- [A lot of flashing, glitching, and slight trypophobia warnings just to be safe]
Many creative liberties were taken here, supplemented by lore and theories about the Thousand Winds and God of Time, aka Istaroth. Her characterization in this is meant to lean on inconsistent, as different flashes of moments occur. I just ran with how the book Before Sun and Moon described her being the moment and every moment.
The first minute and a half was drawn in a single day with the rest over the course of two whole months, and frankly I have no idea how that happened, just that it did. Also this wouldn't have been made if my friends weren't such enablers

istaroth god of time referring to her son as "her little future" ahksdkjgdskghaskdsalj im TOTALLY OKAY I PROMISE
When I played the wind and time quest, I knew venti was istraroth's new incarnation (like nahida and rukkhadevata) or istraroth was Venti's mother. I think there's evidence supporting both theories but I personally love the mother-son one the most. This is such a beautiful but slight unsettling animation. You are able to convey that mother's fear of the unknown future of their child even though istraroth does know Venti's future.
the new incarnation theory would definitely be interesting but then i think back to the lore said in the sacrificial weapon set as well as time and wind, Barbatos and Istaroth being worshipped by the people of mondstadt together until one day istaroth was forgotten. so if venti was her incarnation how could they have been worshipped together you know? i hope venti’s second story quest is about his relationship with istaroth, the mother and son theory is just too good
@@juli.cosmic.apollo it could be something like nahida and rukkhadevata. Rukkhadevata IS Nahida and Nahida is rukkhadevata. BUT some people worshipped one over the over. I like both theories! I don't really think one is better than the other!
@@queenlygoddess1348 But Nahida and Rukkhadevata didn't exist at the same time and so they weren't worshipped the same time, I don't think your parallel can physically work here. Unless you suggesting the same scenario of Irminsul happened, where the world forget Istraroth? But then the artifacts wouldn't have remembered her, nor does it sound like Irminsul was accesible to anyone but Rukkhadevata.

MY GOD THIS IS SO SATISFYING!!!!! Ngl, I've always thought of Venti and Istaroth as just friends with Istaroth having a motherly persona in general, but even so this animatic is so SATISFYING. There's barely any content on their bond, and it pains me because I just want to see the two together for Pete's sake! It's been so strongly hinted that the two are connected, yet few try to actually analyze that connection. I'm so happy to stumble upon this! Ty UA-cam search results lol
I've been needing more lore related content for Venti for so long, I can't believe I'm only finding this animatic now!
The lyrics fit so well with the visuals, and I never thought much about how Venti and Istaroth are connected, but them having something like a familial bond makes a lot of sense to me
I like to think that she is really his mother, I would really like to see the development of their relationship (perhaps in the second quest of the Venti) This animatic is incredible and very underestimated, this is the rarest case when I subscribe, like and leave my comment :) May you have enough strength for such videos
This is simply gorgeous. I really love Venti and I'm extremely intrigued by Istaroth and her relationship with Venti, so this is gold for me. I'm just a bit curious and slightly confused about what happened in the end

It's mostly open ended and up for interpretation, but my thoughts while making it was basically, the end reveals the rest of the video had actually been Istaroth talking about herself and Venti to the Traveller

So, you're saying that Istaroth wasn't referring to Venti the whole time but rather herself (assuming that's what you meant by "about herself")? Is Venti not Istaroth's child in this? Or are you saying that Istaroth was talking to herself while Venti was with the Traveler? I'm so confused 😖
@@WinterCrystal1009 Just to clear up my wording, Istaroth was talking to only the Traveller as seen in the ending. The song itself is about both her *and* Venti

Venti is my favorite character and the more lore i find out him and istaroth i adore. and this is what i think their relationship is given the wording of their titles. i know i'll be rewatcthing this animatic multiple times over the next week or so (i've already watched it a few times). I honestly thinks of them as close friends or siblings but I never thought of her as a “mother figure”. I just so happen to read a “Xiaoven” fan fiction and found out about her, they described her as the god of time? Anyways, this vid was greatly animated!
Mhmm! Most of the lore about Istaroth is actually in the book Sun and Moon in Enkanomiya. Basically, she's one of the Four Shining Shades, which Phanes (the creator of Celestia) created to aid him. She's basically a celestial being known as the God of Time, but she's also known to have the might of a thousand winds. Because Venti's a "thread of the Thousand Winds," many speculate Venti is her child. I usually thought of them as good friends till I found out in Weinlesefest that Venti manipulates the winds of the past (aka uses time magic) to remind some Mondstadters of key moments in their lives.
There's a lot more lore about her, but looking into the Sun and Moon book as well as stuff in the Time and Wind story quest and the Thousand Winds temple could help you learn more.
This is so underrated it's insane. The art and cinematography is gorgeous, and I love all the lore you packed into this. Istaroth comes off as both benevolent and frighteningly powerful, as she's depicted in-game, and it's still ambiguous as to how much Venti is involved in her affairs. Did you model her after the statue of the goddess in Inazuma?
yeah the “statue of the omnipresent god” in inazuma is often theorized to be istatoth

I have watched this for a couple of times by now. I’m still trying to take in ever scene of this animatic. Also I think I saw Paimon in one of the scenes or at least a version of her. The scene with the person that has a primogem looks like Paimon and then the scene after it has a seelie. I’m curious on what you think about Paimon actually. I really like your use of colors.
That was actually the girl on the Welkin Moon! Honestly, with how many viable answers there are, Paimon could be anyone at this point. She could be a Moon Sister, another fragment of Istaroth, a seelie, or heck even an ELF from Honkai, so who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's mostly scattered in a lot of descriptions and Time and Wind mentions, but most of the God of Time's lore could be found in the Enkanomiya books and quests, as well as the Sacrificial weapons
