In my honest opinion, the overall cost was a bit much, you gotta know your dog.. I'm not the type to spend $100 on toys alone knowing that the dog will probably only play with half of them at best and they rest will just sit there. Just because you spend a certain amount doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to improve your dog. I respect your opinion but some point seemed a little off. i know for a fact I can find high quality leashes for under $50 , why $150? It seems a bit high. I can't argue with your training videos considerin your results but it just seemed a little pricey if someone was on a budget, I rather take that extra money and save for a medical emergency in my own opinion.
I've always loved Bullmastiffs though never owned one. The few I've come in contact with have impressed me and seem to have taken to me immediately. I've had life-long dog experience but now am elderly and somewhat disabled and have felt that my time of owning large breeds is over but listening to your talks has made me reconsider. I definitely wouldn't take on a puppy but could an older, retired stud,,brood be suitable for me? I have been looking for a companion for my utterly delightful Bichon I rescued. I manage two 30 to 50 mins walk a day with her and I was surprised to learn that that would be adequate for a bullmastiff. Somehow, I feel that quiet, loyal, loving temperament would suit me very well and as my Bichon has not a nasty bone in her body, they might gell very well. Advice would be helpful as i take the acquisition of any animal very seriously. Pamela Joyce
There`s nothing in the U.K that`s affordable anymore unless you are on a ridiculously large salary...owning a cat is expensive never mind owning a pedigree dog the size of a Bull Mastiff...so much for The Peoples Breed...
It would be nice if as a UK based company you could say amounts in sterling for your larger home audience in the UK than the states. I know why you did it but people in the states can just as easily convert also. :-) Than you for your amazing work by the way. Really appreciate your videos.
I owned a bull mastiff , I do a combination of grain free dry food and raw meat and I don’t spend more than 600 dollars a yr on him and he’s healthy as a horse . Unless your feeding him prime rib on a daily basis there not too expensive to maintain
Hopefully our channel can help you prepare but don't forget we offer a number of training courses if you're looking for some more detailed training. You can find more information on our website: www.fenrircanineleaders.co.uk/collections/training
My family has a 5 year old female Amstaff.(basic obedience) We discovered your Bullmastiff channel and we would like your thoughts on adding a Bullmastiff pup to our pack?
One question, please: I want more than one dog--both for companionship and protection. Would you suggest that I wait until I can afford to purchase and support both--for the purpose of them bonding closely, or is that really a factor?
I'm a hoping to but a BM next year. I have a 12 yr old and a 4yr old. I will be a first time owner. I know u don't recommend for first time owner but is there anything i can do to help myself?
This is exciting! It would be wise to do as much research as you can about the BM before you welcome one into your home and make sure you're as prepared as you can be. We have a Perfect Puppy Course that can be a great tool to establish yourself as the leader from day one and help to set the ground work for a great canine companion for your and your family.
Yep! they arent cheap! we have a 1 1/2 Bullmastiff and a 8 month Saint Bernard and we feed Raw and have insurance.. we spend at least $800/month on them!
@@vangarcia419 My dogs are worth it. I have a brand new SUV and no need for a boat. I am happy to spend the money to make sure they are feed well and will be healthy
@@skyebates246 I would really like to someday. I actually just adopted a small rescue Boxer. Largely because she was affordable to adopt and to feed. Plus she needed a good home. But I really would like to have a Bullmastiff too someday. $40-60 a month definitely sounds more doable than $600! I would like to feed my Boxer raw too, though. Do you go to a butcher to get prices like that?
If you are on facebook I believe the group is called Bullmastiff Forum. Most breeders in this group are in the UK/EU. If anything, they should be able to steer you in the right direction. Critical that you see the prior blood lines to ensure they are not inbreeding.
Thanks for watching! We actually have a raw diet masterclass over on our website if you're looking for a little more information: www.fenrircanineleaders.com
Grain based products are just not good for your dog. They are not supposed to eat it. I don want to come off as a snob about this, but in my opinion all kibble is garbage for example. Want to feed your dog the best? Raw meat. And fruit and vegetables.
probably not, now if it's owner is there making a fuss it just might, and I imagine if the intruder lays hands on its' owner, the dog is going to be all over them.
Your numbers are right on point Will. We own the bullmastiff owners guide and switched to raw food (best decision ever) with the help of the owners guide. We have a very healthy, happy and well mannered 6 month old bullmastiff 😊
As a dedicated Bullmastiff lover, I love watching your Bullmastiff videos! I just wanted to ask that you please, PLEASE don't encourage grain-free foods. Please google diet-related DCM. Grain-free foods typically contain legumes like lentils that block the absorption of taurine. This can lead to dietary-related DCM (dilated cardiomyopathy) which is heart failure. Many dogs have died at young ages because of this. It has come to light relatively recently (in the last few years) and an investigation was launched by the FDA. We learned about diet-related DCM the hard way with our last Bullmastiff boy - we almost lost him to it. I don't want anyone else to go through the heartbreak and stress we did! Also, as a side note, I think it's great that you are warning prospective owners of the cost of having a Bullmastiff. They are definitely expensive. Medication and procedures cost more than they do for a small dog because you need higher quantities of medications and everything else. We were unusually unlucky with our last Bullmastiff boy from a health perspective - he dealt with epilepsy, DCM, and cancer and his medical bills in the last year of his life exceeded $24K! BUT... They are an amazing breed. Our boy was worth every last penny and gave us so much more than you could put a dollar amount to!
That's so expensive how does anyone afford that unless loaded with cash? Would anyone like to give a comment on why dogs have become so ultra expensive in United Kingdom?? I have seen prices like 2k 3k 5k 10k Almost all breed of dog sellers are charging mega money.....

We've got 6 dogs (4 are seniors) and 2 cats rn. When we are down to one dog, we're going to seriously consider a Bullmastiff.

The numbers quoted in the video seem totally over stated unless feeding the dog fillet steak!
£600 a month is insane you can find top quality ones for 60 a month.
I just don't get the figures quoted in this video, seem well over the top
Right

Right?! I'm so confused about where the figures quoted in this video came from!
I have a Presa Canario Pitt mixed with bull mastiff he is 10 wks. Old. My baby cost me $1800 but because I know the breeder . What is the best food..
Between a Bull and a Cane Corso who could be a better guard /attack dog ?
I find a lot of tennis balls at the creek and I have deer antlers from hunting

800.00 A Month!?! You Could Have A New Duramax or A New Boat For 800.00 A Month..

Unfortunately this means I can't realistically have one. 😔 Maybe someday. But definitely not anytime soon.
You can find very good raw food from 40 to 60 a month 600 in insane
