    This project is not only about doing the moves. The idea is to learn to set specific targets, learn to go beyond the comfort zone. This way of training requires patience but it will give in return mastery and certainty of the moves people are doing.
    ... not necessarily the easiest, the coolest but it is one that works!

    Concerning your second question I suggest to do 2 weeks on the right leg and 2 weeks on the left because the 3 step will give you the balance you talked about.
    Hope to have clarified it to you!

    I am guessing part of the science of repetition is to program your muscle memory to a point where your body does those steps autonomously. Its why you do these step by steps. This is a very good way of learning. Thumbs up. 8)

    HOLY CRAP!!! I have been doing airflare for a year and was stuck on just one i could not even try to go for a second one!! I saw this video and I really did not want to start over so i kept doing the airflare entrance my way, but then i figured, maybe i should just hold the position after i try airflare in my own entrance AND IT WORKED! I DID AIRFLARE TO FLARE!! THANK YOU GUINHO I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO YOU!! YOU'RE SUCH A GENIUS! I thought in this I had to start over!! If you've been stuck at one airflare for a long time, you should really do step 9, you can still do the airflare throwdown as how you used to!! I was stubborn and did not believe him but it actually works!!!

    • @DanteWeirdoz

    I'm stuck on step 10, i don't have the flexibility like you, but still trying, but trying to do it while in a standing In upright position to get momentum. For 2 months now step 10.I don't think I need help, but I just need to not give up at this point, which is kind of hard at age 48. But I'll do my best not to give up.

    This is the way I learned almost everything for my reserse side. And the good news is that my training was not as systemitized as that. For example, I usually did 100 of the exercises per day, Sometimes 4 days a week, sometimes 5 or 3 and yet i learned around 6 airflares in 6 months. This means that the learning system in this video is more coherent, exact and this is the reason I am sure that anyone willing to follow these steps will develop it.

  • @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove
    @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove  11 років тому +1

    Yes! The logic is that by doing the same exercise around 2000 times during 2 weeks you will develop the conditioning and resistance on your body to learn e.g airflare in the right way.
    If you train the steps exactly as suggested you are not likely to fail...just follow the steps and within some months you will be doing airflares.

    well, i just realized I am right handed and i have been going into my airflares the wrong direction this whole time. You saved me from never getting airflares and not understanding why, and the mechanics and tips you gave are making it INCREDIBLY easier to learn. I have already gotten to step 9 after 3 days of practicing your workouts and training, i know i should have followed your advice on it, but oh well i still feel like its helping a ton

    Hey Guinho! great tutorials! I'm currently doing the flare and the windmill drills and after seeing your other tutorials, i want to do even more. Is this dangerous?
    I feel like if i drill too many powermoves at the same time, my body will get hurt. How many at the same time is a safe number you think?
    Thanks so much! :D

  • @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove

    Hi man! I saw your video of airflares. You need to hold your body on your left hand longer before throwing yourself. In addition, you also need to kick the left leg straight and high.
    If I were you I would train the steps of this tutorial from 1 to 8 because this will give you strength in your whole body making your airflare lighter afterwards.

    Hi bboy Teemo!I understand what you mean! In our days however there are many people who are able to do airflares without being able to do the flares. The conception of difficulty is subjective and even cultural I think! I classify airflare as an intermediate move because it has many variations. For example, one handed airflare, airchair flare, etc. These moves are considered advanced in the SOLPM cuz you usually need to master the normal airflare first b4 training them.

    Hi Nischal! It is possible to do a swipe tutorial but it will probably take a while. The point is that there are some tutorials ahead already which must be finished. Then I can do it..it takes some time because we need to calculate how many exercises exactly and time people need to go through to learn with this science format.
    Thank you!

    A good point and it might be a wast of time indeed for the following:
    - When people do the exercises they notice their body becomes light fast and many learn faster than that. (WHICH IS BETTER)
    - The most important are the first steps until one gets 2 or 3 rounds. Then people can take off and train in their own way..learn more turns than suggested.
    However, we still preferred to systematize this approach until step 4 just to guide those who prefer it in this way. But you are right!

  • @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove

    I think you are very smart guy to have suggested this "title" and I appreciate that.
    There are two elements to consider here with the name "science" though.
    First, so far everyone who followed this approach learned the moves in Brazil where we started applying.
    We name it science because our claim is that anyone who follows exactly what we suggest will learn. I might really change the title until one follows exactly the steps as suggested and yet fail.

  • @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove
    @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove  11 років тому

    I saw your video and your third attempt was the best because you were able to swing your body a bit longer on your right arm before throwing yourself.
    But actually, you can follow all the steps from this tutorial and continue to train your airflare the same way you are training. (you can for example do 200 times the exercises of step 1 and in the end try your airflare 50 times) put a focus on holding your body longer on your right arm be throwing it.
    Hope to have helped!

  • @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove
    @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove  11 років тому

    I believe that some people can learn much faster without needing necessarily to go through all the steps but then it is up to individuals. I think people should use this tutorial to satisfy their needs by selecting what is relevant from it and figuring out how their body is feeling.
    Exercises will only help irrespective of what you train, how you train. By training the exercises for the airflare all other moves you train will get better naturally because your legs become lighter as a whole.

  • @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove
    @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove  11 років тому

    you can train up to 3 moves at the same time...however, you need to have around 30 minutes break before training another move. In the break, you should stretch a lot, relax for 10 minutes without doing anything...then you train another move because this will avoid you from getting some muscle lesion or injury.
    However, if you feel training 2 moves demand a lot from your body it is up to you to see if it is worth it. But yeah it is possible to learn 2 moves at a time.
    Thank you!

