A friend from New Zealand share this video with me. I love it. The song is beautiful. Those voices are sonorous. Hopefully someday I will visit Newzealand
Kia ora Aotearoa from the other side of the world. I'm not a kiwi but I lived in your beautiful country for a year and worked within a multilingual school (english/Maori/Samoan/French). This song brings me to tears every time, it sums up perfectly how I felt about NZ : it felt like home.
I want to come back to NewZealand so badly now :/ thanks for this song, ive been repeating this more than 10 times. This video show true essence of NewZealnd #ProudtobeKiwi
Maori portrayed in a spiritual way with nature and not the streets for a back drop. We're all visitors to this land though. Aotearoa has been here since the beginning.
[English lyrics] [Stan Walker] No matter if your near or far we come from the land of god, no matter where you belong, we fight for your freedom'. I am the mountain you are the sea. Flowing towards me, you are the river that runs through me, I am her she is me, created from dust and sand, born to lead this land, [Troy Kingi] Where we come from we were meant to be strong, Our legacy will carry on..... and if a peace of home resonates in your soul Your journey will take you where you belong, [Chorus] No matter if your near or far we come from the land of god no matter where you belong we fight for your freedom [Ria Hall] The heritage of this land is deep We are its legacy i am her warrior i fight for the... we have the victory born from blood and tears i am stronger than fear... [Troy Kingi] We strive to move to our destiny We practice more than what we preach and if a piece of home resonates with your soul your journey will take you where you belong. [chorus] No matter if your near or far we come from the land of god no matter where you belong we fight for your freedom. Maisey Rika [NZ national anthem] [chorus] 3X No matter if your near or far we come from the land of god no matter where you belong we fight for your freedom
I love this song. I am a Samoan and I have family in Aotearoa. Every single time I hear this song I have a connection with the Land and the Mountains in Aotearoa and even though I don't speak Maori but for some reason I felt like I was there before even though I have never been there. I love it.
Kia Ora. Greetings from Melbourne Australia on the Mornington Peninsula, my mother’s grandmother was born and married in New Zealand back in 1876 I’m proud of the heritage. One day I will have my wish to be with my ancestors
Great work team. Fantastic song. Video came out great. Big thanks to everyone who helped shoot it. Props to my brother Shae for a cool concept. I'm one proud Kiwi today.
(Maori) Kia ora Abrianah Turei toku ingoa, a, I a ia ano he aroha nui ki te hunga katoa i mea ai ratou ki a koutou, e tumanako ana hoki. Im te hunga whakakake hei aotearoa hou, kia nui hoki nga Zealanders hou o te whenua. He nui te aroha me te whakawhetai ki nga aotearoa hou katoa ngā rehetoi e whakaatu ana i te aroha noa, i te whakapehapeha i roto i te whenua!!!!! (English) Hello my name is Abrianah Turei and I and from New Zealand much love to all of you out their and hope all is well. Im proud to be a new Zealander and hope those who are new Zealanders are proud of there country is well. Much love and thanks to all the new Zealander artists who are showing love and pride in there country!!!!!
God I miss this song and the memories with it so much. We used to get year 5, 6, 7 and 8 in one classroom and we would sing this song. There was so much emotion echoing through the class, it brought some visitors to tears sometimes.
What an awesome song!! I am from Fiji just North of Aotearoa and I can understand some of the things they're singing! Whenua (Maori)= Vanua (Fijian)...they sing of the land and how they link to it and connecting to it though when far away! Malie au'pito for the inspiring song
I moved from the Waikato to Canada, NZ didn't hold much for me and moving was easy. In the year before I left I really got invested into Maori culture, I don't have any Maori in me but I have a lot of love for the culture. Every now and then I come and listen to this song and it's the only thing that gives me a slight bit of homesickness. I wish I had known Te Wananga O Aotearoa taught Te Reo for free years ago, I would have learned it. The language is sick and Canadians love it when you drop them a kia ora!
People saying "its new zealand not aotearoa" , "pretty shit song" , "dont understand pretty dumb" It was created for Maori Language Week Beautiful song btw #ProudKiwi Ka Pai!
At last a song that celebrates the essence of my beautiful country.Tucked away at the edge of the world is Gods very own island, where people are the best, the most down to earth and brave hearts. Where all dreams come true and nothing is impossible to achieve if you are ready to work hard. I migrated to this great land ,nine years ago and every since then this is home and this is where my heart is. I am so proud being a Kiwi and even prouder that I can speak Te Reo. God bless our free land. Kia Kaha, Kia Toa, Kia Mangawanui.
Anyway this song is excellent. I love it, I think its cute. Hahaha. Playing it on the guitar already. Reminds me that as kiwis we have something special there at home. Im not at home but this..... and I say that this waiata brings the heart, he aroha me te atua, right inside my home in oz.
Is there a REPLAY button on youtube somewhere! Lol. Jk. Love this video!! Makes me want to visit the beautiful land of Aotearoa even more now. Can't wait till that day comes!!!! :D :D :D ;)
Our language will live forever ....the music ..the lyrics...the four of you...everything I see hear and feel in this clip is everything we are as grandchildren and kaitiaki (caregivers) of Aotearoa. Ti hei Mauri Ora.
Aoteroa! Where my pounamu Manaia came from, crossed oceans and lands and finally landed under Acropolis Parthenon in Greece. My guard is preety happy here under the bright sun and in the blue sea, but never forgot Aoteroa!! Keeps singing on my neck at nights the secret holy songs of Aoteroa!!!
Yves Brown I don't think you understand, but for Maori who have created the stereotype of not being a people of success. It's a massive achievement to finally see our people take the responsibility of leading the coming generation into a more positive light. Yes, New Zealand may be on the map. But like James Sigley said, they are putting AOTEAROA on the map.
I am from Uruguay but I spend 1 year in NZ with a working holiday visa. Thank you so much Aotearoa, I love you and I will never forget you.
Kia ora aotearoa from switzerland. I bow down !!! Love to culture & tradition of yours. I'm Tibetan, living in Switzerland. I'm proud of Tibet, proud of Switzerland and proud of the culture of the warriors from Aotearoa.BIG Bro hug from Switzerland (zürich)

