The backgrounds when upscaled still hold up today and look better than modern games, at least from the standpoint of creating a true fantasy, and by true fantasy I mean a sort of 'dream world'.
@@astrahcat1212 I agree, I think my only complaint is the crowd of sprites. I never noticed them till I recorded this. I always remembered them being fully modelled people
The ps1 final fantasy games were peak in terms of atmosphere and world character. You really felt like you were in a world. 9 was a masterpiece of a world that felt lived in.
I know exactly what you mean. The PS1 and PS2 FF games really felt like dreams. In XV and XVI I always felt like I was more or less in normal reality, which is impressive in its own way, but the games have definitely lost something. They don't affect me nearly as much.
That's how bus routes work? - Same number buses go up and down the same street - they only have different numbers if they go to different stops or drive down different roads.
@@M-E_123 that's true, Where I live each bus has a number and that number has a different route to take. Mine is 24 so if I got on another numbered bus then I would be going in the wrong direction.
Perfect timing! Now that summer is over I have to get back to studying. I have to know a LOT of things about a LOT wines so these long videos are perfect. Although I might switch back to an older one you did because after 20 minutes the cars are starting to annoy me a bit haha.
@@myownway7777 It's so good isn't it. My only complaint is that I never remembered the crowds of people just being pixelated sprites. When its on an old TV our head sort of fills in the blanks I guess. Blown up to 2k and you see everything

@@SaraCryWolf Hi, sadly I haven't really tried any FF games after FF 12. I did try the MMO but just couldn't commit enough time to justify the monthly subscription. And also people have already done some good ambience videos of that one. I would highly recommend you record your own videos if no one has gotten around to doing it. Even if they're lazy and low effort like mine, someone will enjoy them.
@@tomdoughty1577 XV is very flawed, but some of my favorite characters and music. And hey, I appreciate even the low effort! I used to have save files on my PSX that I could load just to vibe to the music. Compression of Time, chefs kiss.

It's the pre-rendering. Made jrpg's great

This game is a masterpiece
These bring back so many fond memories playing this game ❤
Still remains my favorite FF
Cool, why is it your fave?
Love the synchopated style in Deling city's theme
Hey look at that,
Every bus in the city is no 8 😂
Dont have to wait long

Final Fantasy VIII had some great music for all of its towns.

Gotta love those low-res vehicles.
