How to Collect Insects with a Wet Shovel
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- In this episode of the insect hunter I show viewers how to use a wet shovel to collect small insects in plant material. Though this method is not the most technical it can still help a pest manager, hobby collector or farmer learn about the types of insects that are in a variety of plants. For alfalfa farmers in Idaho they may find it useful to help them detect the presence of thrips.

Interesting catch method. Gonna have to try this when my macro lens comes in the mail

Hey i have a question i found a furry caterpillar and put it in a jar and the next day i noticed a little fur ball with the fur of the caterpillar then the day after there was another caterpillar fully grown exactly the same but i cant find anything online about caterpillars multiplying have any idea?
I have no clue I have never heard of such a thing Taylor. Did you take a picture of the caterpillar to learn more about it? Maybe if you send me a picture (theinsecthunter@gmail.com) then I can at least help you figure out what it was. What plant was it feeding on?
