I've always felt that a good film is made great by its soundtrack. As a Scot who has been stuck in Hong Kong due to the pandemic for 3 years, this makes me so homesick. But in 4 weeks, I finally get to go visit my magical homeland again.
I grew up in Germany and was able to go on a summer trip through the highlands and stayed at the YMCA in Glasgow in 1996. I never felt anymore freer than when I was there...the peer marshes with the greenest softest moss and grass...the highland cattle. I just felt "at home" then years later I investigated my last name...SHADDEN ..and saw I had Scot ancestry from my father's line. Sheeesh...I am in the US now, but I love thinking back to those two weeks...they were the best and etched in my memory. I wish you safe travels. I lost an obsidian egg in one of those marshes...I suppose future archeologists will scratch their heads about why they found and egg. I only had 5 pounds left on my spending money so I got it as a keepsake souvenir. Our bus stopped and people wanted to walk up a peak that was snow capped for some reasoni stayed below and froliced between the little creeks. Well I came upon one I had to jump to cross..so I threw my showed over and the egg. I took a leap and my entire leg sank into the peet up to my crotch...my nice white jeans 😆😆😆..after managing to pull myself out I was only able to find my shoes but not the egg 😔😔😔 Trying to change my pants infront of a bus of teenagers was quite embarrassing. I wouldn't miss that trip for the worldi hope I can return one day. I believe the coast at Inverness was quite gorgeous and I loved the seashells. Ugh...now I am getting home sick to a place I never knew was my home. I heard the YMCA does not exist in Glasgow anymore.

I see a lot of Scots posting their feelings. Such music inspires the soul, does it not? As a Yank from the states, we find the music to be an inspiration to continue the battle for freedoms against government. Once, I had personally interviewed a man who had survived the concentration camps of WWII. He was very old. His voice was hoarse. In his rough Polish accent he stated; "Never trust your government." Not my advice nor my words. It was his message to the future generations. A warning to open ears. When will we ever see, when will we ever learn, when will we ever be truly free? Freedom is a myth, duality keeps us enslaved and life goes on and on. Listen to the music and remember those who had eyes to see, ears to hear and voices that shouted loud enough for history to record!

====================== Thank you ❤ This soundtrack fills my soul with great and varied emotions. Only once have I been able to see the full movie, the following times I see it skipping scenes, I can't contain the sadness, the anger and frustration for the injustice, the betrayal, the pain of those who sincerely loved their nation. It was so difficult to achieve freedom, so many sacrificed people, silent heroes sometimes unknown to the world whom we must honor and thank. Many times we fail them as humanity and even so we have the possibility of encountering wonders like this theme, a sunrise, the warmth of the sun, the charm of the stars at night, the smile of good souls...

Outlawed tunes, on outlawed pipes - I love it. Thanks for this gem, creator.

William Wallace and Connor McLeod, 2 of the greatest Scots ever!! 🏴
Robert the Bruce and Sir Sean Connery
Rob Roy
Sadly, not many can come to truly appreciate freedom until they lose it.
It's so gradual most people don't even recognize it; it becomes normalized. Then you look like a conspiracy nut for pointing it out how you had less rights than yesterday.
I love the nature of Scotland and hope to maybe live there one day.
💚💚💚 I love this movie so much. Have always cried at the ending since I was a kid.
Hi. Strength ❤ to You from Scotland 🏴😎

Best compilation Ever about Braveheart, thank for sharing and best whishes!!
Just rewatched this movie after 20 years just last week! Crazy 😜
My clan is Clan Wallace. I so wish I could live the rest of my life there and return to Heaven from there. I won't know the difference both this beautiful and Heaven, when I arrive. AUM.
Dear great land
The build up from 10: ish on and 11:09 onwards never fails to bring a lump in my throat.
Finally, thank you so much. Next, Kingdom of Heaven please thanks
I was 18 when this came out. It's been my favorite ever since.

Some of the best bagpipes ever.
Not actually played on bagpipes, played on uilleann pipes
@@JOHNOOH I know I play the Uilleann Pipes…which are a type of bagpipe.
@@claytonschase you are not wrong. My apologies, most people associate the braveheart theme with the Highland pipes and in all fairness I assume "bagpipes" to be the Highland variety. Agreed though, some of the best.
@@JOHNOOH oh no worries. Yeah since most people don’t even know the Uilleann Pipes exist I used the generic term :)
They fought like warrior poets. They fought like Scotsmen. And won their freedom.
I love this movie so much but the historical side is horrible
I Resonate to this! In my blood I guess. We will meet again my friend. There is freedom to fight for and loves gift in a thistle.
I pray that I visit Scotland at least once in my lifetime 💔
======================
Thank you ❤ This soundtrack fills my soul with great and varied emotions.
Absolutely Love of Freedom WE Can All Learn of these Sacrifices and Understand they Are Real and They Are Worth it to Show Humanity the Battle has ENDED At Last and God Wins WE All Win WWG1WGA WeAreOne❤️✝️❤️
Tan cierto...so true !

For my first trip to Europe we are choosing Scotland. Its magical essence and amazing views of lush botanical forest has me captivated. Hoping to be there in early June we will travel 7 days by car into the Highlands and back into Edinburgh. Cheers!

Magnifique Moment - Wonderful Moment
"Gift of a thistle" is one of the most emotional pieces of music I've ever heard. The track at 1:04.
Best ambient sounds

"They fought like warrior-poets, they fought like Scotsmen and won their freedom" - William Wallace
That saying was from braveheart not real life and it was Robert The Bruce narrating.
Does not Matter who said it Does it just behave yourself
@paulcorbin7495 Haha, I thought about replying to that, but I thought the guy just argue
@@DreamSec you got it wrong have some humility, a response like ah thank you. Wouldn’t have been argued with?
I was quoting the film to begin with it was the last line, I do apologise, the Internet has more idiots than civilised individuals
Great video with lovely music, thanks for sharing 👍
