i always cry whenever they show the hoarder's significant other being so supportive and kind. it's not easy. mad respect to the families and the professionals for being patient and understanding.
It's definitely a struggle 😩 cause sometimes you want to ask what is wrong with them. My aunt was a big time hoarder and I see my mom doing the same thing.
"I wanna see a bigger dent." "It's coming, honey." "Okayy." So cute omg it shouldn't've gotten that bad, but the support they have for each other is so great!!
@ health can be considered a good thing or bad thing. Maybe you dont know the English language has two meanings to some of our words, but get with it...
You could see the lightbulb of self-recognition go on in Raymond's head when Dr. Green explained the difference between humility and martyrdom. That's some high-level insight into this man! And I just love Peter. He's one of the funniest men I've seen! My suggestion for reaching Donald would be to ask him how many hours a day he expects to work to achieve his dream of moving his "library" (i.e., old filthy books) to another state, then setting it up in an event space and CATALOGUING it. Then ask a professional librarian and the owner of an event facility how many hours they think the process would take and divide by the number of hours per day Donald is willing/able to work. I suspect Donald will be in the grave long before the process is finished. MEANWHILE, NO ONE IS GETTING AN USE OUT OF ALL OF THOSE BOOKS.
Wow! Such a heart warning episode ❤️ I PRAY FOR ALL THREE FAMILIES! However, am so proud and happy for the 2 that put their lives and families first with your help!
It makes me wonder if the friendship with Donald continued after their houses were clean and his remained hoarded? I’m glad the brothers were in it for the long haul. This is one of my favorite episodes😊
This degree of cooperation is not something you see every time on this show! They did great. I wonder what happened to the other guy? I'm not making light of this-- but I don't think this episode of Hoarders would have been good for his real estate career. Maybe that's why he didn't participate?
@@bohemianlilac its never an answer about these psychological things (or at least often like you said) but it can absolutely help to dampen the symptoms while proper counseling can be the answer but until then you have to keep the situation in check and for that medication works
My mom hoarded as long as I can remember. Weird stuff. Broken plastic utensils, cardboard, moldy books, dead plants and more. After my dad died, my brother and I tried to keep her mess under control. When she remarried, husband two could not believe the messes she could make. There are a lot of hoarders in the family. Tina
There’s not much a family can do. Filthy people will keep creating filth anywhere and everywhere they go. If you clean a space, they’ll see it as a challenge to fill it!
Wow! If you hear their Jobs in the Beginning, you start wondering about their hoarding Problems! They could have managed it alone if they'd work together?! Lol
Part of this is due the fact that Western culture is all about getting more and more and not accepting the temporary nature of everything. We go through life with blinders on, not accepting that it is all going to end.
Hope the brothers were able to control their Hoarding OCD eventually. I sort of felt sad for Donald but he was such a selfish ungrateful jerk to Matt that I hope the local government condemned his house and forced him to move. I also noticed he apparently didn't have any family show up in his situation which I suspect he is at fault for whatever estrangement there happens to be.
If you think of cleaning is work costs $10/h (idk, correct me), not cleaning for a long time will accumulate the work to a large sum of money. Clean everyday or at least once a week may help save a lot.

Raymond is in the rare group of hoarders that value more its partner than its stuff. Congrats to him.
I really thought he was going to be THE problem. Nope. Let’s go !
True
I love how the old man refers to the other old man as his "baby brother"
Yes it was too cute
Very cute. Hard to believe 3 men have the same hoarding habits

Agree 100%. Has to be a tough job for all of them

I’m so happy for the wives, you can definitely see they were the main motivators for the 2/3 of the group who did agree to clean up their hoard.
Mental health is very real and shouldn't be taken lightly.
So very true 👍👍
Yes, absolutely! Poor mental health can influence physical health in serious ways.
i think you mean "mental illness". Mental health is a good thing.

what a good man. She is blessed.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Donald looks alone. He has nobody to hold on to, so I guess his holding on to the next best thing, his collected stuff.
That’s the vibe that I got, it seemed like he didn’t have a wife or partner and the two gentlemen that agreed to do the cleanup did.
It blows my mind how their partners put up with that and still live with them and enable their struggle ..true love does exist huh 😂😂🤣🤣
What really blows my mind man is that Raymond's wife sat there and called out Donald before her husband's own hoarding!👀👀👀
That's not true love. That's abuse and mental illness.

If they don't go to long-term counseling and get medicated, the after will look like the before in a year or less!
Medication isn’t always the answer
