and integrate this in a eye glass and ull get the tony stark tech , this will be revolutionizing coz i was thinking of some ideas where this type of screen wass needed but now its possible , on top of that integrate this in vision pro xD
That could be possible with electrochromic glass since that can be clear or transparent and uses a small amount of power the ampere dusk smart glasses can change they tint from clear to dark so are a good current example
AR Glasses often come with a shade to put over them to block the background when you don't want it, if they do that then you have a choice. Not sure use cases for this outside of shopping malls (where something like this is actually being used in some very rich places) so you can see products from both sides of a window, but sure it looks neat.
If they had the tech to make it a touch screen this could be a good 2 in 1 design. But either way having a sheet of glass without metal borders as half of your laptop seems very fragile.
this actually looks awesome. i'm sure the tech will come about where you can use it like a normal display that we have these days when you need the panel to be opaque and private as well as easily switchable to transparent. schools where testing is monitored will probably use something like this in the future. or if you say you are typing notes in class the teacher will tell you to make your panel transparent. :p
Might actually be useful with another LCD layer behind it that's variably opaque. A display with alpha. The keyboard you can't touch type on, not so useful.
It's not practical at all, not only for privacy, on a bright day you won't be able to see anything, let alone read an article or post. You cant watch movies or play games on it, it's basically just a toy. It looks heavy, thought to handle and looks fragile af.
Sci-fi movies tech in real life:) It's cool but I agree , that it's main use will not be laptops or phones. The use case I see here is in something like airplanes, cars , windows, advertisements , cooking appliances and gear , specialized drawing boards ... It's cool anyway.
What if this is not an actual screen like the ones which are opaque that have definitely some hardware involved? What if this is just a projection like the keyboard of this laptop?
How they simulate black color????? U got lcd with backlight bleed affect the darkness, then u got OLED that solve that issue, now u don't even have black lol
It’s cool but what does it actually add to how laptops currently work? If anything you’ve just sacrificed privacy and picture clarity for an aesthetic.
What good will this do to us? So, other than its amazing technology, what good could it possibly have, especially on a laptop? It may even cause problems by showing what you are watching on the screen to the person entering the room from behind the screen :) The mentioned hotel lobby, billboards, etc. may be used for use, but I do not think it is useful on a laptop.
It's cool and all but for privacy reasons I'd never actually get or use one. Not that I'm doing anything shady on my laptop but inputting any personal information on that thing would be a nightmare.
I always think about this, when i see movies like avatar , they are showing futuristic transperant displays, then i thought, what a dumb director? When we are going for 2k 4k 8k display why would be future be like faded transpirant see-through display? Now it all make sense .
After the initial "wow" it will fizzle out like 3D TVs and many other useless inventions. Picture quality already looks substandard judging from the video. Also I really would like to see how it performs outside the dim room. Pretty sure the screen will become nigh-unusuable in sunlight. Won't even mention the keyboard. I'm assuming the whole thing would fly out the window after typing one sentence. Two words - tactile response. Or rather lack thereof.
I guess the glass phones we’ve been seeing in futuristic movies are here already
is this 2014 where everyone doing leaked transparent iphone render?
There was an one back in 2009 in the form as Sony Xperia Pureness. Although it was half the phone.
same with aliens
Yea, like Prometheus. They had one. When the woman was watching something about genes
and integrate this in a eye glass and ull get the tony stark tech , this will be revolutionizing coz i was thinking of some ideas where this type of screen wass needed but now its possible , on top of that integrate this in vision pro xD
That concept looks near consumer-ready. I'd give it 4-5 more years.
Imagine this technology in vehicle windshields
It would be incredible, hopefully it would still be usable even when the windshield inevitably is chipped or cracked
a speedometer is a must
Would be really impractical...the heat from the sun would kill the quality
clearly they'd enginner it so it wouldnt @@marlongordon7330
That... Sounds like a terrible idea
Going from "I can't find my contact lenses" to "I can't find my laptop" lol. 🔍 🤭
They just need to add the option of making the screen opaque and it would make it pretty interesting.
That could be possible with electrochromic glass since that can be clear or transparent and uses a small amount of power the ampere dusk smart glasses can change they tint from clear to dark so are a good current example
My favorite feature is the massive glare.
They should put in some kind of attachment so a physical keyboard could be used as an option.
0:47 Wow 😮! This is what you call audacious. One thing for sure is that it is stylish and just intriguing to look at.
Lots of cool things aren’t practical at all. But people buy them because they’re cool. This is definitely cool.
All the glass walls of a time square building can be displays for advertising and information.
Many many people they like the concept. Does the transparency will improve performance?
we've been complaining about privacy.. and now we have this

That's actually pretty impressive!
This would be wonderful for blueprint designing over an already built building, for things like renovation
This transparent displays is a good idea for AR glasses
Might actually be useful with another LCD layer behind it that's variably opaque. A display with alpha. The keyboard you can't touch type on, not so useful.
i would love to make a cover for the back to watch movies or games, and the rest of the time just use the cool transparent fun properties hehe
This is 4 months old, how am I finding out about this just now?
Now we need touch screen of this
But what about the privacy?
Is there any option to remove transparency system when you are doing some confidential work?
It's not practical at all, not only for privacy, on a bright day you won't be able to see anything, let alone read an article or post.

