I'm going to buy some of these for my indoor kitchen garden where there is an area which only gets hit with around 100 lux of light and I'm already running grow lights for my other plants so I don't want to be runing too many lights although I realize as I'm writing this that 100 LUX wont be enough for a cast iron plant but I should be able to keep them happy with a simple desk lamp with a 6500k bulb without the defuser cap which can then put out a good amount of extra Lumens for the cast iron plants. It will only use 7watts of extra power so not too much.

Can the variegated ones also tolerate low light? Or will it revert.

The variegated one is very pretty. I'm not a big fan of how thin their stems are, so I would put them in a wicker basket that could hide those thin stems. When I was visited Dubrovnik last year, it seemed like almost every home had a big pot of cast iron plant next to its front door.
I wonder why we don't see cast iron plants being sold in the box stores along side other common houseplants like fiddle leaf, Chinese evergreen, etc. My local nursery has a couple, but the prices are way too high.
