i just gotta say average life expectancy isnt how long most people lived. its brought down significantly by infant mortality. if you survived to adolescence you were likely to survive to elder age (aside from disease and stuff)
@@percivallgunn1222 I dont have anything written down currently unfortunately, but it is specifically based around the fallout games and i have two separate rolls for sims inside and outside of my fallout vault
I've been doing this challenge (just got to the famine!) and I have changed a couple things. I've fiddled with the ages to be a bit more realistic (shortened teen years, lengthened young adult and adult years, allowed elders) while also making it *far* more likely for people to die in their younger years and decrease the chance the older they get. I also added some mods that added realistic health and wellness, and whenever my sim gets sick, I also roll to see if they die of their illness. My sim's first heir just died because he'd been sick at that point for three years so I thought it time lol. Since his wife also died in childbirth and only had girls other than the one boy, I also have to have the father remarry to potentially have another heir. It's been really hard, but I've been enjoying it so far!
I've actually adopted this challenge for the Sims 3 - the challenge seemed so fun that I couldn't resist giving it a whirl for my preferred Sims game of choice. I'm planning on giving it a proper go soon once I make sure all of the systems are working with a test run. As an added thing with the Sims 3, I am including occult sims (since I prefer a hint of fantasy sprinkled in compared to complete realism) - but they have their own rules. Fairies, Witches, Plant Sims and Werewolves are present as NPCs in the medieval times. They can marry into families and offspring can genetically be occult sims, but that is the only way they can continue on past a certain historical point. By the industrial age, the only occult that is present is vampires if none of the others can carry their genes to that time period. By modern day, -no- occult sims are present outside of whatever may have carried on genetically. I'm leaning into the idea of the supernatural and fantastical fading over time. Ghosts are the one exception and are always allowed but they can't have kids.
I can't even imagine how much work you put into this challenge because it looks amazing! I was thinking for days about it, searching for information about old English-American families(I even find a family tree from 1250 to 2005) and gathering together all the history pieces for my first try. I'm so excited about it! Thank you very much for your hard work
This sounds sooo amazing. I really need to write a big mod for this. :'D Thank you so much for your awesome content and ideas. I love the historical Sims challanges.
I know I'm a bit late to the party but I love this challenge soooo much ! I've been playing it since August last year and I'm in 1373. It is really cool, I cannot wait to get further along. You didn't write what happens after 1815 until today though (at least until the Decades Challenge starts, in 1890).
Love it! It seems impossible though when combined with the Deadly Dickensian Sicknesses mod lol. I'm on 1305, two of my children died due to a death roll, one to typhoid, husband died due to scarlet fever ;_;
Current in game issues when playing ultimate decades- fridge says 100% when it’s not and food spoils, my toddler has permanent hiccups from baby stage, higher than reasonable chance. I have one toddler heir, will have to start all over if he dies. The first heir, his dad, died of laughter from p,aging with goats. Death didn’t even if me a chance to plead cause I was dealing with the infant. WTH. So do yourself a favor. Start with three brothers living together.
I love this challenge and it's the only way I want to play Sims now! I think I misunderstood about "pregnancy attempts." I took that to mean how many times they could try for a pregnancy, but the way you described in this video made much more sense (after the Great Famine I need more people!) so I'm very glad I found this explanation! I appreciate all the work you have put into this and, while it is absolutely gut wrenching the number of young sims who have died, I appreciate the realism.
I'm looking forward to part 2, because I'm really having trouble setting up the mods so that pregnancies and the like work the way you envisioned. The side households can be played in parallel with the main household, but they don't have to, right?
Love the video and looking at starting the challenge. I have got most of the mods but would love to see what custom content you are using for clothes, hair, shoes etc for all the life stages xx
Will you be making your own rules and events for the 1890s-2020s? I know there are other rules for those already elsewhere but I REALLY love how you add events to yours and special rolls and things. Thank you for this video!
Love your video !!! 💜 What are you writing in the sims info spreadsheet if your heir is remarrying after his wife died? Do you start a new section for the futur kids and new wife or do you stay in the current section ?
This seems so popular I think they should make an official version of it. The makers of the sims could collaborate with the person who originally came up with the idea. It would be wonderful for people to have all the necessary modifications and clothing choices for different eras without having to download mods. And for my sake, I wish it could be available to play on my iPad. I don’t have a PC, and as far as I’m aware you can’t use sims mobile or sims FreePlay for this.

I was wondering why you didn’t do the sims excel list (stages) in a tree style format also? When someone married in, enter them directly below row and then each child in next column, below parents names.
One thing i have noticed is it is impossible to see what the rules are for each century or decade in the list. It just shows a pic of the century bar bigger. Its also very difficult to find the rules altogether without coming to one of these videos. When looking online, just takes me to tumblr and cant even access the info. Just a giant picture of the info page.