Lenovo always be Creative Tech Developer!!! Magnificent 👍🏻😃👍🏻

What can we see on the other side?
This laptop is perfect on apple vision pro augmented reality for hologram.
how much is the replacement screen? just in case you break it.
A kidney
it's translucent, not transparent. snell's law and the index of refraction results in some diffusion. it's not completely clear.
Transparent screens appear in many movies… now they are reality they seem a bit weird.
Somethings need tactile feedback ....like working on a laotop ...no...looks cool thougj like a 90s sci fi movie prop
Price?
My future gaming latop would definitely look like this 🔥
Finally! Something straight out of the sci-fi movies! 👏
2 hours tops !! Battery life
make it detachable.. it will look like the one tony used at stark tower in the avengers movie
Every 2015 kids dream
The laptop I would buy in the future be like:
What if this is not an actual screen like the ones which are opaque that have definitely some hardware involved? What if this is just a projection like the keyboard of this laptop?
What do you even use this for?
Just worried to see what you’re doing from the other side or behind
now let's use this tech to make hand terminals from the expanse real pleaseeee 😭
we are a step closer into Augmented Reality Glasses become possible
How they simulate black color????? U got lcd with backlight bleed affect the darkness, then u got OLED that solve that issue, now u don't even have black lol
Very cool concept, but it feels like a solution looking for a problem to solve
This is way better than dual screen laptop
Good technology, but what about privacy?
privacy out of the window
It’s cool but what does it actually add to how laptops currently work? If anything you’ve just sacrificed privacy and picture clarity for an aesthetic.
I would get this just a decoration. But, it actually has function 😊

Why?
is it oled or microled?
Vegeta, what does the laptop say about his power level?
It's basically a high tech lava lamp 🤔🤣
I felt like, as we move forward, we create things that are lacking in feeling to the touch and sound.
Privacy would be fantastic
😂😂
They would see everything backwards, excellent privacy!
My boss know everything now
Love It. Its super cyberpunk
Guys will Lenovo stop producing normal laptops like the thinkpad in the future?
Equal Micro Led AI Crystal Technology Fascinating
Definitely a buy 👍
It's cool and all but for privacy reasons I'd never actually get or use one. Not that I'm doing anything shady on my laptop but inputting any personal information on that thing would be a nightmare.
if you aren't doing anything illegal you have nothing to hide.
Some fun in design of tech please. Oh and the cars ...the new Fiat cars for the Next three years are totally cyberpunk
Sick! Good representation of today's privacy in USA crystal clear for everyone to view 😅😅
Imagine scraches
Next one is hologram phone appears from your smartwatch.
This looks really cool
Lmao it's basically smartphone touchscreen capability designed as a laptop keyboard
I would need a hardware calibrator to measure the black point before considering one of these.
Love it
what about privacy??
Why? Because it's awesome man!
That is sooooo freaking cool.
Successfully demo this concept outside with Mother Nature - all day - on sunny days between 30-100°F, then market it to the masses. Until then... 🤔
Ggs to the incognito homies out there.
Now people can see what you looking at behind you.
Definitely one of the weirdest at any rate.
I always think about this, when i see movies like avatar , they are showing futuristic transperant displays, then i thought, what a dumb director? When we are going for 2k 4k 8k display why would be future be like faded transpirant see-through display? Now it all make sense .
The keyboard will be the worst part. Without physical keys, you'll have to look at the keyboard to see your hand placement.
I'll just wait for the smartwatch to project the screen to the air and getting 10 inch screen on the air.
This is something which will take decades
keyboards come on we will have chips in head :)
I just got my new lenovo laptop wishing I had this one😂
watchdogs legion can tell the future
It's an invention in search of a use. I have never heard anyone say, "If only I could see through the laptop screen."
It reminds me of Tony Stark's cell phone in Iron Man 2.
cool, now i can share what i watch on public
Future is here
Then again, what's the point?
They worked hard to come with a unique selling point for this one. 😂😂😂
After the initial "wow" it will fizzle out like 3D TVs and many other useless inventions. Picture quality already looks substandard judging from the video. The Expanse...
reminding me of startrek or something😂
you don't have privacy in working..
Tony stark phone soon 🔥🔥🔥
Its cool but why though?
Because it's cool ...... Lol
Real steel is yet 5 more years into the fuuture
This is definitely not a consumer product
This has been teased for the last 15 years and het nothing 😫
That's cool ngl
apple = 1 kidney
lenovo = 2 kidney
Apple has always been 2 kidneys (plus 2 arms and one leg). 🤣
