That which is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. The lack of critical thinking, logical reasoning and blatantly wilful ignorance by the genocide apologists on both sides is just gross. And I detest "both sides" arguments.
@@herbhealsus the claim that it "was a peaceful protest" was debunked, because the article the caller linked didn't substantiate it. Lonerbox's article did substantiate his claim, you just don't trust it.
It's not even like it should have been a peaceful protest anyways. If they had just come out and said "They had no feasible peaceful means to resolve their situation, so they resorted to violence" they would have a defensible, if controversial, stance. It's an easy way to tell if people actually care or are just virtue signalling when they remove any agency from the oppressed populations.

The dude had trouble answering some of the most basic questions lonerbox was asking.
Just from the evidence presented by the photos and the description of what happened at the checkpoint, it seems to me that she was holding some sort of explosive that partially failed, and blew up in her face. The fact that she had it in her hands was probably bad for her fingers, I'm no doctor though. I bet whatever she was holding was supposed to provide a much bigger bang

To be as charitable as possible to this person (and i really dont want to) i dont think they intend to make you lie. They want you to condemn israel with more severe connotations. The problem is that to use increasingly more emotive language, results in people lying and changing the context on any even given incident. God forbid somebody have to infer, that a disproportionate response causing 200 people getting shot, who werent even involved in the violence on the Palestinian side, is fucked up and horribly inhumane. God forbid you have to use your fucking brain and apply the criticism in the context of what happened.

There are a couple things going on here, involving three fallacies.
Yes, he biased towards Palestine, that's one, but there's more than that here. He read the Al Jazeera article first, thus he more keenly rejects other articles on the same topic, that's primacy bias and second logical fallacy.
In that article, there is no mention of whether the protest was peaceful. The mistake here is that he is equating nothing reported to nothing happening. At that point of him reading, he doesn't know if there was violence, thus he concludes that there wasn't any. In fact, it just means that he does not know. That is the third logical mistake.
All three of these coupled together explain his aversion to LonerBox point of view.

I feel like I'm about as far left as you can get without being an anti-state, bearded socialist. I would consider what's going on in Israel/Palestine to be an ongoing and currently escalating genocide. But to claim LonerBox is being disingenuous or stupid on this is outrageous. He's literally been doing the best dives into the conflicts and history of anyone on the left that I've seen.
But as far as the genocide goes, ask yourself, what is the future that Israel sees/plans for people who maintain the Palestinian identity? They have been systematically settling in the West Bank, they've now destroyed half of Gaza, they conflate the Palestinian people with Hamas to justify murdering Palestinians en masse. Millions of Palestinians have been driven away or corralled into areas under Israeli control. How can Palestinian culture survive under these conditions? What is the last Palestinian song you've heard? Who is the most famous Palestinian scholar you know? What industries do the Palestinian people work in and take pride in? This is how you do a genocide. It's not just a matter of killing people, it's a matter of systematically destroying a culture.
I would define that as ethnic cleansing. Some might say it's not worth making the distinction, but I think it is. Because many can argue that it isn't in fact genocide and that's not a debate worth having, just like the one in this video.
The problem with lefties is too many are content to just argue amongst themselves over things like this and manufacturing outrage instead of being unified in condemning what Israel does

Idk I feel like if you can acknowledge that it's ethnic cleansing, the only argument you can really make against it being genocide is the old "well Israel COULD genocide all of them, but they haven't yet". Which would be a really wierd thing to say about, for example, the Holocaust before 1941 when the explicit death camps began being implemented. Like were all the laws and forced evictions and concentration of the jews not genocidal? If you tell an ethnic group to leave or die, and you kill the ones that don't leave or can't leave fast enough, is that only ethnic cleansing and not genocide? Because that's how the Holocaust began. Death camps came about because it's hard to get soldiers on the ground to murder people en masse. Nazi's used gas chambers to solve this problem. Israel is using bombs along with cutting off access to food, water, and shelter.

For the record, Norman Finkelstein has explained why he made his statement in several interviews, Lonerbox. He said that he had posted when he had only seen videos of the fences being torn down and the people escaping (prior to all the murders being posted online). Clearly, he had a knee jerk reaction that in hindsight looks really bad, but he has clarified why and denounced the killing of innocent civilians. Using that to discredit his body of work on the history in Palestine and Israel would be foolish.
BTW, I am not defending this unhinged chatter. I appreciate how Lonerbox sticks to the facts and how he presents the info.