[English lyrics]
[Stan Walker]
No matter if your near or far
we come from the land of god,
no matter where you belong,
we fight for your freedom'.
I am the mountain you are the sea.
Flowing towards me,
you are the river that runs through me,
I am her she is me,
created from dust and sand,
born to lead this land,
[Troy Kingi]
Where we come from we were meant to be strong,
Our legacy will carry on.....
and if a peace of home resonates in your soul
Your journey will take you where you belong,
[Chorus]
No matter if your near or far
we come from the land of god
no matter where you belong
we fight for your freedom
[Ria Hall]
The heritage of this land is deep
We are its legacy
i am her warrior i fight for the...
we have the victory
born from blood and tears i am stronger than fear...
[Troy Kingi]
We strive to move to our destiny
We practice more than what we preach
and if a piece of home resonates with your soul
your journey will take you where you belong.
[chorus]
No matter if your near or far
we come from the land of god
no matter where you belong
we fight for your freedom.
Maisey Rika
[NZ national anthem]
[chorus]
3X
No matter if your near or far
we come from the land of god
no matter where you belong
we fight for your freedom
I'm Malaysian,I love Maori and Maori Culture
I love this song. I am a Samoan and I have family in Aotearoa. Every single time I hear this song I have a connection with the Land and the Mountains in Aotearoa and even though I don't speak Maori but for some reason I felt like I was there before even though I have never been there. I love it.

God I miss this song and the memories with it so much. We used to get year 5, 6, 7 and 8 in one classroom and we would sing this song. There was so much emotion echoing through the class, it brought some visitors to tears sometimes.
Lost for words!!!
One of the reason I'm proud to be Polynesian *o* God bless Polynesia till the very end
forgot tonga, Samoa, fiji
nat nili that's my roots not every part of Polynesia :)
Oh sorry
2019 and I still get goose bumps
Proud of our polynesian cultures ! Proud to be !
What an awesome song!! I am from Fiji just North of Aotearoa and I can understand some of the things they're singing! Whenua (Maori)= Vanua (Fijian)...they sing of the land and how they link to it and connecting to it though when far away! Malie au'pito for the inspiring song
In Malay/Indonesian, it's Benua.
I wish this song was on Spotify so that I could listen to it all the time. It's a truly beautiful song.
Keep playing over & over again.. What a amazing song! Don't understand a single word (well except the title itself).. Need and want to learn Maori!
Kia Kaha Aotearoa
People saying "its new zealand not aotearoa" , "pretty shit song" , "dont understand pretty dumb" It was created for Maori Language Week Beautiful song btw #ProudKiwi Ka Pai!
Makes me feel like i want to visit NZ :D
You should
As a non Maori living in NZ, this song makes me proud to be here in Aotearoa. Wicked talent and song!
What a beautiful song! But I can only understand few words, such as Aotearoa and iwi...
I recognize the national anthem, but that's about it.
you are a little crap bucket full of crap
naomi lockett Why thank you.
Very proud to be Maori 🙌
Cherish Faleono I am proud to being a kiwi. 😘😏💘💝💖😀😏
Love this song 😍😍 Proud to be born and breed in Aotearoa 💯💯
Anyway this song is excellent. I love it, I think its cute. Hahaha. Playing it on the guitar already. Reminds me that as kiwis we have something special there at home. Im not at home but this..... and I say that this waiata brings the heart, he aroha me te atua, right inside my home in oz.

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Well done guys. Beuatiful catchy song and put Aotearoa on the map! Love the bridge too Mase :)
Aotearoa is already on the map
Yves Brown I don't think you understand, but for Maori who have created the stereotype of not being a people of success. It's a massive achievement to finally see our people take the responsibility of leading the coming generation into a more positive light. Yes, New Zealand may be on the map. But like James Sigley said, they are putting AOTEAROA on the map.
I think Stan Walker is my unçle. I seen him in a movie called born to dance. I love that movie😘
