I put in a formal request with the cat to put our presents UNDER the tree this year, but it was denied. I love the variety of christmas tree cat trees I've seen floating around social media the past few months.
Knockin’ down the Christmas tree 🎄 At the Christmas party stop Ornaments hung where cats can see Every owner wants’em to stop Knockin’ down the Christmas tree 🎄 Let the Christmas spirit ring Later they’ll have package bow ties And we’ll do some scolding 😸😹😻
Our old cat Mischief 1998-2019 loved Christmas. We would wrap him in a blanket and drive him around the neighborhood to see all the lights. He loved the tree. He would sit under the tree and marvel at the shimmering lights. The year of his final Christmas, we left the tree up an extra month. We knew he loved it. He was the best boy.
Cat proof a Christmas tree? There is no such thing. I haven't had a tree in years.🎄🐈🤣 Wishing Senior Cat Wellness and all its viewers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 🎄🐈⬛🐈
I've got a second hand fake tree without the original stand, makes it kinda wobbly in a regular tree stand. First year I had the furballs knocked it over like almost daily for about 3 days.
I tied my tree (artificial) to a hook I put in the ceiling of the condo I used to own. Twink was able to climb the tree to her hearts content. It was a pre- lit tree so there were no lights to tear off, and all my ornaments were wooden that I had made over the years. The one thing I hadn't planned for was Twink's nesting instinct. Everytime she climbed up, she would rearrange the branches until she had a nice comfy bed she could lie on and watch the goings on from. She was black, so she'd scare the **** out of people I couldn't warn before they walked up 8:40 to look at the tree, and she'd reach out a paw to say hello and I'd hear anything from a squeak to a yelp. Times were fun with my Twink. LOL. Merry Christmas and a very Happy and Healthy New Year!
I've tried putting a scratching pad under the tree, it just means that Lilibear scratches then hops up and slaps the decorations off. She doesn't climb the tree, just pulls ornaments off. Mable and Pierre just watch her, they're not interested in the tree
You didn't address plants that are hazards to cats. My one cat ate the fake grass around my fake tree last summer, so it doesn't need to be a live plant. Anyway a $2000 operation later she is fine but just being careful with live plants isn't enough. My other cat decided to take a flying leap from my dining room table to jump up on my shelves. I have the lower shelves blocked with gadgets so she can't jump up there but that night she decided to try for another higher shelf. She broke a pitcher, so glass was everywhere. Now I need to buy glass doors to close them off. I haven't put my tree up yet and may not this year. Anyway, a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
🎶 O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree, your ornaments are history…🎶

My cats are inquisitive when the tree first goes up but loses interest pretty quickly.

I had a 2x2 box that I tied all 4 corners of the tree too. Ornaments came off, but the tree never went over lol
I don't know about cat's, but according to my parents I was a Christmas tree Paul Bunyan. 4 toppled trees in one season. Give the poor cats a break 😹

Oh brother. Glad it worked out in the end, but your point is well taken!

I don't do trees. It would never work
