The judges can't make up their minds on whether or not general and specific match each other. In the last two episodes they matched general with specific, now they're back to not doing it with knife/pizza cutter. A pizza cutter is most definitely a knife.

Is there less oxygen on the upper tier? No Gene, it's because Brett was constantly running her mouth so the others couldn't think, and Brett didn't focus on writing an answer until you got after her.

Gene had a lot of patience with Brett. Can't believe she was only 49 or 50 on this show. So she started out being obnoxious and annoying even on the earlier shows. She must have been drinking back then too, maybe that's what aged her so much

@@sdlively27 This is straight outta Wikipedia, but I'm too lazy to summarize what people who fail to appreciate CNR (of whom I am quite fond on this show) need to know about some of his non-TV endeavors:
Reilly made his film debut with an uncredited role in A Face in the Crowd (1957), directed by Elia Kazan, although most of his early career was spent on the stage. He was a regular and popular performer in comic roles for several summer seasons in the 1950s at the Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. Reilly appeared in many Off Broadway productions. His big break came in 1960 with the enormously successful original Broadway production of Bye Bye Birdie. In the groundbreaking musical, Reilly had a small onstage part and was the standby for Dick Van Dyke in the leading role of Albert Peterson. In 1961, Reilly was in the original cast of another big Broadway hit, the Pulitzer prize-winning musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. For his memorable origination of the role of Bud Frump, Reilly earned a 1962 Tony Award for featured actor in a musical. In 1964, Reilly was featured in the original cast of Hello, Dolly!, another enormous success on Broadway. For originating the role of Cornelius Hackl, Reilly received a second nomination for a Tony Award for performance by an actor in a featured role in a musical.

@@sdlively27 He had quite the career in the legit theater. Wikipedia glosses over it. He was in "Hello, Dolly!" with the great Ethel Merman in 1964. I learned this earlier when people were wondering whether he and Jack Cassidy had ever had a fling. I didn't look into that, but I ascertained that they were on Broadway in different musicals in 1964. Those theaters are all in close proximity-I think you wrote about the area when someone referred to Schubert Alley-and many of those performers would gather in local watering holes after shows ... until the coronavirus struck 🗽, the same sort of multi-cast socializing went on. But, alas, I suspect that people who don't enjoy CNR on MG would really look at him any differently based on this impressive CV. But they should definitely stop seeing him and Brett as a duo. I think he hides his vexation with her when she really gets self-centered and sloppy pretty well. I think they really were friends, but as a Tony-nominated director he would probably have wanted more orderly chaos on MG. And some of Brett's disruptive behavior is an embarrassment.
