Pro-tech has had a few button locks over the years, like The TR-4 tactical Response button lock. Thi is Pro-tech's flagship model, but it didn't catch on that well because it didn't always lock up completely tight. Slight blade play is a cardinal sin for a $200 knife imo. Great episode man, so glad someone showed that Pro-tech has had button lock knives for a long time they just didn't catch on. This is the first comparison I belive.
Mordax is the only one I have any experience with and it was a fantastic knife! No reason to think the other two are any different! Love the look of the Malibu! Thanks for the look brother!!
Great review of all three button locks. I handled a Malibu and felt is was just a little small for me, so now I have a Mordax coming. Looking forward to it.
I was not into the Persian blade shape, but then I bought a ZT0462 on a whim. I was not into "hard use" folders, but then I bought an AD-10 on a whim. 😁 Nice showcase of manual Pro-Techs. Wish I was fast enough to catch one when they're in stock.
Thanks for the Protech history on their manual technology! Btw, I like your “Standard-Hand” reviewing... but, of course with your uniqueness of facing toward viewers, if that makes sense.
Thanks for the comparison I have the mordax all Black DLC Can you let us know when and where to find a Malibu I'm on most email lists but I never seem to get them and they are alwaya sold out.solid review Brother keep up the Good work.I have a BMG Spade and I love it I think you Havr a BMG also.
I agree about autos.. my first nice knife was a microtech Hera… I don’t play with it a 1/4 of the time I play my my Peña, Chavez, demko etc… like u said, they cool for the first day or 2
Do you think the mordax will match the malibu in smoothness and "crispiness" since both knives are still in production and receiving design updates on the production line?
Big Sean247 Thats probably the one I just pulled the trigger on thanks to Jakes comments and the fact Malibu’s are like gold dust! Hope it was worth the purchase.
Thanks for the shout and awesome showcase of the lineage! Was stoked to hear your thoughts on em! That cambria is a hidden gem for sure
I’ve been screaming for them to do more Manuals as well. I own the Mordax and absolutely love it
I think a manual ProTech Strider SNG would be a big seller. I’d be all over it.
Hell yes
Same legal issue here in PA with autos so I'm glad protech does these manuals so I can experience there quality and carry and enjoy them
Came here to say this. Until PA stops criminalizing automatic knives, these flippers are the only way to EDC a Pro-Tech knife.

Thanks for watching as always buddy!
Thank you for showing us this Jewelry Jake! Greetings from Austria. Lion
Awesome video Jake, this answers a lot of my questions on these blades!

Sweet comparison video. Thanks bud!

Awesome trio of button lock flippers! Great overview👌🏼🔥
I’ve always found manuals with well tuned actions to be more enjoyable. Hopefully someday I can try out a Malibu.
Man the Malibu is so amazing
One of my favorite knives 🤘🏻
ur best review.
however the elusive mastery involved in the challenge of one handed auto closure is the zen of
this relationship
i agree, i've found that i dislike out the side autos for the same reason i don't like assisted knives. no fun on the close

You should make a video on what you use to sharpen your knives
you are damn right about autos being cool for 5 minutes, i never buy autos anymore they just get old
Same

Oh man. A thumb hole plunge lock my just be my dream edc...
You know what. That Mordax looks like my size knife. I love the Malibu but might go with the Mordax just for the size. Decisions are hard. LOL
Yeah I can see you loving the Mordax haha
Why not both?
Is the malabu still your favorite knife.???
Damn you were able to tell the difference of .25 oz? Nice 😉
Do you think the mordax will match the malibu in smoothness and "crispiness" since both knives are still in production and receiving design updates on the production line?
I won’t know the answer to that unless I get a new Mordax in hand. So far I haven’t played with any mordax’s that were as crisp as my malibu 🤷🏼♂️
Smooth yes crisp no
Im waiting for the mordax reverse tanto
when did the mordax come out
Your killing brother! Can't wait to eventually grab a Malibu Nice to see all three side by side Thanks for your thoughts and comparisons 👍👊
Thanks man! Hope you get a Malibu soon!
@@beardedgear Thanks Brother 👊
The profile of the Cambria kinda reminds me of the Spyderco Sliverax
yes the exact video ive been looking for!
Waiting for mordax to restock. I like the gray. Reminds me of Audi Nardo or Toyota Cement gray.
Just picked up a new Mordax which was changed a little by protech. It feels amazing and I like it better than the Malibu.
I need a malibu anyone know when and where they are dropping again?
knifehub, in stock !
Anyone able to tell me the exact configuration scheme for that mordax? I'd love to acquire one like that.
Those are sweet! Peace, Stiletto :-)
Your camera has trouble focussing when you hold the knife in your hand. Maybe a bit more distance
cambria on ebay for 199 right now

@@Wyzbowski sweet im going to get a mordax soon. i really like the look of it and only hear good things about it.
They sorta look just unremarkable and boring IMHO. I’m guessing they are expensive too?
Never knew about the Cambria. Thanks for the info. Maybe we can all harass Pro-tech and get another run of them.
