Bruv I've never seen you this happy driving a ford🥳👍
You'd be more happy putting the 9.5s on both front and rear👍,
on my SS I got 18's with 9.2s front(235's) with 9.6's(245's) on the rear & way better handling and smoother ride,
on my wagon I got 19's Avant Garde 9.6's(245) front with 10's(255) on the rear...
the previous owner🤡 had the 10s on the front 9.6's on rear SMH and he damaged the shock

I love a pushrod V8's response, It's usually got ALL it's power from idle to 4,000rpm.
In a Turbo your looking for power while the V8 has just got it sitting there waiting to be released.

Awesome buy mate! Congrats and can't wait for the ute content.
You know you want to supercharge her Ross. Add to that instant low down V8 torque. When you're over that top end lull of a small blower and have a decent transmission, throw on a turbo or 2 and ECU tune her for boost per gear 🎉
I hope you have friends with lots of points to share with you for all the fines you're guaranteed to get in most of this country. That's necessary in an old Datsun 120Y, let alone a ute with an LS in it...
Throw a barra into it eventually. Before the engines are worth more than an average car. Oh wait, they're just about there 😂

  • @davidburnett93
    @davidburnett93 7 місяців тому +4

Stoked you got a good buy brother. Love seeing your barra, even if it's just the front bumper, makes me miss my GT. My XR8 ute doesn't quite fill the void but it'll do for now. Look forward to seeing the ute with wrap and wheels.

I’ve owned an 01 VU SS manual LS1 over 4 years and travelled roughly 35,000km has a Total of 210,000km. Love owning an Aussie made Ute.
Can relate with the Saggy headling, also
Tyre wear (2.5mm~ left after 20,000km with camber/toe wear)
    Machined front rotors.
Handbrake needs more than 6 clicks to fully engage, and needs adjustment.
    Careful with 20’s I Buckled a 19” (Melbourne)
    Also replaced:
Second hand Engine: fitted new Lifters, oil pump, all bolts, gaskets and covers.
    Clutch spigot bearing
Spark plugs, leads and ignition coils
    Battery + Battery terminals
    Alternator
    Radiator + radiator hoses
    Drive belts
    Oil pressure switch
    Fuel injectors
    Suspension/driveline:
    Tyres, lug nuts
    Front and rear Driveshaft couplings
Tailshaft Centre bearing (brought a product that will permanently fix and replace the factory one)
    All Caster bushes
    All Control arm bushes
    Strutt top mounts and bearings
    Rack ends and Rack boots
    Right hand tie rod
    Other:
    Clock spring
    Front windscreen
    Washer bottle filter
    Wiper blades
    Bonnet struts
    Abs module
    Globes,
    Key fob buttons + battery
    Tonneau cover
    Upgrades
    Full exhaust (Pacemaker 1-5/8 Tri-y into 2.5”)
    Otr intake.
    Redesigned Valley cover
    Ported polished stock throttle body
    Billet ignition coil bracket.
    Struts and lowered springs.
    Whiteline strut tower brace
    Headunit + speakers
    Dyno tune.
    Plenty more I’ve forgotten.
    Current issues:
Diff noise although lsd is still really tight
Manual box won’t select 1st/3rd think it’s just an adjustment.

You keep working on your Holden Ute Ross. I am glad to see there was not much that needed work. That is a pleasing thing to see and a good feeling. You focus on getting the cosmetic corrected and other things. You will be just fine and feel good about the progress. I often wonder if the Ute had come to the United States would it have been a success. I say this because we had them but the Chevrolet El Camino disappeared after 1987. They were going to bring it back at a Pontiac G8 ST, but the plans fell through. Thank you and work on your Ute.

Those rubber donuts on the tailshaft always break mate, get a new tailshaft made with a VT 4 bolt flange so it deletes the rubber coupling, if you even remotely drive the car hard the rubber joins will keep breaking. I went through 4 or 5 couplings at 100 bucks a pop till I finally changed it. Save the time, money and headache and do it right 🍻

@@RossReviewsau *To do that T56 manual conversion, it will nearly cost you as much as the price you paid for the whole car. Not worth it. You said it's had a tune and the 4L6OE has a shift kit, I would get the motor retuned plus a tune on the gearbox and you will get so much more longevity out of it before the 4L6OE shits the bed.💯*

Johnny could give this a detail, put in new headlights and taillights and easily sell it for 12k, possibly even more. It will come up mint after those things I mentioned to do plus the Walkinshaw wheels will just be icing on the cake.💯
