    This is the best tutorial for hand hops. This guy does em right. Most of the other tutorials show how to do them by only kicking your legs, but this one teaches you how to pulse your hips, which is the really important thing. When you learn it this way, you can easily branch out and learn any hand hop variant, whereas those other guys can't.

      This video is useless crap and helps me nothing (seeing a guy hoping around and speaking "do it like I do"). Worthless.

    Hi ! I'm a Bboy and Breaking Teacher from Argentina. I've studied many dances and gymnastics besides Break and my way of teaching is somewhat related to yours. I've seen your others tutorials but this one seems like the most effective to me and I'll try it since I don't do Handhops yet. It looks really nice, if I'm not wrong, first three steps are mostly to gain Strength and proper Form of the body, while the forth step is to start learning the hop motion while still gaining Form technique and in the fifth step you start gaining one hand Balance, now with correct Form, so on the next steps you are already able to start practicing one hand hops. Great tutorial, time seems really appropiate, tough I'm a bit concerned about that many repetitions. I'll post the results later on.

      Worthless and useless "tutorial", seeing a boy hoping around and talking shit like "do it like I do".

    Great vid, extremely helpful and thorough! I really appreciate what you guys are doing for the community. One thing I think that would be really helpful is that if for these "tricks" tutorials you could point out which muscle groups we should be focus on using for them.
    For example "you should be feeling sore in your lat muscle group" etc. That way we would know if we were engaging the wrong muscles by mistake.
    Thanks again and let me know if you have any plans to incorporate my above suggestion.

      This would be a great addition. My friend actually needed to get surgery on both his shoulders because he was training the wrong muscle groups for 4 or so years. It'd be great to hear from SOLPM, the people who already have those moves, what muscles they use and feel during these exercises.

    • @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove

      Thank you for this great feedback. The SOLPM will start to open up to these explanations of right/wrong muscles quite soon.
      If you have more ideas please feel free to share them. The SOLPM appreciates it.

    for those who just discovered these tutorials and having trouble focusing I focus on 3 or 4 moves at a time so instead of doing 600 per day id lower it to 50 a day so 10 sets of 5 or 10x5.

    no offence to this video but if you do all that 3000 times a week it should not take you more than a few weeks to get it. I'm not an amazing break dancer but I didn't do this stuff 3000 times a week cause I have a job and stuff to do and it took me just over a month to get a decent amount.

    Hey man awesome tutorial!!! Quick question, how long should the breaks be? I'm trying to do about a minute or less but every time I finish a set of 20 I have a pounding head each and want to throw up! Is this normal and just something I should deal with or am I not taking long enough breaks or what? Also I want to learn flares as well but this one also, could I learn both at the same time? Thanks bro!

    Hey I'd just like to say I've finished week 1, except with less reps. Honestly 600 per day is ridiculous. While training I'm consistently having to say "Push yourself." and "How bad do you want it". But even still 600 is a really large number, no matter how you put it. I actually spend 1-2hrs on this daily and manage to get

    • @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove
      @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove  10 років тому +2

      Dear Curisco,
      The SOLPM understands your point and we think that If 200 is a good number for you keep this average then. With time you can increase the amount.
      Just to inform, there are people who achieve this average of 600 per day though.
      If you think in terms of sets of 20. You will try 20 handstand in a row by holding 2 seconds or so. That means that in 1 minute you can get 20. Then + a small break of 2 minutes or you go again and 20...+ 20 this would mean that in less than 2 hours you can get 600.
      Maybe if you are a beginner you can start with a smaller amount anyway but 600 is totally doable by knowing how to set up your mind to achieve this.
      Maybe you can try to have smaller breaks or start to increase the number by 10 or 20 everyday. Think always in how to be efficient and probably 600 will not be a big issue in the future and you will have optimized your training to learn those tricks for real.

    • @markwazhere
      @markwazhere 10 років тому +2

      Week 2 Summary:
      Alright sick. Week 2 is done :) One day late though cause I breaked all day for the last 3 days and missed one day of reps.
      Difficulties: Bringing knees in. I've realised I lack flexibility in shoulders and so I can't bring my knees to chest as far in as bboy byeel. I'm stretching shoulders every day to gain gain flexibility. Note to people reading is that if you don't already know you need enough shoulder flexibility to have a nice vertical line for your handstand moves. If not you will skewer and use unneeded chest muscle (Still completely possible just not 'perfect' form).
      Notes: It's really fulfilling watching your own progress. The movements get ever so slightly easier through time and repetition. Every time I proceed to the next step it's like going up a level. Really makes the process in my mind think it's like playing a game. And breaking is the best game.
      The Science of Learning Power Move Question:
      For step 3 just to be clear every 10 reps you hold the position for 10 seconds? So in one set of 20, you would've done two reps holding for 10 seconds. One at the 10th, and the second at the 20th?