I feel a little foolish asking this but did you move all of the information in the Sims Info chart down as new sims were born, or did you do something to make a new row underneath the parents? As in, when Lettice and Peter had kids even though Lettice's sisters and their husbands were below them; did you copy the information and move it down by inputting it manually via copy-paste, or did do something else? I've been really enjoying playing this challenge and wanted to start the 1300s instead of the 1890s, but I couldn't figure out how you got the colors to match the parents! I hope this makes sense, and thank you for your time either way! You did great on this challenge
This is an expansion of another challenge, which started in the 1800s. Search up Decades Challenge by ZombieCleo and you can find rules for 1800s onwards
Where is everyone finding the individual decades rules? I can get the main document to open but when I try to open the rules for the 1300s, 14002, 1500-1620, etc nothing opens
Idk if I'm late but I had this problem. Turns out that it was set/saved as a separate docs file and I just needed to open it manually. If that makes sense.
I’m really confused. I’ve been trying to set up this challenge, but do I use the medieval sims game for this? Or just the regular one with a bunch of mods?
In the MORBID'S ULTIMATE DECADES CHALLENGE Google Doc, under the heading 'Time,' there are two hyperlink Xs. The second is a link to the blank spreadsheet. :)
@@arianna8677 ok, thanks. I'll check it out. At the time when I went in the docs I think I only saw the one with everything on it from her Livestreams.
Hi, Just a quick question on the "death rolls". I am starting this challenge with a family of two brothers and their elder parents. They are twins. An elder "Parson" from another town is bringing his 2 nieces to meet the sons for a marriage contract. So, two families that will be joined. On day 1, do I have to do a roll to see if the parents live? Also, one of these twin sons will be the heir, and the other will be the side family. Do I do the death rolls for both the heir and the side family, too, when they bear children? Thanks for the help. :)
How do you get the info sheet organized by last name? Is there a way to make the program rearange the rows when you put in simeone with the same last name as someone else? Or a way to move rows? Right now my info sheet is all over the place and its a bit confusing
Where would you put your starter sims in the timeline? Like I understand how to put their children and what not on there, but our starting young adults who are in the 1300s, where would you put them on the chart? Hope that makes sense.
Can someone please explain in detail how to start these challenges? I downloaded all the mods, but do I need to download something special to start the challenge? What is the logic of these challenges? Ok I know what it is, survive, play by the rules, bla bla, but HOW TO START THIS. WHAT TO START BY DOING? SOMETHING LIKE A MOD? SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!
I would watch other people's lets plays for inspo look up a video about the time period/era and also look up different mod videos for historical gameplay reddit is a good place for inspo also the UA-cam comment sections are great for finding inspiration cause people talk about what they are doing. But yeah watch morbid gamers decades challenge to get a feel for everything and then do like a cc haul mabey go into cas and make your founders and the family members and fix everything that's gonna annoy you like random sims in other words I would just delete them and just figure out how you wanna play and as far as surviving/aesthetics in those early stages? Mods mods mods!! It's never gonna be perfect and the sims is annoyingly good at breaking immersion but mods are gonna help you get the best results. And surviving? Garden herbology candle making chickens cows lammas and horses if you have them woodworking and then extra skills like blacksmithing you can get from mods but basically sell your goods you could even paint and for aesthetic purposes use only candle lighting to light your house. Okay those are all my tips ❤
How do you decide how townies (not the side households) will get married or have kids or die? Do you use neirborhood stories and let sims do whatever or do you do it manually?
Personally, I cleared out all of Windenburg and planted sims for my challenge in all the houses there. I gave them all ages and put them on my spreadsheet. In that neighborhood, story progression is off, aging is off, and no one is married, born, dies, or ages up without me doing it manually. This way my main sims are being matched with people who have always been a part of the challenge/neighborhood. If my neighborhood is looking a bit sparse (Great Famine, wars) I can choose an outside family to add to my neighborhood as needed and they become part of the challenge (I haven't done that...yet). Outside of my challenge families, all NPC and unplayed households have story progression on except for moving in/out because I don't want them to accidentally move into my challenge neighborhood. Also, I designated Old Town and Modern District as my low income housing (if my daughter marries there I pay $500), Countryside as my middle income area ($5000 if my daughter marries there), and The Island as my wealthy area ($10,000 if my daughter marries there).
I know I am late but is there anyway I could possibly do this with the sims 3? If not I guess I will break down and get the sims 4 but what are the EP/SP/Kits that are relevant to get ? FYI I am only looking to do just medieval. So don’t want to buy all the packs if I don’t have to.
