I'm not trying to be offensive, but...why do I get like a mobile game on a budget kinda feeling about the whole presentation? It oddly looks like a Google Play fake gameplay advertising at times. It must be the overall look of the game, the combat animations or the HUD with few details, basic colors and some very non-medieval looking fonts 👀. Like, the damage numbers popping up are...umh, let's just agree that they feel way off ahah.
While I like to make a good critique, I'm also not sure how much time and money were spent in a title like this, so, I'm pretty ignorant as of now, and you can scold me for being THIS maliciously bold about it...
Nasty stuff from my unmannered mouth, BUT...since I like many turn based games like XCOM, The Banner Saga, Ashes of Gods, Divinity and so on, underneath those little setbacks, it seems like a very fun game that I'll definitely keep an eye out for and that I would probably enjoy anyway, even with all of those bad things I presumed about it!
Lots of player are complaining about the turn-based system being limited turns.
Are u guys addressing that ? Im considering buying a few copies of that game if u can remove that, so it can be a true Turn-based-RPG.
@@mdnght0095 I also can't stand timers in games. It's never fun to feel rushed. It's basically artifical difficulty.

Protect this studio at all costs, while the game is a kickstarter/indie it still looks better than most of the AAA titles of it's genre, the animations could use some improvement but the overall thought & efforts that were put into this game are well worth the support.

Animations and some combat abilities could use some work but first title I’ll add this company on my principle list with falcon cdpr and a few others that I buy just cause I want good gaming back. Not everybody can write an essay about a topic and attract a reader without them having any idea on the topic. Started to watch this channel for the games I wanted to learn about, then transitioned into watching most videos even if I don't like the game reviewed. Keep going dude, you're creating amazing content.

This looks very cinematic for a turn based strategy. I don't think I've ever seen an RTS with quite this kind of presentation style before. I think I'm gonna support the developers and get this one. Who knows? maybe they can make the improvements in future updates or add more in-game resources like armors ,weapons, items. Maybe even a DLC. One can hope.
This is not Real Time Strategy. I think you mean turn-based and on that front the presentation style of the new Fire Emblem games is extremely similar
It take the style from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
This is just realistic Fire Emblem from your descriptions. Long dialogues/cutscenes, t-rpg, always a gameplay surprise, lots of characters, Big monsters (which is a good thing in my opinion)
I love me some fire emblem and when I heard about this and saw it, it immediately became something I was looking forward to. It's awesome that you covered it and you just bumped my hype meter up even more. I can't wait for it to drop.

@@GrechStudios Wartales also looks great. I liked the demo I played ages ago, but I only rarely get into a game when it's in EA. I'm keeping a close watch on Wartales, though. If they do that thing where they announce the last sale before a final price hike prior to coming out of EA I'll almost certainly grab it then.
@@iDEATH I've been waiting out the EA too. This month their releasing a big expansion. Then next up is a co-op expansion which i don't care too much about. So i might jump in after this new one coming out, if i have the time.

This looks a lot like what I've been wanting for some time! Something similar to Three Houses but for PC. Really excited for this now and I hadn't heard of it either. Hope it's priced like a budget title, otherwise I'll have to take in a few other reviews before pulling the trigger.

I've seen this pop up in a few places recently and thought it looked really good especially for being an indie game. It sort of has that "mobile game fake trailer" feel to it for some reason though. I think it's just the nature of the animations.

Never played XCOM but I'm big into Fire Emblem. This one has major Fire Emblem vibes.
I just finished kotor2, this looks like a pretty great next game for me given I'm very much in the moody for talky tactical gaming.

Oh my god I had no idea this even existed and it's a must-buy for me. My gf has a switch and I have a PS so while I game at her place all the time I've never been able to put the time into the newer Fire Emblem games. This looks like it'll scratch that itch!
Well if ACG says it's a buy then it's a buy for me. Never even heard of the game but looks fun and I just got done playing Diofield Chronicle looks a tiny bit similar.

To me this seems like an European version of Fire Emblem and it looks great. I played 3DS titles on an emulator and I won't buy Switch just to play 3 Houses, so this might be a good substitude.

The fact that you compared this to XCOM and not Fire Emblem startles me. Great review otherwise and glad you covered it because I had no idea this existed.
ACG is easily one of the best reviewers around , each review a meticulously crafted essay and I guess an experienced and of the older demographic gamer too. I noticed that too and was startled more from the fact that he compared it to Kingdom Under Fire which is an infinitely more niche title than FE . It's as though he made a bet with himself that he wouldn't state something so obvious...? Or maybe he has never touched FE?

i just love the attention to details... the camp being like a living environment is awesome
i just wish we could customize more or create character maybe.. but its ok if the story is good enough and the endingS are good enough ...
i kinda like the version of pathfinder games from owlcat studio which gives you chance to climb higher than actual human being all the way to becoming devil or lich or demon or god or angel or remain human or be your own ruler of your own kingdom and politics etc... i really love those things, i loved those aspects even in mass effect series and dragon age series but they were not many

The clash between the UI and the visuals here is super interesting to me. It's got the UI of something like Fire Emblem and the visual style of a less horny Kingdom Under Fire. I can't say I've ever seen that.
