Can't wait to make a video of my Clemente issue that was Bing Crosby's personal subscription issue! It's in great condition with a couple small finger bends that you'd assume are Bing's. Just got a BEAUTIFUL game program with Clemente on the cover from the '72 NLCS from 3 Rivers Stadium. Would have been Clemente's last home series and could potentially be from his last ever game in Pittsburgh. His last game was in Cincinnati where the Reds took it in 5. I'm really getting into Clemente, such a good guy.
The Mets used to spring train about 5 miles south of me. It's now called Huggins-Stengel Field, on Crescent Lake in St Pete, Florida. You can Google it, interesting spot. It was originally built for the Yankees in 1925. Babe Ruth refused to shag fly balls that rolled close to the lake cuz of alligators. Ruth and Dave King Kong Kingman are the only 2 players to have known to hit balls that dropped straight into the lake, a MONSTER blast. My neighbor directly behind me grew up about a mile from the field and was a Mets batboy in the 60's. He sat in the dugout with Stengel and later Yogi Berra who became manager. Also Met manager Wes Westrum who was the Giants catcher on the 1st SI cover. He was also friends with Augie Donatelli, the ump on the 1st SI who's family lived close by. Me, him, and Donatelli's sons have become close friends. I've made a couple videos with them, but they're terrible. I'll try and get a decent one out.
Hi, I’m 100% disabled that 80 years old and have a lot of cards in the late 50s 60s 70s, plus magazines from 30s to fifties to 60s and 70s bats from 1919 20 score Books 1910 and 1880 and many other things, pictures glovesbut I don’t know how to sell them. Can you help?
