Oh yeah?😊 Thank you, man! A dear friend turned me onto this album (and others by Red Hot Chili Peppers), and the title track hooked me right away. I've always enjoyed so many genres of music, since childhood. (At some point, zydeco is gonna find its way -- I might have to ask my dad if I could borrow an old washboard from the basement laundry room.🪗🎻) Today everything's digital, but back in the day, when I was age 🤐, my allowance (and, later, my bs job salary) fell far too short of enabling me to purchase tons of CDs. When I'd watch RHCP videos on MTV and whenever they'd perform live on television, Anthony Kiedis' voice and moves would have me mesmerized. The whole band is awesome! Sometimes it takes a diehard fan of an artist to inspire a person to explore that artist's body of work -- be it a singular artist or a band. Again, I so appreciate your commenting on this vid. And thank you immensely, too, for encouraging me to keep on following my gut on these audiovisual pairings. The visual part is still hard ah.😂 Inspiration, though, is truly magical!🧚🏽‍♀️

I'd been ignorant with regard to The APP due to a disturbing experience when I was in college. A friend of a friend who knew that a certain young man was attending the same college, recommended that we meet each other. I was thinking friendship; I believed that his intentions were beyond that because he repeatedly reached for my hand to examine and caress/rub/"feel up" my fingers! He kept insisting that I was a pianist. All the touching without my permission (inappropriate) was annoying enough, but the irony of what he said and my parents' refusal to buy or rent a piano or arrange piano lessons, was too cruel for me to bear. Anyway, how all of this figures in with TAPP -- before tonight, that is -- is that the young man loved the duo's music. When my father gave me permission to let the young man visit after school one evening, he (the finger fetishist) insisted that we listen to an APP album together. The only song that I was cool with that evening was "Eye in the Sky." Why? The dude's pulling of my digits and tracing the lines on my palms angered me so much that I couldn't focus on the rest of the LP (there were no CDs yet; only vinyl and cassette). After finger dude left, I had to endure odd questions from my father, who'd been helicoptering the whole time (up and down the stairs to where dude and I were, in the basement). Not only odd questions, but my father laughed at me because the whole fingers & palm situation. Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway: I ... was ... mortified! From then on, I associated TAPP with that dude. But life is interesting. Tonight I've learned from you about these outstanding songs -- thank you very much!😊❤ And now I'll gradually (I guess it'll take months) listen to TAPP's full body of music. After listening to TAPP perform "Dream Within a Dream" and "The Raven" -- absolute masterpieces of progressive rock in addition to *true* paeans to Edgar Allan Poe -- I feel like deleting my two videos.😔

It's totally understandable why you'd develop a negative mindset towards the band if a memory like that had to be associated with them. It'll take time, for sure. Step by step, day by day, if you feel ready or comfortable listening to their other work. You've shown great strength already by listening to their two songs from the Tales of Mystery and Imagination album. I can imagine how difficult it must have been. I'm glad you enjoyed the songs, and no, you don't have to delete the two current Poe videos. The songs you chose work perfectly fine with the footage 😊👍🏻

@@gabrielapaulinho1luv No need to be sorry. You have passion and that goes a long way. I would highly recommend you check out Truefire or get some lessons. It will help you to advance to the next level. I used to play like you so I get it. I bet even you get tired of the same old and tired scale runs. Most all songs will sound the same. I had a very limited musical vocabulary once too. Learning simple things like inversions, triads, the CAGED system; how to bounce between the Major and Minor Pentatonic...in the same song, make you sound better and more musical. Tip: E.g., A Major Blues, you start out on the I in A Maj. Penta, but when the song changes to the IV and V chord, you can jump up to the A Major Penta that lives just a few frets up. You go from your pinky finger on A (low E string) to your index finger on A. Simple things like that make a big difference. Also, slow down- let the music breath like a fine wine. Less can be more. Record yourself now and again in a year, after taking lessons. You will thank me! I am not a musician either, but I have been playing a while. I still take lessons. Here is someone I aspire to play like. Hear the difference of someone who has focused on learning. He is not much different than you and me except for his focus- not flashy, but solid. The friggin meatballs are off the charts! The cocktail and Coke w/lime were chilled to perfection. Very refreshing! I dislike that I messed up the gastropub's name ... repeatedly. It's Grove Station, not Grove Street Station. I also screwed up the word *vivre* in "joie de." Serves me right for quickly drinking a fuzzy navel -- on a near-empty stomach -- like it was plain orange juice ("veervrruh" 😵‍💫).😂
