He became very nasally and would squawk some passages rather than sing them... He has got most of his range and finesse back again which is a great thing for Dave and DM.

Thanks DM for Goosebumps in 2023. Emotions are still alive. This song makes me cry I don't know why but it's not important at all. Beauty has no explanation.
This is the perfect example of why music should mature together with its artist's age. This song makes a lot of sense to people facing adult life, especially if you've already lost someone and is thinking about death and getting old. It's a shame when I see a lot of bands that were awesome in the past that don't allow themselves to mature, forcing cringy high-pitch attempts and repeating their old songwriting formula, with lyrics appealing more to young people's realities etc. Congrats to those two gentlemen. Awesome arrangement as well, as good as the studio version.
The strange part is that this song was written and recorded while Andy was still around. Martin and Dave wanted this record to be about mortality and growing old, without realizing what would happen next.
@@fallinginthed33psurely they have both lost many other close people before Andy. Parents , unkles, friends, professional collaborators. It's been my honor, to see Depeche Mode become famous, to see them experience their own personal hardships, in this journey called life, and now I feel like there finding there way and possibly learning about heaven and God! I pray 🙏🏻💜 they will know God is where forgiveness lives! 🕊️👍🏻💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Wow. It blew my mind. This song sounds like the melodic eulogy for Andy Fletcher, or at least was written with the inspiration of his sudden passing. Smart text that unleashes the dialogue with the inevitable death.
