    It's not really recommended to use a powerful jet wash with caravans or /rv. The sheer pressure can dislodge seals and cause water ingress. I do feel your not thought this through properly. There's some superb chemicals as viewers have suggested to break down algea and mold gently. Foam first is not ideal you need to aggitate it. I sincerely hope you haven't broken any seals with the pressure of water for the new owner.😢

    I want to know if water leaked into the camper. It was apparent around one of the windows but nothing mentioned about other leaks.

      No, actually not. Definitely do not recommend this method for cleaning though. Avoid the seams at least. Unfortunately the owner has not been able to finish the cleaning yet...

    When those are that heavy with organic you need to hit them with a 6% sodium hypochlorite. Then you neutralize the surface with a salt/SH neutralizer and then you wash as you normally would. Your able to rinse with 250 to 350 psi after you apply the SH and it cleans up very nice. They key is to neutralize very well after you use the 6% bleach. Its the only way to get it nice and bright like you want and would have made this job easy for you.

    I watched the site clean a large caravan with a jet wash. It leaked everywhere after. I can’t bring myself to try just in case.

    Bleach would help immensely with the mold buildup. Wet it down and let it soak a bit. Then scrub with a medium stiff brush to remove the bulk of it. Then spray it down with a 50/50 mix of bleach and water with a good dose of Dawn soap. Dawn will help it cling better and not dry up too fast. After a little bit, give it a good pressure wash. Repeat if really stubborn. Always start with the roof first so you're not messing up the wash you just did on the sides.

    • @softwashscience
      @softwashscience 8 місяців тому

      Dawn rinses horribly and drys out and rots rubber and plastic even more. Also dawn neutralizes the bleach and when something is this covered in organic just bleach alone will foam up and cling like crazy. This is lichen, algae, and mildew not mold and when it’s that heavy, you don’t want to pre-wet the surface, you want to apply the bleach heavy at 4-6% sh content then reapply in areas that are starting to dry up in order to keep the surface in full dwell for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Then while it’s still wet and all the organic growth is in a soft state you start to rinse and it should come off quite easily. then you neutralize everything and do a normal wash, followed by a protectant on the surface making sure you rehydrate all the rubber in plastic giving you an excellent final product.

    I wonder if a pressure steamer would work on that deep dirt? Great vid though

      My experience is that those are slow to work with - maybe an industrial grade one. The problem though is the high temperature of that.

    • @thedetailer9125

    I find the following soft wash can be effective on this type of contamination, obviously color test a bit first. 1% Hypochlorite solution with 0.5ltr Biological laundry detergent per 10ltr of solution. You can add a bit of foaming soap to keep it wet longer and help it stick but spray it on and let it work, give it time and you will see the lichen etc. change color than when you wash the contamination will have lost its adhesion and should clean off without the excessive pressure being required. Give stubborn bits a second spray. For a bit of a test make up a solution of just biological laundry detergent and let it dwell overnight before rinsing off.

    • @thedetailer9125
      @thedetailer9125  2 роки тому

      I will make a note of that. That being said, I am a bit skeptical about anything containing chlorine. Thanks! /T
