Hell, I don't know whether to feel inspired or crushed. Her practice is so... perfect. Just a bit of a hollow sound. I guess it is either the room or the recording. Thanks for sharing
@@VincenzoIormettiI bet you are right. I know she’s talked about repetitive motion injuries. Also how tired her arms get after finishing Carmen fantasy.
To the first poster: Man, why be so mean and hurtful? I think this video is amazing and really, I was surprised because she looks like a kid to me! I was going to look up her age because she looks like she's 30 years old and I was sure she was older than that.
...kind of astonished to see the metal mute on for really slow practice with a mostly uncommitted bow arm. I really appreciate when great players show that they do this kind of work.
Bogles my mind just imagening what is going on in Hillary's mind while playing-practising this, what emotions, thoughts, memories playing in her brain, just watching her face ,the expressions , her body movement , are worth to see
The best violinist performing the best piece ever composed for violin! She has slowed down the tempo a bit and put more feeling on it... so perfect!
I glad that her full version around was 17 minutes every single note is emotionally flourishing
A practice session with mistakes (of course because it is practice) but still able to move me into tears! Just magneficient!
What treat to see this virtuoso violinist give us closeup view - such as navigating those demanding double stops
Thank you for this eloquent video.

she is using a mute
I always feel inspired when listening her play, I just assume that she is not like us mere mortals.
It's the mute
Because She only used about 2 millimetres of bow the entire time, my guess is she’s saving stamina because she had a long day of practice.

This is so beautiful.
The pedal starting at 10:05 is blowing my mind, Bach was a pedal master (think of 6th cello suite). She is quite pretty in playing it

YOU HEAR! YOU REMAIN SILENT! YOU DREAM! YOU FEEL INSPIRED! HILARY IS PERFORMING!
PRACTICING !! AS INSPIRING AS HER PERFORMING !!
+ "When you mute perfection, what will you have"?
+ "Excellence".
❤
It has a strange appeal with the mute on. I don't know how to explain it.
whats with these awful audio artefacts? clipping and glitching. Destroying the performance, screw this
It’s just a video of her practicing, not a free performance? She’s showing a glimpse into her practice method, which is something I really appreciate.
Yes, it shows her practicing, not performing ---- SEE THE TITLE
