I did a run on May 2nd on the leaked version and one 7 hours before this

the idea of many people speedrunning this over and over and sitting through the first first 7 minutes having 0 inputs just makes my stomach hurt. They should patch a speedrunner version that starts on the title screen with link falling, and just put the pair of pants in your inventory.

I find this way more impressive then current totk speedruns. This is an honest man's speedrun. No item dupes, no clipping out of bounds and skipping entire battles, not even amibo use. And this was ran on release day! You sir are a gentleman and a scholar.
What a madlad. I was casually able to almost make it through boko horde right after paraglider, but I wasn’t confident (or creative) enough to grab all of the weapons and materials to make it more doable.
Y’all realize there was 9 phases of enemies at the end? Like the 9 circles of hell? Good lord this is overkill! Props dude!

@@gigantomastiaCuddler That is a disingenuous post. Gym especially is super tight with nintendo. A lot of content creators got the game early, but only about a week. Thats not from being scummy, it was a gift.
Yes some people pirate, but lets not assume everyone did, especially if they were willing to post it already =)
@@gigantomastiaCuddler how is it scummy? Because Nintendo didn’t want you to play their finished game until a completely arbitrary date that they decided would be the day we get to play it? Besides, you can’t submit runs with emulators, so you can’t even make the piracy argument since anyone running the game has purchased a legit copy since.
@@mingledingle1556 that's not true. You can "jailbreak" older versions of the Switch and load the pirated game onto it via PC.

Super good performance there, and materials implementations are clutch.
I can see that one of the setbacks is that Link doesn't want to stick to surfaces as good as before. Super bad for people who have BotW controls burned into their neurons.
It feels as a lowkey Talus' buff also, i personally was super confused when one of them whooped me harder than a Lynel

Not a chance. The movement is too optimized at this point. I expect at most 10-20 more seconds can be saved, maybe a
minute with TAS.
It could be. People will continue competing for a while, but it would take inhuman luck in addition to perfect execution to beat this time. I wouldn't be surprised if this record stands forever.
Oot is 7 minutes. The start alone is about 7 minutes so I doubt with absolute certainty that it's nearly impossible. Nearly. There could always be a credits warp but with the first 7 minutes being mostly cutscenes I doubt it.
@@isgamer-8732 could always get something similar to SRM and just write code that replaces one of the cutscenes with the demon dragon or end credits lol
@@sledathon There is absolutely no chance the record stands forever, the game just came out... there is bound to be large improvements in many categories once the game gets fully broken apart

Little thing about the demon dragon, you dont need to save yourself when landing on it, there is no fall damage.

also you can jump off early instead of waiting the zelda flying animation to finish.

also when gdorf does the spear/heart-eating orb attack, if you go forward and around orbs he triggers an attack as soon as you're in line
i'm guessing he does it not to prevent fall damage but so he can actually get into those niches and avoid the gloom damage from the rest of the dragon's scales
By the way, thanks to a casual play, I know that it’s possible to stun lock phase 1 of Ganondorf with well timed crit arrow shots. That may be useful in future speedruns.

In the fight against demon king ganondorf, you can deflect ganondorf's malice beams like in ocarina of time, that also deals him damage so idk if it helps to beat it faster

Tip for Ganon, you can shield parry instead so he doesn't dodge when you attack back.
