- In this video, Logee's horticulturist and third generation owner, Byron Martin, discusses the Australian Red Lime (Citrus australasica hybrid):
www.logees.com...
Also known as the Red Finger Lime, this rare lime tree is a hybrid of a Rangpur lime and Citrus australasica sanguinea, and is an exciting addition to any citrus lover's collection. At only 1' in height, the Australian Red Lime produces burgundy-red, 2” long fruit that have tiny juice vesicles inside. The flavorful juice vesicles pop in your mouth or are used in salads or drinks to provide a zesty lime taste. Australian Red Lime’s unusual color and compact growth habit makes it a wonderful potted plant. The leaves are small and the flowers are sweetly scented which is highly unusual and not your typical citrus aroma. Sweet flowers emerge in springtime and fruit follows that ripens red just in time for the holidays. This is a grafted plant that blooms and fruits sooner.

These go by two different names in Australia. "Red Centre Lime" or "Australian Blood Lime". I have these growing in my back garden in Aus. I also grow true finger limes well.
Tnx Sir Martin...watching from the Philippines.
Beautiful as an ornamental!
Thank you for the video and cutting into both the hybrid and true fingerlime. The video was informative in helping me decide which red fingerlime to buy.
We love finger limes here in Aus! Thanks for spotlighting one of these beautiful plants :-)))
Thank you so much for all your helpful and so informative videos on various plants and how to grow them. I definitely am going to order one and try growing this fruit.
I got to get these now 😳
Bummer! I wanted to see the novelty of the “caviar” shaped vessicles so I purchased one of these a few years ago. Still a great plant but it sounds like I need to find a true finger lime for the round vessicles.
Very interesting, thank you.
Great video.
Thanks for the video. Wish y'all could ship to TX.
My finger lime tree ( in large pot ) is not flowering although I feed it with citrus feed. Help please

Nice
More videos please 💙💙💙
With the small leaves and weeping habit, it strikes me as a plant that might make an interesting bonsai tree for display.
Wow amazing new to me so beautiful.
Gorgeous
Thank you for putting videos
Very helpful video. Thank you
Do you ever root prune your citrus?
We don't typically root prune because it makes the plant susceptible to root disease. Roots grown tightly in the pot is actually a good thing with citrus, allowing them to live in the same size pots for years.
Those are so cool I’ve never seen a red lime
Man those lucky yummy!
This cannot be shipped to California, right?
Correct - unfortunately, we cannot ship citrus to California. Thank you for your interest.
Wauu,Nice very Nice 💖
Wow! What a cool citrus tree! Can you ship them to Arizona?