Get Together and Cottage Living are a must for me when I decide to play in a fantasy/medieval setting. If you like fantasy gameplay (not strictly medieval) I would also suggest Realm of Magic. And you could get Seasons for extra realism
thank you so much! I have started my challenge 3 weeks ago, currently on 1322 . and my eldest daughter and the mom passed away. thanks again for the insight!@@valerias6179

Not used to spreadsheets. When I add a new row on my sims info sheet it doesn't retain the formulas for the values part, they're just blank. I don't know how to fix it and I'm kinda bummed because I put in a lot of work to my safe file and I feel sad that I'm missing out on that small feature. Is there a correct way to add the rows?
so when you roll, if u have a yuong adult do you roll for what they are becoming (adult) or what they are (young adult) i may be overthinking this but am very confused LOL
Saw someone in a comments section once who said they have a sims 4 save file in which they started from the stone age and r now currently in the ancient greek era. The dedication is wild but it also proves u can do sm if u have a good imagination
I'm still confused on one part, I'm sorry, with SIDE HOUSES, is the d12 roll how many woohoo chances they get, or is it that # of pregnancies? E.i rolling a 6, is it 6 woohoos, or 6 pregnancies? I think the phrase "pregnancy attempts" is confusing me. 😅
@@Morbid_Gamer Yes that is what I mean. There is no roll for enterering "end of life adult" for 1300s and no roll for entering elderhood in 1400s and 1500s. I have made up my own
Anyone know what we should do for infants??? There’s no mod to kill them yet that I’ve found and I can’t shift click starve them like I can for babies…
I love the idea but it does seem a bit hypocritical to prohibit things such as sexism and racism which I agree shouldn't be allowed but then allow killing infants and babies? The moral grounds make no sense at all
But if you want to be accurate about history then you have to include everything that you mention in the disclaimer otherwise it doesn't make sense to call it " The Ultimate Decade Challenege".

I just got to this cool challenge but i still cant figure out where and how to download it? can anyone help me please
Is there a correct way to add the rows?
mucho mias 🤘
Do you have the blank spreadsheet?
where do you find the blank spreadsheet? :D
so when you roll, if u have a yuong adult do you roll for what they are becoming (adult) or what they are (young adult) i may be overthinking this but am very confused LOL
Hello, is there a link to the blank spreadsheet? I can't seem to find it. The one linked above is a completed version. Thank you!
I cant find the blank sims info chart? can someone help?😅
Wonder how it would work if you started from year 0.
Saw someone in a comments section once who said they have a sims 4 save file in which they started from the stone age and r now currently in the ancient greek era.
The dedication is wild but it also proves u can do sm if u have a good imagination
@@rainwetroses now that would be awesome to watch and do. Will definitely be looking into this.
@@rainwetrosesI’m doing that right now, I did Stone Age and I’m currently in a mix of Ancient Greek / Rome / Egyptian era
How do you download this? Thank you 🙂
How do you get prompted for side household births?
MCCC - notifications.
@@aoefeable thank you!
Where can I download this mod from?
What do you do about school for your sims? :)
With MCCC you can go to careers and have children and teens quit school.
How can i cheat, that my teens can get married?
I'm still confused on one part, I'm sorry, with SIDE HOUSES, is the d12 roll how many woohoo chances they get, or is it that # of pregnancies? E.i rolling a 6, is it 6 woohoos, or 6 pregnancies? I think the phrase "pregnancy attempts" is confusing me. 😅
it’s number of woohoos (try for baby if not using mods)
What you do if all your sims die...?
Then u lose ig lol
How do you marry your teenage sims? I’ve tried everything with the mcc mod but i just can’t figure it out 😭
You need MC Woohoo as well and set it up via PC in game
There's also an arranged marriage mod that you can download
How can you get teens married because I’m struggling
Its a mod called teen pregnancy
You can also you MCCC
So no extra roll for surviving into the end of years? Not even in later centuries when they become elders?
Like will they roll elder rolls?? Because they will. Life expectancy will get longer later on
@@Morbid_Gamer Yes that is what I mean. There is no roll for enterering "end of life adult" for 1300s and no roll for entering elderhood in 1400s and 1500s. I have made up my own
@@JJ-ig6ot That's because they didn't live that long, life expectancy is shorter.
Anyone know what we should do for infants??? There’s no mod to kill them yet that I’ve found and I can’t shift click starve them like I can for babies…
you could age them up and kill them as toddlers
I love the idea but it does seem a bit hypocritical to prohibit things such as sexism and racism which I agree shouldn't be allowed but then allow killing infants and babies? The moral grounds make no sense at all
But if you want to be accurate about history then you have to include everything that you mention in the disclaimer otherwise it doesn't make sense to call it " The Ultimate Decade Challenege".
But I also stated that this isnt 100% accurate and never will be. We are still playing the Sims 4 afterall
