    Great video,HH! Never done a dishwasher, just figure shred and a motor and transformer for the most part. But fun to see you dismantle it for the sake of my entertainment 😅! Despite the way things been around here, don't want no trouble no more, thanks for cheering me up👍

    On the piece from the gauge, I break the copper off and the rest goes as clean brass at my yard.
    Cool seeing Banx and River playing, looks like a peaceful spot.

      Yeah, it's one of our favourite spots. Really quiet and cool. For now. When the water is deeper there will probably be more boat traffic.

      Brass with copper is basically clean brass since brass contains copper anyway when it’s all melted down. I think dirty copper applies to irony, plastic, etc. contamination that has to be separated.

    • @HHRecycling
      @HHRecycling  2 місяці тому +1

      @dr.a006 right, but I think the solder counts as contamination at my yard. I'm going to take it to my yard and let them have a look. Just to know. It's not like the few gauges I get will amount to much.

    • @dr.a006
      @dr.a006 2 місяці тому

      @@HHRecycling makes sense if they ding you for the solder. But that’s pretty picky of them since tin is an additive in certain brass alloys for color, strength, wear resistance and corrosion resistance 🤷‍♂️
      Maybe they don’t know the metallurgy and they’re just the middle man that wants to pay lower for any reason. I bet it all goes in the same melt pot in the end.

    Even without a door someone would buy that three way fridge if the cooling system works. I had a beater sitting in my yard and a fridge guy gave me $500 on trade in. Just plug in the AC plug and if it cools it's good to go and someone should pay you at least $50 for it and can build a new door easily with some foam etc. my two cents.

    • @HHRecycling
      @HHRecycling  3 місяці тому +1

      @@Nas_Atlas maybe down there in the populated world, but I see these working and for sale for months and they can't get $100 for them. This one doesn't work though. That's why we pulled it out. It sort of works on propane, but not enough to be worth it.
      I see how fast you sell stuff there and it almost makes me want to live near people again. Almost.

    Nice tear down. I had one I did awhile back but it had tar on the outside. Remember the metal can still be stainless as the heat changes the molecular structure of the metal, thus the magnetic drag. You have lots of room. Does your yard have a category for elements?

    • @HHRecycling
      @HHRecycling  2 місяці тому +1

      @scrapnjunk81 yeah, I have had the ones with tar as well, they were just household ones. I know it's stainless but my yard checks with a magnet. I did ask them about it yesterday and they said there is an uncleanable stainless category but it's only a penny or two above shred so I didn't feel it was worth me emptying it out of all the shred I put in it to get the 20 cents. No, they don't have element categories, really. Mixed titanium is about as fancy as it gets.
