i've added this little disclaimer in a pinned comment to my first video, but if you're new and still in the earlier episodes, i just wanted to address any concerns regarding accuracy and occult sims:
thank you for watching! a heads up for new viewers: this LP begins to utilize occult sims and will continue to do so moving forward. this challenge is fun, but limited in that there are no individual aspirations or skill goals, so i have adapted it to my liking in order to keep things interesting for myself AND viewers and keep videos from getting reduntant and solely focused on death rolls. that's just how i have chosen to approach it to make it fun for me, because i'm more likely to commit to this challenge if i'm having fun first and foremost.
while i keep the "historical" events listed in the challenge, the setting itself has become highly au, anachronistic, and "inspired" by these events rather than being 10000% historically accurate (think, ASOIAF being inspired by the War of the Roses).
if that is not what you are here for, then that's fine! there are plenty of amazing UDC videos that may be suited to your liking!
A secret affair between the prince and the girl but he's expected to marry another girl of higher standing. Once the king is dead he rushes to the love of his life, and makes her his queen. :D

Sepsis makes sense for the dad, if he was a carpenter maybe he had accidentally cut himself while working on a project and without proper medical care, the cut morphed into an infection in the bloodstream. While sad, the lack of fluids and antibiotics makes his tragic fate realistic!

In my game (mines set in Asia)I also have a similar storyline but it’s not a royal, it’s a servant and a noble so I’m all for the prince storyline thing. Hopefully his father do not forced to marry some princess 😕

i definitely considered the princess betrothal route, but i've gotta work on expanding some of my other empty worlds, so we'll definitely see! the whole noble/servant noble/peasant fiction trope is definitely one of my faves. and i love that yours is set in asia!

I love the idea of the siblings marrying nobles or royalty. Then they can move out and leave James the house.
I was rewatching the first episode wondering how much already happened there! You are such a talented storyteller!
You should use Zero Sims 4 mods; she made a list for all her historical mods and you can have your sims die from Dickens type diseases. I know you are well past this moment in your game play, but just for future reference…as the king has just died you should put the ladies of the household in black and the males in black or browns; black if they’re nobles. The tradition of black mourning clothing in the West dates back to the Roman Empire, when the family of the deceased would wear a dark-colored toga, called a toga pulla. This tradition persisted in England throughout medieval times, when women were expected to wear black caps and veils when their husbands passed away. Special black caps and bonnets were worn with these ensembles. Widows were expected to wear these clothes up to four years after their loss to show their grief. Jewelry often made of dark black jet or the hair of the deceased was used.
i do use a couple of zero's mods like the gardening and pickpocket-for-all ones! i just use health redux for more health condition options rather than the disease mod, but i may use that.
(and EDIT): i was made aware of their bad takes on game representation, so i plan on removing their mods from my game and just keep the health redux for medical stuff!
and i have sort of switched mourning attire for one royal family when that comes up because their court is relatively small, but i admit i do get lazy with so many sims LMAO

Belated thank you for having given the direction on how you found the sims you pulled in to be your royal family. Under the impressions of your machinima I just went and found "the advisor" for my own game. ;D I just had to. ^.^

Just found your vid and already im hooked! I tried to do the regular decade challenge and it was disasterous. If you dont mind me asking where can i find that mortality wheel, cant find it for the life of me. That would of been a game changer... i think not having my sims realistically going through some illness that lead to death killed my joy. If it wasnt a miscarriage from Lumpinou's pregnancy mod then they were only dying from old age or war.
thank you so much! trust me, when i first played this challenge, literally everyone kept dying Dx and the wheel can be found on Morbid Gamer's discord server!! i believe they were created by her and her followers, but they have them for each life stage! the varied death causes definitely makes it more engaging!
@@rinseesims thank you so much for the info! And here i was looking at morbid's tumblr.... may sound weird but for the decade challenges i feel like unexpected deaths make the story spicy. If my sims survive til old age then they didnt have a fulfilling life🤣

omg thank you ;~; i use photoshop! i have the benefit of having it for work, but i believe you can sub to adobe for $20/month! there's also photopea which is the free browser version of photoshop. i don't use any special settings or anything aside from reshade presets in game and then brightening on PS!

@@kyesimmer this is really late but canva is also a good free alternative that comes with templates, so it's intuitive and easy to use
How did you get that death wheel? I always find it hard to pick how my sims die.

I wanna do this challenge so bad but i can't figure out how to put the windenburg override in my game :(
the instructions are at the bottom of the tumblr post! i think most are in the Mods folder, but there's a couple of Worlds folder files you have to replace as well!
@@rinseesims yeah, the part where I have to replace the world is my issue. I only saw directions about where to find it where your game is installed (example was origin/the sims 4/delta/ep02 or whatever) but I have EA app and I looked everywhere and couldn’t find it 😭 I could just be looking in the wrong place but I got frustrated lol
