I always say "Sometimes it takes a mess to clean things up" - You begin cleaning and things get messier and messier than when you began and then 11 hours later you feel exhausted and accomplished!
I just kept thinking when Ryland was opening cupboards in the kitchen, "Isn't that for dishes? Where are the dishes?" 😆

I was wondering the same thing. You always see in movies, shows etc. Big kitchens with islands, lots of cabinets, space and now i see that they are using it for their stuff that dont belong there 🙈🤫

I'm happy to see you guys taking time to clean up your home. I struggle with PTSD and depression, so I know how it's easy for things to get piled up. Also, random boxes, things you don't use anymore, clothes, and all kinds of other things. I wish you guys all the best during this process!

I would hire a professional organizer. That's too overwhelming. Kinda of like the show Hoarders...they have a whole crew to help because it's too much for even a few people to tackle. Eventually you and Shane will get exhausted or busy then the cleaning project will go to the wayside once again.
Just hire someone to help you 😁
Damn haha I’d like to see your house. There’s a difference between literal hoarding and things getting kinda cluttered. They live in their house comfortably and their knickknacks suit their personalities well. Not everyone is a minimalist and not everyone is a hoarder.

The company literally sent him cooking utensils because they watched his first video of him struggling to chop vegetables with a bread knife and didn’t even have basic pots and pans. I love this decluttering I'm doing mine slowly for a few weeks and although it takes forever im grateful I'm being helpful in reducing and truly find what I need and help the environment I just giving or selling my stuff to others that need it so there's less consumption of new items produced and just be less stressed and managed to pack everything into 1 or 2 suitcases is awesome particularly when you're moving house. Apart from furniture and my piano of course 😅

A cheap and easy way to organize cables and cords is to put each one in a sandwich or snack baggie, and write on the bag with a sharpie what that cord/cable goes to. It keeps them from getting tangled, and you'll know at a glance what goes to what. For further organization, put them in a plastic container or basket within the drawer, so they're not floating around everywhere.

Shane’s like ‘baby steps, baby steps’
I have been reorganizing/decluttering my own house for about two years (in spurts but still more to let go). It feels amazing and the trick to letting things go more easily is to take pics of items that don't bring a ton of joy or hold a very sentimental meaning. It helps me to be ok with letting sooooo much more to leave my home. I no longer try to sell items unless its worth over $75-100 and a loved one can't use it. It means more to me to be able to give it away, bring another person joy, and allows the item to get more use.
I get enormous joy out of creatively & efficiently organizing different areas of my or others homes. It doesn't always have to cost a lot of $ to make a storage area look amazing!
The trick is to create a Pinterest board of organizing ideas so you have inspo and then start out with one area or drawer at a time.
I can proudly say that I wouldn’t be bored at your place you got everything to entertain me 😂
