Has anyone else noticed that Palin cannot directly answer ANY single question she's asked?? It doesn't matter where or by whom she is asked, she just completely ignores it or answers by repeating the question.

    • @fortuner123

She doesn't ignore the questions, she just has no fucking knowledge in her head TO answer them.
Don't you know this is why people laugh at Palin. Sheesh, you must be one of her offspring asking a fucking stupid question like that! Everyone except you it seems has fucking noticed. Dumb-ass.

    Amazing -
While listening to Biden, I found myself being drawn into the conversation. His meaning was crystal-clear.
When the conversation switched to Palin, it was like a switch was thrown. Within just a few seconds, I was utterly lost. Even if I concentrated fully, I could not follow her disjointed 'thoughts'.
Listening to Sarah Palin has the effect of fogging my brain and irritating my nerves.

    • @bravevoice2771

It's simple. The constitution is a set or rules. Something can be constitution, unconstitutional, or non-constitutional. For example, labor unions, are a non-constitutional issue. Therefore unions are resolved at the state level (unions being "closed shop states", and "right to work" states having open shops). Speed limits is another non-constitutional issue.
Abortion was long considered a non-constitutional issue, but it was successfully argued that a law that took the life of an innocent mother was unconstitutional. See Row v Wade. The problem with Roe was it also went way beyond the constitution by addressing elective abortion which not covered by the "life of the mother" issue. See Dobbs.
Which article of the constitution covers elective abortion? Freedom of assembly? The right to bear arms? No, there are none. The Supreme Court has exhausted its options. Palin is absolutely correct in referring it to the states, because there is no place else for it to go.

    > I really dont care whether or not she
    > performs well for the media
Performing for the media? Wasn't that what she was doing at the convention, to great praise from the GOP? You're right, being able to memorize a script (that she didn't even write) has nothing to do with being VP. BUT SHE WOULDN'T HAVE TO REHEARSE OR "PERFORM" IF SHE HAS PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OR INTEREST IN THE TOPICS, i.e. I knew what the Bush Doctrine was simply by watching the news. Shouldn't the VP know what's going on?

Which to me is incomprehensible. When I was in school in the 1970s, we had to lear ALL the important high-court-cases, it was a requirement in AMERICAN HISTORY (my tough American history professor in school used to say"those who do'nt study history are condemned to repeat it"!) She could have at leas said something sensible, like DRED SCOTT, but Noooooo. She had to prove to the world how empty of required school-learning her head is. How can she be VP, and not know American History?!

She is sooooo well coached its absolutely amazing. Biden gave a very well educated answer. Couric-> "what other Supreme Court decisions do you disagree with?" Palin's answer revolved around her thought process that went like this. (Gee, she just asked a question that I don't know the answer to so I should do what my coaches told me to do and that is Ramble, Ramble, Ramble, while avoiding the answer.) People are just simply dumb, you can tell in her voice, her stammering that she doesnt know

Also, note how when she is asked "What other supreme court decisions do you disagree with?" she responds with "In the GREAT history of America there will be decisions that are not supported in complete unison..." she doesn't bring up a single other supreme court decision then what they had already been talking about (Roe V Wade). She doesn't know about any of them. She just isn't booksmart. It should be mandatory to graduate from some kind of law school to be anywhere in the White House.

The simple fact that if she had just said "Not of the top of my head" would have been acceptable instead of rambling on and attempting to patronize (as she ALWAYS does) and sneek around answering the damn question which was incedental to begin with.
Thinking about the incompetency to just respond truthfully to the simplest of questions, then that person, theoretically being in a position to govern a super-power of the world, is indeed a scary thought...

It's not the fact that she can't name a decision that bothers me, it's the complete lack of consistancy in her belief.
She's a federalist, but she would likely support federal legislation to limit abortion, and she won't say what criminal actions are appropriate for a woman seeking an abortion in anti-choice states or doctors performing them. "I would choose life" is not a policy statement, it's a personal one. It concerns me that she doesn't seem to know the difference.

I "have to admit" that? Whence the obligation? Sarah Palin knows nothing but a few buzzwords about the Supreme Court and its decisions; Joe Biden both knows the Court, can explain more than one of its decisions, and he's able to articulate why he believes the Court got it wrong in a case that he regarding as especially significant. What you're seeing is the difference between knowledge (Biden) and ignorance (Palin).

@RebelGuy95 I agree with everything you replied - but again, a majority of the Supreme Court simply made up the 'right to privacy' in Griswold, which then served as the 'federal right' relied on in Roe. I'm strongly pro-choice, but to say abortion is a 'Constitutional' right is a vast stretch. Stare Decisis now requires adherence to Roe, but if it were a matter of first impression, I would've said States unquestionably have the right to prohibit abortion, if the PEOPLE of that state so choose.
