TB Exos drive and 1070 Ti myself lol
I'm starting the video so I dont yet know if this is gonna be an April fool's vid.
Edit: Video's done. It's a legit case review with a real build.
Still seems out of place to me
Funny thing is that they don't do case reviews so it's technically an April Fools joke.
The thing is, never trust anything on April fool's day, especially the comments. 🙉
Cases are my favourite reviews, this is where these manufacturers need to start shining, like honestly so many directions and options possibilities and we are still very standard, but still they are making improvements...
Ooo, this is a nice case.
as someone who has the original meshify C and opens up to switch coolers on my rig all the time (because i just can't decide what to use) I can say that the removable top side is more valuable than most people think it is. installing a DH15 and having to get to the CPU cooler header is so hard because of the limited space. I'm so happy it got addressed and if I had money I might actually pay to get this case for that change as well as the screwless glass side panel.
"can't go wrong with this"
Goes wrong with it.
1:30 I think there was some foreshadowing regarding what happens ahead. Not sure tho
Hot take: writing "foreshadowing" makes the actual foreshadowing less intriguing

I nearly bought the arctic and this case. You saved me from a mistake, thank you.
Fractal makes the best "blank boxes" to build in. They don't do fancy at all but for function over form they're pretty hard to beat
This makes me happy that most UA-camrs like this case, considering I already bought and built-in it when I first found out about it 😂
I bought this case, it arrived today. Specifically purchased for great reviews on airflow, being compact, styling, and NO RGB.
I mean, if that's your thing, that's cool. But it's nice to have this as an option as well.

You can put so many hard drives in it xD
I got the full size meshify C and I love it.
same here just built mine like 2 months ago with it i love it
My first pc build last year wash a Fractal Meshify C case white, was last years model and it looked great. Amazing thermal performance and a breeze to build in, but with the addition of the removable top and included 140mm fans I am about to buy another one and ditch my Maingear case. Thanks for the video LMG. Kudos to you to Alex. They be 160 on Amazon USA though right now though.
I literally bought the meshify c 2 months ago then this got released the front filter on the original is such a pain in the ass nice to see they changed it
The feels I got while watching this amazingness when I got couple months ago Meshify C, now I want Meshify C2.....
I had the be quiet! Pure Base 500 but I struggled with the cable management so hard (especially the 24-pin ATX connector) that I took some more money and got a Meshify 2 Compact to get my build perfect. And I love that case! Taking off the whole top makes it so easy even with the biggest CPU air cooler installed. The only problem I ran into was the length of the 8/4-pin CPU cables of my Corsair PSU. Watch 8:22, it looked the same here. I couldn't find a way to put the cables perfect without folding or squeezing.
The Pure Base will have my old 3770K system where the appearance is not that important.
That comment about putting Noctua fans in there... that’s basically what I did in the original one. This is just the perfect case for someone who values functionality over form.
I have the original verison of this case and can confirm, it was rough building without the top coming off. Though I did manage to fit a thick 240 rad up top, a normal 280 in the front, fans everywhere, a slightly long PSU, 2 HDD and 3 Sata SSDs in it. Only a couple millimeters in places but hey, as any machinist will tell ya, a single thousandths of an inch is as good as a mile.
Got mine in the smoked glass and it looks real good.
All around, that was a really chill build video. Good stuff!
I have a meshify C and it’s actually amazing
I actually just finished building my new PC in this case and it was a pretty pleasant experience. The only real problems I came across were that I had to remove the bottom rubber cable grommet due to power supply clearance issues, and that the space up on top is very tight for anything other than a couple of 120mm fans. I can't imagine putting a rad up there too, maybe a single 120.
9:00 I'm not sure how I feel about a tool-less back panel - I rely on that mechanical force to hide my cable management...
8:12 Ha, that's exactly what I do. The one and ONLY time I use voice commands on my phone is for setting timers. It's so fast and convenient, and since its such a simple command there is no concern that the voice assistant will get confused.
You did a fantastic job at cable management for only 2:30!
I've been looking at getting this case for my first full build. I wanted the regular meshify 2 but I don't think I have the space for it.
i bought this case a while a go and bought an RGB set and the front of the case's mesh filter disperses the light in a dark room in the most awesome way.
I really like Fractal Design cases. More than half my builds in the past decade have used them. Bonus is they have options without glass for those who don't want RGB.
Lol, I did the same thing with the arctic. Really hoped I could squeeze in a 280 but had to go back to a 240. It's *so* close though, with a minor size increase, you could get one into this case.
I feel like the 'unboxing' and included packaging is something to look out for, as you might build in it and ship/travel with the original case box and packaging.
I have the original Meshify C in white, and my only complaint was the USB 3.0 header cable is hard to plug in my mobo at the bottom. My EVGA Supernova G2 700w PSU from my last build is technically not supposed to fit, but I was able to pull it off. I have cable extensions though, so that made cable management a lot more difficult.
