  • We have a 2011 Nissan Murano with the Check Engine Light on and DTC P0101 Mass Air Flow circuit range/Performance. Here is a hint it's almost never the MAF sensor that is the cause of this DTC.

    THANKS FOR YOUR TIME , ON THROTTLE BODY ISSUES POOR IDLE MY PROCEDURE IS TO CLEAN THE THROTTLE , LEARN CLOSED THROTTLE POSITION , IDLE AIR VOLUME RELEARN , CLEAR ALL PCM CODES AND RESET FUEL TRIMS . PLEASE KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK !

      @Autofixpals  5 років тому +1

      That's an excellent procedure, should work fantastically.. I keep forgetting about the closed throttle learn procedure. I'll have to try and remember to do that one as well.

    I hear you on the cheap aftermarket air filters. I've only ever worked at independent repair shops. So many times I've mentioned an air filter is getting dirty. They sell it and when I see the air filter I'm supposed to put in I just want to throw it in the garbage. The dirty OEM filter would still do a much better job than the brand new aftermarket one. The aftermarket ones have at best half the filter element material than the OEM ones. Cabin air filters are even worse! They literally weigh 10% as much as the factory one. Factory ones will have tons of folds with nice thick activated charcoal material and the aftermarket one I'm told to put in will have maybe 8 folds of tissue paper material...
    The parts we get in the aftermarket world make me cringe sometimes. But then I don't think I could work in a dealership. I like working on all makes and models and cars that have enough age and miles to get crazy weird problems.
    Awesome job on the video!

      I used to work independent shop for 3 years, i do miss the crazy weird problems. But i don't miss having to deal with the crappy parts we would get, and sometimes having to do the job 2 or 3 times because of it. Yes the dealership repairs get boring and repetitive ..
      Thanks for checking out my videos. Make sure you subscribe and share.

    Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. You did an excellent job filming this video as well as the narrative. I felt as though I was right there with you.
    Question? What happens if you don't do the calibration idle intake reset thing at the end? How does the shade tree mechanic perform the same reset without a professional tool such as yours? I have a harbor tool and freight scan tool , but it won't erase or reset permanent codes or allow any type of adjustment of the tuning parameters or programming of the computer.
    Is it necessary to reset if I change out maf, the boot or clean intake? What happens if you don't reset? Will it continue to shoot a P1010 maf code on the dtl ?
    I am obviously researching the MAF trouble code after replacement of the MAF ..... I will check everything you have demonstrated in the video. The smoker device for vacuum leaks is pretty cool piece of kit! Who makes It? Is it expensive .

    hello. Could you please explain how a sticking throttle valve causes the p0101?

  • @fercast1395

    great video..... I just got a bit lost started with a smoke leak and could not find the source then removed the air box cover and boot no source yet, cleaned the throttle blade which makes sense because it was obviously sticking then do a relearn.... all good and probably fixed it but what about that smoke leak? side note when I cant find the STFT LTFT I just go to the OBD side you cant go wrong there anything over 10% will throw a lean code specially if you add both PIDS. thanks again for sharing

    Was that CRC Brakleen Non-Chlorinated Brake Parts Cleaner you used to clean it?

    • @Autofixpals
      @Autofixpals  4 роки тому

      Doesnt matter what you use to clean it. Just do an idle vol relearn afterwards.

  • @JCruzify1
    @JCruzify1 4 роки тому +1

    To do the relearn, do you need the computer to do that or is there a method of pushing the peddle down and turning the key 3 times but 2011 Murano doesn’t have a key it has the push start now.

    • @Autofixpals
      @Autofixpals  4 роки тому

      I dont know of any other way to do the idle air volume relearn. Sorry man wish there was.

    What did you use to clean the throttle body ??

  • @TECHSUPPORTEBIKE

    OK THAT'S THE PROBLEM WITH MECHANIC VS DO IT YOURSELF.... REPLACE THE PVC VALVE SINCE IT'S THERE , BUT CLEAN THE AIR SENSOR SINCE YOU TOOK IT OUT AND REPLACE THE HOUSE TOTAL MAYBE $100 . I WOULD DO THAT FOR ANY CUSTOMER AND BE SURE THERE IS NOT A POSSIBLY OF HIM COMING BACK WITH SAME ISSUES. IT'S CALLED REPUTATION OF BUSINESS NOTHING MORE ...BUT I UNDERSTAND JOB SECURITY SAD 😢😭

  • @heinrichorilla9914

    Do i still have to do relearn even if i only did clean the throttle body without dismantling it?

    • @davidczeizinger194
      @davidczeizinger194 3 роки тому

      Wondering the same thing,but pretty sure with these nissans you'll need to do a throttle body relearn procedure 🙄