    Josue carlos! You are the first person in my life who says if it is possible to do sets of 50. This is too much to do in a row.
    The idea of doing sets of 5 is that you hold your leg in the air for 5 seconds. Logically, if you trained 50 you should hold your legs for 50 seconds in the end.
    However, you can do sets of 10 and hold your leg for 10 seconds. This exercise is also supposed to be slow not fast. Keep this in mind!

      hey bro I agree. training different disciplines really helps make your body well rounded. though you have to chose a focus and be selective of what you practice so your training in a functional way towards your goal
      Complimenting a fast dynamic practice like bboying with a slow conscious one like yoga really helps improve body awareness. My footwork improved so much after my hip flexibility increased and my movement is smoother after I let go of unnecessary holding and was aware of only what i needed to engage
      For airflares this video in combination with "Airflare Exercises ( bboy yujeen )" look like two really brilliant resources to train the necessary strength and coordination for airflares

    I hope you've been doing your "weekly" exercises as in 5 days a week instead of 7 days because 2000 divided by 200 for 2 weeks means 10 days total. 10 days is TWO full weekdays which means it doesn't include weekends! So every week you are getting 2 full break days of not practicing unless you shifted your schedule somehow because something important happened during your week. I started Step 4 this week. Which Step are you on?

    I really like the way that this guy aproaches to this move, Because most of tutorials are like this " you put your hand here, you throw, catch, lalala..". This way looks very effective but im curious does it really works? and can u really get it in 6 or 7 months?

  • @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove
    @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove  11 років тому

    I do both sides actually but you may learn to any side you want. These techniques may function for both sides since you develop the strength from all steps exercises in a linear fashion.

  • @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove
    @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove  11 років тому

    it is possible! But it is good that you have a break of around 20/30 minutes before training the second move. Otherwise, train one move in the different times...for instance, flare in the morning and airflare in the evening.

  • @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove
    @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove  11 років тому

    Yes. The airflare shown in this tutorial in clockwise. So if you are righter simply reverse the legs of the exercises. It is the same principle.

    Your completely right. I should do the whole program seeing that I don't have the move. I figure I'd ask because I used to be a hardcore breaker, I'm 26 now and I havn't been active lately with this dance. I used to be able to hit like 15 flares like 6 years ago when I was 20, but barely can hit 2 now haha. Doing this program will probably get me back into shape anyway. Think I would get my Flares back by practicing Airflare program?

  • @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove
    @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove  11 років тому

    Bboy Nugget! Thank you for your video. Your airflare is on the right track. Your second turn in the airflare goes down simply because you need more practice.
    If I were you I would do this: Follow the steps 1, 2, 3 and 7 of this video. Try to do 2000 as suggested. Then you train your airflare again. Your legs will become so light that your body will naturally ask to do 2,3 or even more turns in the airflare.

    Not necessarily but it helps a bit if you know the flare. But as I already stated earlier it is technically possible to learn airflares without flares.

    Hi, Could you make a swipe tutorial also??
    They say it is the easiest of all powermoves but I cant really get the hang of them.
    Also some of the steps in the airflare videos very similar to swipe and im guessing they will be of help in learning swipes. ??

  • @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove
    @TheScienceofLearningPowerMove  11 років тому

    I myself learned like this and so did other people in Brazil.
    Very recently, a kid sent me a video responde saying "I finally got 2 airflares" and he said this method really worked for me.
    He claimed that he had only done 400 of the exercises but this was enough to give him enough strength in his leg allowing him to do 2 turns in the airflare in which he had difficulties before.
    I will soon post a video explaining this idea better how it works so that people can underestand it better.

    It is possible to do without the sitting position. If you notice at the beginning and end of the video I do the airflare to the right side and my legs are not in the sitting position. This happens when you become very light then your legs go to a kind of planche position.
    Yes, you can train the exercises daily.

I've been following the instructions EXACTLY; you too, right? My practices take so long because between break times, I'm doing exercises for SOLPM's headspin tutorial so I'm occupied during break times by more practice.I'm on Step 8 on headspins by the way. How long have your practices been? At step 3,mine was about 2.5 hrs/day

    You can try to accelerate the process and it is possible to learn these moves by doing more exercises. There are people who learned much faster than the time proposed.
    However, I suggest that you see how your body feels by training for example 400 a day in order to learn it in 3 months. The point is that it may demand a lot from your legs and be careful with lesions.
    Otherwise, you can learn in 3 months as long as you do all the exercises appropriately.

    Hi divizionn! It is ok that your leg bends at the beginning! Everything is a continuous process! You will develop better flexibility and coordination along the way. You should continue to train the stretching section though before you train! I estimate that when your are in step 5 your legs will be more straight and lighter.
    If any doubt I will be willing to help! Thank you!

    Concerning the point “People don’t really care if you do 1 or 500” - what the SOLPM has seen so far is that many people do seem to care. For example, imagine if you will instruct someone in breaking dance and she/he asks you “how long it takes more of less, how many times do I need to do? Many are not necessarily satisfied with an answer “just keep doing it and you will get it”. Common people want to know “yes” but if I do 10 exercises per day will it take 1,2,3, 5 years.

    And my last question: when swinging up my right leg: my left doesn't stand like this: I but rather like this: / (leaning sidewards, even more than you in the video) Should i try to limit this? or can i lean sidewards as much as i please in order to maintain balance?
    Thank you very Much!

    Okay, it seems to be working but one more thing. After the first day my hips and glutes are very sore. Should I force the reps through the pain, or wait for it to heal?
