- Linda Ronstadt performing 'Lo Siento Mi Vida' Live in Germany 1976. This is my favourite song on her 'Hasten Down The Wind' album issued in the same year.
Lyrics in English [Rough translation from the www]:
I feel my life
I know that she already finished
Broken hearts
Hope that went away
When the moon shines
I know that you will not sleep
Nor you
Nor I
The sad one has already arrived to weigh
We must always separate
The night that you were yourself
It changed my poor life
I am my sad soul
Thinking about my pain
When the moon shines
I know that you will not sleep
Nor you
Nor I
The sad one has already arrived to weigh
We must always separate
For I wait the night to
pass and turn to day
I can't make this feeling go away
'cause I get so weak when
the day is through
And I think of you
I'm gonna see it through
I feel my life
I know that she already finished
Broken hearts
Hope that went away
When the moon shines
I know that you will not sleep
Nor you
Nor I
The sad one has already arrived to weigh
We must always separate
To always separate
Just forgotten how much I loved this song when I bought the album back in 1977. Linda is a legend, in my book anyway.
tears in my eyes.... I grew up in '50's so weaned on early R&R and '60's, also early enough to have had great exposure to the true singers performers like Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Doris Day, Judy Garland, Jo Stafford, Ella, etc. I have 4 albums by this woman and lost touch of how much I loved her. Now I'm back and I put her and her voice right up there with all the greats. Need a new stereo for LP's but just bought "Don't Cry Now" on CD and play it in car, way up.
She is like none other!
I love you, Linda. I have always loved you. I will always love you. This song is only one of the many, many reasons that I love you, Linda. I forgive you for throwing the flower in your hair to Ricky Kitts, whom I treated to your D.C. concert and who sat beside me, grinning at you like a panther.
outstanding song...
Love this and her! "I'm Sorry, My Love"
One of Linda's BEST !!!!!!!! thanks so much for posting it.
Thanks for the 'Heads up'.......Done in a hurry and not checked. Now corrected.....but completely wrong all over the internet!!!
the saddest, most beautiful song ever
TRUE!
I think it is her most beautiful song too. Like you, I listen to it a lot. She is at her most gorgeous here too, of course. It would be interesting to know who composed what here. She did sing songs penned by her musicians - Andrew Gold, of course, but also Waddy Wachtel. Here she is indulging her love of all things Spanish and it is certainly beautiful.
@bon1042 totally agree!! Linda rates with the very best vocalists!!!!
Linda sang a song with her family on a CNN show tonight in Spanish. It was about being an orphan with no mother or father, no friend to console. Living at the edge of the palm Grove. Anyone know what the name of that song is? I just fell in love with it.
Great performance. The lyrics you have posted Muppet1950 are for Love Has No Pride and not Lo Siento Mi Vida. Thanks for posting this.
Thank you Kenny Edwards
since we don't speak any german...
kenny edwards our base player.
this makes me cry...
"Lo Siento Mi Vida"
Lo siento mi vida
Yo se que ya termino
Corazones quebrados
Esperanza que se fue
Cuando brille la luna
Yo se que no dormiras
Ni tu
Ni yo
Ya ha llegado el triste pesar
Debemos siempre separarnos
La noche que te fuiste
Cambio mi pobre vida
Quedo mi alma triste
Pensando en mi dolor
Cuando brille la luna
Yo se que no dormiras
Ni tu
Ni yo
Ya ha llegado el triste pesar
Debemos siempre separarnos
I wait for the night to pass and turn to day
I can't make this feeling go away
'Cause I get so weak when the day is through
And I think of you
I'm gonna see it through
Lo siento mi vida
Yo se que ya termino
Corazones quebrados
Esperanza que se fue
Cuando brille la luna
Yo se que no dormiras
Ni tu
Ni yo
Ya ha llegado el triste pesar
Debemos siempre separarnos
Siempre separar
Love the song, but the Babelfish translation does not do justice to lyric poetry. Lo siento mi vida = I'm sorry, my love.
