- Guitarist Angelo graciously permitted me to film his virtuosic performance of a passionate instrumental ballad. His searing guitar music pulled me away from Bayard Street in NYC's Chinatown and drew me to the corner, on Mott Street, where he was busking. As I got closer, his fingers were a blur on the fretboard.

Angelo's passionate guitar had me doing a 360° spin halfway up the block on Bayard Street. When I reached his spot, he'd just finished the song that entranced me. Then I tucked a donation inside the shopping bag that's on the left -- to Angelo's right. I really needed (not just wanted) to listen to more from this man's guitar; I desired to see his fingers work that ax. I didn't know if he'd allow me to capture his lyrical fire on video, but I asked. He said yes, and I felt grateful, for in my heart I knew that this artist was the real deal.

They often don't understand, either, that musicians live & breathe music as well as craft it -- or let loose improvisationally. Music is organic. Music is love & passion, fire & desire, an ocean's ebb 'n flow, thunder 'n lightning and other elements of Nature. Music can heal like a medicine, to a certain degree, and, for many folks on their final days on earth, is their last lullabye.
When I heard Angelo's searing guitar, I did an about-face in the thick of summer's heat.↩️ Drenched in perspiration, ears perked and camera in hand, I went sniffing toward Mott Street like a bloodhound.🎼🎶🎸❤️🔥👂🏽👄 After he finished the song that he was in the midst of surrendering his ax to, I tucked some currency as donation into his tote on the sidewalk. He thanked me and I gestured my gratitude to his artistry and to his mastery of the guitar. I made sure to ask Angelo for his name, for the title of his passionate song (it's untitled; an "instrumental ballad," he said), and then I humbly requested permission to film a video of his next performance. He said yes with a smile, began his wicked-fire ballad -- and I felt my body leaning into his powerful aura. All of that sticky heat I'd been suffering dissipated. It was as if Angelo drew that heat into his guitar and released that fiery energy through his magnificent song.🙌🏼
