I don't play Deepwoken much at the moment but I'm still obsessed with its lore. The concepts and everything make it so interesting I'm often left gawking at my screen after reading one of the books. I'm glad there's someone on this platform doing this stuff so I don't have to think too much!
A lot of the lore is very inspired from other places. So, if you enjoy Deepwoken lore, here are some other games you may enjoy. If you like the Voidsea: Check out Disco Elysium. The Voidsea + Luminants are very similar to the concepts of the Pale and Isolas in Disco Elysium respectively. (pretty much one to one) If you like the Voidwalkers: check out Dishonored. They're pretty much a certain faction from the game, and the lore is amazing too. If you like anything about Deepwoken lore, probably check out Bloodborne. Its a huge inspiration
Ironic how the shadow heroblade user betrayed the others or questioned his loyalty, kinda ironic how shadow users are mostly evil, like rydra (He literally killed someone for shadowcast), the ministry agents and prophets and a diver npc using it seems so out of place, like imagine using the one thing linked to a evil organisation.
@@mrshadowmaster6079 It's because Shadowcast is pure offensive attunement if you think about it. Unlike any other elements who could be used by Lumen's society for their everyday lives INCLUDING bloodrend as it was shown to be capable of medical practices. Shadowcast actually lack a usage for that as Shadowcast is literally created with one purpose to take everything and overshadow all of the attunement like what the hell would Shadowcast do as field worker? Kill some coworkers? Leech their ether? Would be normal for people with ill intent seek this kind of power?
The villagers at Erisor's church say that Alastir (the royal pathfinder of the island) is still working under the "lord of this land" (the Duke), I personally believe that Alastir is attempting to lead lost villagers or other players to the Duke so that he can use the forge of sin on them.
I don't think that Alastir is actually, in game, killing these NPCs that you bring to him. Doesn't the same animation play when you bring a Navae hostage back to the camp in Etris? It's just a way for the game to despawn the NPC. Both of these interactions were added very early on in development, and one of the easiest ways for an event to despawn an NPC is to simply play the animation that conveniently despawns the NPC for you - IE, the animation that plays after you grip an NPC. (Keep in mind also, this animation plays for Players as well - but ONLY after you injure them and send them back to their inn. If they were truly dead, their body would remain on the ground, like we see when you send a player to the depths. It could very well be an intrinsic and innate ability within the world to return your body "home") That being said, I can't find any other fault with the theory that Alastir may be working with the Ministry - outside of there being no other evidence for this claim. It could very well be that he is well-intentioned and simply cannot speak of his blade for another, undisclosed- or possibly retconned- reason. Being unwilling to discuss the blade would have just been an easy, plausible excuse for not writing lore regarding the blade at the time the dialogue was added - which was, at the very least, over a year, MUCH longer than Saintsworn was ever teased or discussed. But as of now, we have no way of knowing, and there's no contradictory evidence for your theory, so it could very well be possible.
its really nice to have some one that gets to the lore of new updates really quickly I know most of the old lore already so having you cover the new stuff really soon after it comes out is really nice
I think Alastir grips them not because he actually does it, but rather because the devs just made it that way bcs there was no reasonable way to program or add the actual villagers just resting under Alastir protection, I would like to trust him and just imagine he does save them.
regardless of whether or not he grips the NPCs, the blade he’s wielding is still an imitation of a hero’s blade. i don’t think there’s any reason to yield one if he’s not attempting to deceive you
@@ermesmetal We can't know for certain who Alastir is working for meaning that it's impossible to pinpoint his true motive for doing the beforementioned act. Does wielding a hero's blade necessarily mean that the person is heroic? It could be that Alastir has lost his way and at the brink of insanity.
Hey dude just a lil criticism. Can you add some visual elements about what you are talking about? Sometimes its kinda hard to understand what you are saying and some images would be rlly helpful. Awesome video as always
I know I have told you some things on how you should do your narrative, but I think I am no one to tell you that. You are doing very good and the progress may seem slow, but it doesn't mean you aren't moving forward. Good luck!
small things kaido or the dread serpant may be the hero of frost faust as he says Ah, a seeker of knowledge, or perhaps just a fool seeking the ice... Faust they called me. The one who saw the patterns, who understood the way of the world better than anyone else which kinda could implify that if its their graves those obelisks we visit that he thinks you also want the knowleadge of the heart he consumed and the ohter thing that the mantra of hero of frost is with kaido head but i may just be overlooking it. another thing is the one of shadow could have been traitor again working for ministry of him talking about how loyalty is fragile
something I noticed after watching the video on the world events is that the world serpent guy that I forgot the name of was that it could be being summoned by the ministry to drown the world
You overlooked the Erisor's church dialogue and an alleged special dialogue Option the Duke's Royal Pathfinder gets if you talk to Tessa's obelisk. Otherwise i think this is a good video that covers most things well.
The wiki says there is a secret dialogue for him when it comes to the saintsworn quest, same with another npc, check the wiki and you will see what I mean
@severusreee9234 not sure but somoene on the wiki had added it, idk what it says or anything but all I know is that it might exist, if you wanna try, your welcome to
ok so i have a theory, what if the world serpent is a dread serpent, not just any dread serpent, its the mad steuward, once you kill the world serpent, it give you ardour, which is what a dread serpent does, it is also stronger than a dread serpent
Just so your comment doesnt go unanswered The ministry didnt make Shadowcast, it's just that they don't have morals/other reasons that would stop them from using the attunement The Children of Navae, in example, find it taboo to use the evil meta attunement because it goes against the big girl upstairs

They should really change the diver npcs so they don't use shadowcast, doesn't make sense
